Two machines. What could go wrong?!

BAD idea! Great story!

I have a feeling this Marion Dawson guy is going to be big trouble. Completely screw up the timeline kind of trouble. All because oldest Chris is unhappy with his personal life.

OMG!!! So many coincidences! As I was reading this chapter, there was a story on the morning show about a time travel movie in which Ryan Reynolds goes back to meet his 12-year-old self, the reporter even used the words "do over". Another story was on the Russian invasion of Ukraine. The show went off and I surfed the channels and found Back to the Future! I'm meant to read this story!

I'm missing the oldest Chris to find out the changes in the future. At the very least, the tech has changed. What's with 2012? Another lie originated by oldest Chris? Sorry, I know writing a story on time travel is unavoidably complex and you simply can't include everything.

To Preserve the Timeline
CincyKris commented on Altimexis's story chapter in To Preserve the Timeline
I find it interesting that Chris has no problems with lying to himself, literally. In the case of 9/11 (trying to verify that he is from future vs preventing the tragedy), he now believes his own lie because Chris believed it! How will believing the lie told to Chris-29 (that the orders came from the Whitehouse) by Chris-36 and Chris-43, effect that reality in the future? -
A Chain of Communication
CincyKris commented on Altimexis's story chapter in A Chain of Communication
So to truly record changes to the timeline, they would have to be recorded by the earlier Chris, based on info from later Chris. As they go back in time, the only accurate logs would be from earliest Chris, which oldest Chris, who did not ever work in the lab, read with his husband. It sounds like it's going to be a wild ride. -
Did he not give more info to himself to keep from actually changing 9/11? Probably smart, but what about the guilt factor? Survivor guilt is a powerful thing.

Well that cleared everything up!!!

I just finished reading Brilliant Boy, up to the current posting, and decided to read some of the author's prior works. I absolutely loved Do Over and look forward to this time-travel story. I hope to be as enlightened, entertained, and occasionally confounded as I am with Brilliant Boy Millionaire.

Chapter 6: Fists and Feelings
CincyKris commented on Demiurge's story chapter in Chapter 6: Fists and Feelings
Alec is a lot more than just a bundle of nerves. As written, he is in desperate need for therapy before he attempts suicide. He hasn't had any positive or even neutral thoughts about himself. His self confidence and self-esteem is zero. If it weren't for River, I couldn't see Alec interacting with anyone at all.- 26 comments

Chapter 3: Beta's Betrayal
CincyKris commented on astone2292's story chapter in Chapter 3: Beta's Betrayal
That last line was a little ominous! I have a feeling Stormy won't fight fair. Hopefully he doesn't know about the fire affinity. -
You just had to mention that guy!

I wonder how many of the Pinnacle Hold inhabitants are like Jevikel and Kemi, they know that things are better in other holds, but they have no way to get there. It's a soul-sucking place, after a while you just give up hoping and give in to the drudgery. I'm wondering how close we are to Thread, seems like Dragon activity is increasing.

I breathed a sigh of relief at the end of the chapter. I’m glad that Andy is so empathetic and has learned patience with Eric. I understand Rob’s viewpoint, and with a normal person it would be completely valid. But this is not an average person, or even an abnormally shy person. This is Eric. He has never had a sexual experience in his life. He has never even had any guilt-free thoughts of sex. He is completely lacking in social self confidence. But how is Rob supposed to know this, he is not a mind reader.

Let's hope Sonez never undergoes the same procedure as Essell. Can you imagine how handsy he would be with 4 of them!

A nice glimpse into their private time. I agree that dear old mom would not be appropriate as an ambassador. But then I think of the saying "better the enemy you know, than the one you don't". Plus, looming in the back is the little fact that they are basically fugitives from the Kardoval!

I have a strong feeling he will not! I'm hoping the dream was not a premonition. I think I would check out that ladder, just in case.

Dawn and I don’t usually get along! I get up at 6:00 am only because I have to! Sunset and I are buddies.

It's obvious I'm going to do a lot of rereading with this story! Ok, so Castle is the thousands-year-old Arexian, who has not had a peaceful slumber. I’m Meredith Langley, the Chief Director of The Agency’s North Ameridian Sweepers. We have the last known Arexian in this facility, held in cryostasis, since the First Contact Wars. We need you to bring him back…because you’re the only one who can. And because…he knows you.” How is Captain/Agent Devan Black this ancient man's husband? Which memories are real and which are false? Who are the Arexians, who are the Builders, who is The Agency???? So many questions, I'm hooked!

So true!!! I still have the finale on my brain! Sorry Aaron.

I agree with @drpaladin, my first thought after the kiss was how sad that Alec responded internally with self doubt, instead of joy. Most of the homeschooled kids I've known have had social awkwardness, if not outright social anxiety. I was impressed that Alec made the first step, pretty brave.
