That sounds like a dad response to "did you get me anything?" - - "I gave you a roof over your head and food to eat!". 😒

I think that mashed potatoes and gravy makes a lovely backsplash! With a touch of cranberry sauce for that pop of color.

So it looks like we are going to have competing thanksgiving dinners! Or will the lure of the Great Potato win out and we'll have one big happy friendsgiving feast? Great chapter, I loved the communication and the making up!

Here's my best guesses: Trevor is in the well. Jack is in the pond. Jenny and Colin were involved, either of them a murderer??? Maurice and Brenda know what happened. Sylvia does not? Great chapter!

Will Castle pick up a new power as well? After that hellish cleansing he should get half a dozen!

Late comment, sorry it's been a crazy week. It appears that Black is/was much less invested romantically in Jacob than the reverse. He felt betrayed by him but was pretty freakin mad when he shot Castle after he killed Jacob. Hmmmm? I'm loving Alice more and more. Is she getting her earth slang from being in Castle's head? Is she "playing" Castle's daughter in his dreams (the way Black was playing his husband) -or- is she Castle's daughter????? Is Black really his husband???? The "pick an affinity" scene reminded me of the computer in Wargames. I really like his new super power.

I have a crappy IPhone 6 I can sell him for great price! I cleared off a dresser yesterday and found my tiny old Nokia. Sadly it didn't charge, but my 30 year old digital Timex was still ticking! I can't wait to find out who our ghost is, I hope he's not shy during the seance.

They finally had that much needed conversation. And just like in real life, it was give and take and not finished. They grew a lot in this chapter. Pun intended.

The cleansing sounds horrific. I'm assuming that most people are under full anesthesia when undergoing the procedure, based on Black's comments. Did the relic sentient doohicky thing have anything to do with Castle's 1000 years of dreaming? With his inability to decipher what was and was not a dream prior to the massacre? I guess the Hippocratic oath does not exist in this future, or Dr. Chaudhary just sucks!

If it hadn't been for Jevikel, they would have lost a lot more stock. How much you wanna bet Vikkel never says thanks? He made a choice to not use slate, this was his fault. We know Kadin lives through the first fall, but we don't know what he went through.

A four-handed massage -- sounds like heaven. I agree with Essell's plan, if you sneak in, the Kardoval can just disappear you. You come back to a public spectacle, they have to listen.

If I remember correctly, the little tot was one when Aidan was four, so we have another year before Seamus' little clone is sprouted.

Could Jack have been jilted by Trevor? I feel strongly that Trevor and Jenny are at the center of everything. And that Bob the Builder is involved. I really hope that Dan gets back ok, Terry's bad feeling gave me a bad feeling.

No one can resist the tot that is Aido Potato! Best medicine ever. The little spud is like a gateway drug, leading to healing and closure! Hopefully. Thanks for my fix.

And Then There Was A Thump
CincyKris commented on LJCC's story chapter in And Then There Was A Thump
There were so many different things going on in this chapter. I understand more the reason Black was so angry at Castle. Those soldiers were his family, not just a "brothers in arms" kind of thing, he lived with them. The reunion was nice, I loved little Rothan, I wonder what his role is with the Watchers. Jacob is a Prince? Do we have a love triangle? Will Black have to choose between Castle and Jacob? The digistruct AI was a hoot. Wondering what the affinity/mind/body thing is? And finally, I really liked the film noir, cloak and dagger ending. Great chapter! -
Chapter 13: Drinks and Nerves
CincyKris commented on Demiurge's story chapter in Chapter 13: Drinks and Nerves
I'm hoping for Milo's kid, or a failed relationship in which a surrogate was used, or a moment of weakness with a girl who is no longer in the picture. No one has mentioned this yet, and it's way too early for picket fence and a dog time, but Alec divulged the interesting little nugget of info that he now works remotely. Maybe California could be in his back window? I'm looking forward to the showdown with Mom. -
The attempted texting made me laugh. I remember texting on my first Nokia flip phone, using the number buttons before touch screens were invented. I'm pretty sure I could have got in the in the car and driven to a friend's house in the time it took me to text a couple sentences! At least Eric missed that phase of technology. I sooo wanted to mail him my steam iron in a previous chapter, it's hardly been used! Please introduce Eric to emojis.

Looking forward to more jet setting! Will Carter become another of CJ's collection? We need a name for all these squad-adjacent people.

This is a well written, unique take on sci-fi fantasy. Or it's a character driven mystery. Or it's an epic romance spanning decades. It's all of these rolled into a tight, cohesive tale. Regardless of your favorite genre, you won't be sorry you read this wonderful story.

I'm late to the game this time, and everyone has already voiced my thoughts on this excellent chapter, so I will focus on the very best part. Next chapter I'm getting an Aido Potato fix!!!!!!

The previous chapter, we all speculated that it would be difficult to for the space crew to adapt to a pre-industrial society. I think that's because most of us would find it difficult. However, if you are left with absolutely no other alternatives, you adapt pretty quickly or you die. It's a little different than going camping for the week! Great story!

Sounds like Garjah would make a great leader. I wonder how many others of his people have gone beyond their genetic memories? Does Timok suspect that Bouncer is sentient? Did Bouncer's venom (even though he didn't use it to harm them) have anything to do with their transformations?

That sounds terrible! Maybe you could write a property management horror story sometime! I've been making protein granola bars off and on today between chores. No recipe. Who knew 6 cups of oats, a bunch of nuts, and dried cherries and cranberries could make soooooo many granola bars! Now I'm sitting down to a glass of bourbon. I suggest you do the same!
