Cyril's original attitude toward his coworkers may have been a defensive mechanism. If no one likes him and he is rude and snarky without going over the top where they might be able to report him to HR, then that will keep them from butting into his private life and allow him keep his secret. What exactly happened? Did Cyril make Fred late for his dinner engagement and Fred threw him out? Or did Fred abuse Cyril again and this time Cyril left Fred and has showed up on Stuart's doorstep? Does Cyril even admit to Stuart about the reason he's there? Too often the abused person will end up going back with the abuser, so is that what happens here? Or does Stuart help Cyril break free of Fred, possibly even getting Cyril to report the abuse to the police? And if Cyril does make a clean break with Fred, does he stay with Stuart or look for someone or something else? You've stopped too soon and left too many questions unanswered.

We all have to live with the decisions we make in life, even when those decisions are based on what someone else wants, rather than what we desire. This story pointedly demonstrates that decision making process, but what choice will the main character make? You'll have to read this short story to find out.

We all have to live with the decisions we make, even when those decisions are based on what someone else wants, rather than what we desire. Hopefully Brady will eventually get the courage to follow his heart, before it becomes too late and he is left to live with regrets.

We all have to live with the mistakes we make, although some mistakes are not as life changing as others. When Kevin discovers why his boyfriend Mark keeps ditching him at parties, Mark has to live with what he's done. You'll have to read this story to discover what occurred and what happens to Mark and Kevin afterward.

Hey, give Mike credit. At least he agreed to let Cindy have a third of the cake.
-
Yes, it turned out better than most of us thought, and maybe after seeing what the boys can do it gave Mike the courage to stand up to his wife. That was also a funny thought about Cindy asking Mike to become a skinwalker and transitioning into a healthier man, but I don't think she'd let him do that unless she could as well.
-
The evil skinwalkers always try to lurk in the background or in isolated areas, as can be evidenced by their actions thus far and the fact that Mac's parents hadn't seemed to noticed them when the boys did, at least not until the boys went out to challenge it, nor did anyone else at Mesa Verdi or either Ute reservation. There seems to be a mental connection between them that seems to keep them connected, but how long that will last or over what distances have yet to be seen.

I think we're all happy that Mac's parents seem fine with them being skinwalkers, but as far as the evil skinwalker is concerned. you'll have to continue reading the upcoming chapters to see what happens next. 😜

The earliest recorded use of "feline" in English appears in the 16th century, specifically in the works of the English writer and poet, Thomas Nashe, where he used it to describe a cat-like creature in his pamphlet "Have with You to Saffron-Walden" (1596). The largest cats on each continent is as follows: Africa - The lion is the largest cat in Africa. Male lions can weigh up to 500 lbs, while females can weigh up to 400 lbs. The next largest cat is the leopard, while the cheetah lives in sub-Saharan Africa and Northern Iran. Australia - there is no evidence of wild big cats in Australia. Asia - The tiger is the largest cat in Asia. The Siberian tiger is the largest tiger and can weigh up to 380 kg. The next largest cat is the snow leopard in Central Asia, Northwestern China, and Tibet. Europe - The Eurasian lynx is the largest lynx species and is native to Europe and Siberia. The Iberian lynx is native to the Iberian Peninsula in Southern Europe. North and South America - The jaguar is the largest cat in the Americas. It is the third largest cat in the world, after tigers and lions. The next largest cat in North and South America. is the cougar, also known as the puma.

I'm thinking of the construction workers in large cities that like to whistle and make cat calls, as well as confronting attractive or minority groups (eg LGBTQ) on the streets.

I tend to think of wolfish as someone who's sexually obnoxious and persistent.

Can't A Guy Visit A Friend?
Bill W commented on thecalimack's story chapter in Can't A Guy Visit A Friend?
A powerfully written story about a very delicate and disturbing topic. I'm glad Miguel arrived there when he did, because he obviously stopped something terrible from happening, but the thought that Tristan was still going to go through with his plan was even more disturbing. I hope Miguel stays close to Tristan and is able to prevent him from ever considering trying that again. -
We did vulpine of Friday, but not lupine, although that did come up in the discussion of vulpine.

Gramps and Pops don't know what the boys told Mac's parents about them all being skinwalkers, if that's what you're referring to, but if things go well when the two families are celebrating the Fourth of July together, that will be a good sign that Mac's mom won't have a problem with Gramps or Pops either. I hope you can eat the whole Goliath Burger then. 🤪

Yes, for now. But the boys couldn't very well kill it in front of Mac's parents. That might have been more than they were able to deal with.
-
Yes, it turned out ok, although it was probably a rough 24 hours for all of them. I'm also glad you caught Mac's dad attempt at levity with his comment about the clothes. Hopefully, all will be good going forward.

I'm sure the parents were conflicted between the love of their son and Devin and the horrific scene they witnessed, but after talking it over they finally decided they loved their son and his partner more, as well as the idea of future grandchildren. They might have also been a little concerned about how the boys might react if they thought Mac's parents might cause them grief, so they finally made their decision. I'm sure it was tough on all of them, not just Devin and Mac.

What a cute story to explain the Snowy Pizza. Oh, and I loved how you had the bear scare Jeff into the arms of a bear. Thanks for this charming story.

Chapter 53 – Repercussions Rather than talk about what my parents might do next, Devin asked a question instead. “What the fuck made you transition into a polar bear this time.” “I’d been thinking about what might intimidate and possibly even be able to fight off an evil skinwalker and determined a polar bear would be my best choice. They can stand up as tall as twelve feet (3.7 m) when on their hind legs, and can weigh a 1,000 pounds (454 kg) or more. They also have thick,

This story is definitely bittersweet and it's a shame that it took Dooley's impending death to bring this about. I do hope he lasts until Valentine's Day as well, and even though they've probably celebrated Valentine's Day together before, It would be great uf he could celebrate it with his new husband before he died. Thanks, Cole, now I have to wipe my eyes again.

I loved this story. The shining light over the diner that led the pregnant woman and her husband there, along with Teddy and Finn, and when I heard the couple's names were Adam and Eva, I was convince they were going to have a boy and then would give him the Hispanic name Jesus. Instead, they named him St. Nick... I mean Nicholas. Great story and lots of fun. Thanks, Val.

You could always change the lyric on "The Twelve Days of Christmas" song for whichever day of Christmas you were born on. "On the ______ day of Christmas, so and so was born" Oh, on the chorus when they're going over each item for that day, it would become... ____ birthday wishes

This definitely wasn't what I was expecting, but I found it both funny and interesting. Great job! I'm really enjoying these stories.

An Orange and Some Walnuts
Bill W commented on Valkyrie's story chapter in An Orange and Some Walnuts
I found this story very interesting. At the beginning of the story, as he was describing the office, I thought he sounded boastful of all the very expensive trinkets in his office and thought he was going to be portrayed as a "greed is good" type of guy, but then it all changed on Christmas Eve. Even though he took a ride in a classy Uber first, he ends up spending the night (and possibly the next day?) living as a homeless person. By the end of the story, I felt it was his way of keeping himself humble and grounded, as well as an acknowledgment of what it was like as he was growing up. Thank you for this story, which made me stop and think about my own situation.
