  1. I do this as well. I find I do it most when there are things I don't understand or don't feel I can talk to others about. I also do it when I visit the gravesites of loved ones that have passed. My family background is primarily Welsh, but there is some Irish in there as well, but I don't remember anyone discussing this as I was growing up, although I did notice close relatives doing it as well.
  2. Wasn't it great to wake up this morning?
  3. Happy Birthday, Calien! I hope it's a great one.

    Helios Unleashed!

Thanks, Dolores. I had to do some thinking about the situation you mention and decided it was their only option. I'm glad you enjoyed the story and found it believable.
  5. Proper preparation would be watching: Earthquake Inferno The Core The Poseidon Adventure Deep Impact Supervolcano The Perfect Storm 2012

    Meow

Bet there are no church mice around.
  7. Updated weather report:
  8. Sure, why not party for the last few days, if you think the world is going to come to an end. The only problem is, the after-party hangover and cleanup are a bitch.
  9. I would think that once it started rolling, whatever was inside would do more damage to you than what was outside. Could you imagine being tossed around inside one of those? I wonder how many idiots bought one.
  10. Does the world end when we go from December 31 to January 1 each year. It was just a calendar, so when it ends it only means it's time to go out and buy a new one. Seeing they used large rocks to make their calendars, the Mayans just didn't want to have to go out and buy a new one every year, they made their calendar last a longer time. Now that it's came to an end, it's just time to get a new one. End of story. lol
  11. Happy Birthday. I hope it's a great one.
  12. Happy Birthday, Johnathan. Hope it's a great one.
  13. I would like to send my deepest sympathies to Roan's family, loved ones and friends. It seems as if this is the weekend for expressing sadness over the loss of a great number of young souls.
  14. I definitely won't be around for the series to recycle, as long as we get by 12/21/12 - which I feel confident we shall, provided the politicians are kept out of the process. lol
  15. Happy Birthday, Benji.
  16. Percy, thanks for the feedback, but I didn't see enough of a pause where they could enjoy their Red Man tobacky. lol I'm glad you enjoyed the action and the dialect. I guess spending the past few years in GA paid off.
  17. Thanks for the response, RJ, and I'm glad you enjoyed this.
  18. Thanks for the feedback, Dolores, and I'm glad you enjoy my stories. I've sometimes been accused on spending too much time 'describing and teaching' in my stories, but then again I've also had many favorable comments about doing so as well. I'm glad you appreciate those details.
  19. A Tale from the Portuguese. lol Sorry. I just couldn't resist that little play on words, while thinking of Elizabeth Barrett Browning's "Sonnets From the Portuguese." . Since I'm hooked on the television show "Once Upon a Time" and love fantasy stories, I enjoyed your tale. I'm glad you submitted it, enjoyed the subtle twists, including the cliffhanger ending. Nice job!
  20. Very emotional and very interesting that he sees the light in the darkroom. Was that the light seeping in that ruined his picture of reality?
  21. That's pretty much what I just told Cia too and I'm glad you enjoyed how this turned out.
  22. Thanks, Cia, and you're right. Life doesn't always work out the way we want and incidents don't always end fairly. I thought it would be better leaving the rednecks thinking that they had been bested by a gay man and possibly even owe their lives to him. Besides, they'll end up paying a bit to retrieve their belongings.

    Fair Enough

It was an interesting solution indeed, but was the servant actually the leak? I also hope that she didn't get half of his estate.
  24. Yes, I'm surprised we even have an armed forces left, after all the dire predictions I'd heard about what would happen if gays were allowed to serve openly in the military. And attitudes toward gays and acceptance of gay marriage is changing as well. As someone said on television today, the opposition to gays and gay marriage is literally dying out, as those old, religious conservatives move on to their final rest. Either there won't be any gays in heaven or those people will find themselves in a different location. lol
  25. Thanks, Joanne, and I guess I've picked up a bit of the southern redneck from living in GA for the past several years. There aren't as many of them as I'd first expected, but the few I've met can more than make up for their lack in numbers.
