This was a good story but on a really weird way. It took a few tries before I could comprehend what was going on. Overall, a decent read for a lazy Sunday afternoon.

Whoa. I laughed my way through this one. Unlike some other commenters, I didn't focus on Noah and Liams relationship. I felt it was more of just background information to the plot. The real deal was the friendship that blossomed between Noah and Kiara. Those two are the ultimate friendship goals. I would love to do a road trip like this someday and include Canada too. Amazing job Secret Aurhor!

Three words: awesome, awesome, awesome! This is a beautiful love story with a straight twist! Excellent writing. I felt Blue's emotions as he discovered himself and his love for Bea. Thank you Secret Author!

Oh! I did enjoy this. Just enough angst and anxiety over a missing kitten to keep my attention. A dog wouldn't deliberately do that to anyone. They bring people together with their silliness and puppy eyes.

I have no clue who wrote this but I enjoyed the tale. It was a fun and sweet story. My fingers are crossed for Nilus and Max.

I agree that Matt has to work on himself before anything else. Admittedly, Gwen isn't the best mother. Not everyone is cut out for it. I have a couple of friends who, quite honestly, I'm surprised even exist. Neither has a maternal figure who could remotely be called mom. At least Gwen recognizes her shortcomings in the motherhood department and is willing to look beyond that in order to support Matt the only way she knows how-- by giving him a roof over his head and a lead on a job. Andy has offered an olive branch. I think he knows there currently is no hope for any kind of attachment from Matt. He's merely planted the seed for something to grow in the future. We'll have to do an @kbois and trust the process and see if it's going to be friendship or something more. Terrific chapter!

Matt definitely needed this closure. Hopefully he can now do a little sightseeing, maybe with the taxi driver while he decides on his next step. I think he always knew that he and Ahmet were not going to have happily ever after. Now that I'm caught up, it's time to start in on the Secret Author stories. I'm glad I have the weekend off!

This broke my heart: Does it matter if it’s not okay? Matthew sat down in the chair to the right of the government representative. "Okay. Hello, Ms. Coleson." It's a clear testament to Matt's frame of mind and his vulnerability. Even though he knows he's not okay, he realizes that he is the only one who will now decide his future. I've got my fingers crossed.

This chapters gave me mixed emotions. I'm angry that Matt has been put into a situation that he doesn't know how to navigate. I'm grateful that Maeve has taken him under her wing. I'm hopeful that Andy will step up and put whatever feelings he has for Matt aside and help him stand on his own two feet so he can figure out his next steps. Great chapter!

Wow... that's like a chihuahua giving birth to a Great Dane. Props to your mom. My mom didn't wield a broom, but she had lethal aim with her slippers. Lol.

I can't imagine what poor Matt is feeling. It must be like being thrown into a new school or job without any preparation. He's lost a few years of his life and will never get them back. Now he has to navigate a world that might not look favorably on him. I hope Andrew can help. Maeve will settle him for now.

I've not much to add to what's been said. I have some catching up to do. Work has been crazy busy and I'm too tired when I get home to do much of anything. I'm absolutely loving this story!

I think knowingly doing something illegal such as what Andy did is perfectly understandable. I think most people with any sort of conscious would do the same if they had the means. Also I think speeding falls under that saying close only counts in horseshoes and grenades. Speeding only counts if you get caught. I'm glad Andy has enlisted his dad's help. I'm looking forward to Matt's reaction when he realizes he's free.

This is what I would consider a great transitional chapter. Andy is moving on with his life and trying to figure things out. It shows that growth is possible for him. Matt has made the most of a bad situation and found solace in Ahmet's arms. Is it the brightest idea? Of course not. It's dangerous and they both know it.

I sort of feel bad for Andy in this chapter. He did the right thing by going to the authorities, only to find out they're aware of Mr. Black and Dante. This is true in most cases. Law enforcement usually knows who the players are in whatever game is being played, whether it be trafficking, drugs, prostitution, gun trade etc. Because they're bound by the legal system of whatever country they're in, their hands are usually tied until they can get enough evidence to make an arrest. Even then, there is no guarantee the bad guys will be convicted. My heart goes out to Matt. He has a long, hard road ahead of him. Excellent writing!

Wow. This is a really thought provoking chapter. A lot of great comments too. This particular part struck me: "Never thought they'd be sexual deviants? Perverts, monsters?" Mr. Black leaned forward. "What exactly did you think they would be?" Andrew sat in the darkened room with the obscene salesman and wondered the same thing. Reality is a harsh taskmaster. That last sentence is the absolute truth. Most people will never cross paths with the likes of a Mr. Black. For those that do, the reality of what he does can hit as hard as a semi running into a brick wall at 70mph. I think Mr. Black's words did that to Andrew. His eyes are now open to exactly what kind of people are involved in this type of business. You mentioned that your husband had to deal with these types of criminals in his work and it changed him. I have a friend who worked as a detective and he was part of a team who investigated traffickers. He lasted three years and he isn't the same person he was when we first met. I've known him over 20 years and he's better now but he says there are things that will stick with him forever. I'm glad your husband is happier now. When it comes to Mr. Black calling Andrew by his first name, I agree with @kbois, he's a man with a superiority complex. You mentioned that he must be cultured in order to deal with his clients and I agree. If he called people by there last name I would be inclined to say he's ex-military, but that's not the case. Awesome chapter!

I can't write directions down to the corner store, let alone a story of any sort. There are authors who go to extreme lengths for their art. The same is true of actors for their roles. Many of them will do drastic things, like Matthew McConaughey in Dallas Buyers Club . He lost a ridiculous amount of weight to portray his character.. to the point where he was emaciated. Great chapter.

I'm really nervous for Andrew. I hope he's not in too deep.

I'm playing catch up here. Real life has gotten busy lately. But on a positive note I have 4 chapters to read. Yay! Matt is in deep doodoo right about now. I'm scared for him. There seems to be a lot more to this Dante guy too. I wonder if he'll end up helping Matt out in some way?
-
I've read some of @kbois stories and you're right, she is an excellent writer and so are you. I'm glad to hear you say you're not adverse to killing off a character when it's part of your plan. I can see there is a difference in your style and it works so well for this story. I've never written anything other than papers for school or proposals for work, but I imagine that it's not easy. This is one of the best stories I've come across in a while. Thank you for sharing!

I'm definitely hooked. Not too many authors draw me in with the first chapter. Well done @Mikiesboy!

I've been looking for a story with some intrigue and suspense. This fits the bill perfectly! I'm a bit scared for Matt. As this is the first chapter I don't see it going well for him. Andy has piqued my interest too. I can't wait to get to the next chapter!

OMG! What a beautiful ending to this chapter. they cried, not for the loss of the shadow shifter but with gratitude for everything he gave them from the afterlife. Kage would live on forever. This brought tears to my eyes! I'm so happy for the four of them. Ashton and Austin will make great doctors. Tyler's family is part of the pack and they fit right in. Super ending!

OMFG! What an incredible swan song of an ending. Caleb an Vann's reconciliation was beautiful. I cried when Silas died. Not many authors can make me do that. It was a perfect chapter to end the Hybrid Journey series. I need to read it again. It was just that good. Thank you for this Christmas gift and safe travels to you and your family.
