I can see at least three challenges or tests or skills that Jamie and his crew for now have to master. Find a way to electronically decapitate the machines built by the ancients and now controlled by the senior mages. The machines would be rendered inert and powerless. If the face machines soon Jamie might find a way to stop them by trying various methods. Then find a way to stop the gray mages from being compelled. Once freed they might run away not wanting to take part in a mass destruction event and also might flee when they see Jamie and crew be effective fighters and stopping the machines,too, Jamie knows from Kundun that he has to stop the mages from using their magic. But how? Will he have to wait till he faces Urvan in battle before he knows how to handle him?

Jaime and his associates did what they needed to do. They reported back and transferred knowledge so it would not be lost. They also had a warm and friendly time and renewed their connections and built goodwill. The history lesson opened new ideas. The humans were from another world who traveled to this world by a vehicle and not magic, It is possible that the growth of mages in the population will continue till everyone if a mage. I can see Jamie is helping to speed the increase in mages. I am worried that Master Thorvil has not returned. No one is too bothered as of yet. Could Thorvil have been captured ? Might he be held hostage by the evil mages at Methuwan to thwart Jaime?

Armand and Colin have turned fishing trips into a family/friends enjoyable art form. Everyone seems to love participating. They welcome others. What would happen if they were not successful against Porvus and Urvan? What would happen to all the knowledge they had come by in their quest? That it all might be lost was an appalling idea. Gone.

The team decided to press on after hearing the two bad guys who fled away not wanting to be part of what Urvan planned '---mass destruction of their enemies. Jamie and the others must press on. The stakes are too high to fail. Jamie made a very smart move, He relocated back to the mage's workshop at the Prince's castle. They really could use the advice of more experienced mages.
