He almost needed to add Lyn and Alexander to be part of his party with other high status people. They are his best friends from college and have turned out to be successful as a doctor and a lawyer, so they bring credit to him as people who have done well. Lyn kept him academically in shape. Brad seems not inclined to be gay and did not take up Lyn's hints and strong admiration for him. I am sure he could read he signals and knew how to set limits to keep Lyn away.
