  1. Fantastic story, Loved the characters and narrative. I usually go for longer tales but this was a good length for a quicker read. SPOILER ALERT! I'm a sucker for happy endings so the final chapter had me in tears but they were happy ones.
  2. Beautiful story that spans 20 years. The characters are well-rounded, especially Craig, Graham, and Button. There are some ups and downs, but overall it's a heart-warming story of family and triumph over adversity. Many thanks for your hard work.
  3. Great story, I tend to go for longer ones but this just had enough to get my teeth into. Ideally I think it would be better if the chapters were separated so the chapter length was a bit smaller. It moves at a good pace and although there is some drama I was reaching for the tissues.
  4. Second time reading this series, I love all things supernatural so this was right up my street. Each character is well written and the stories weave together to create a strong narrative. I tend to read longer stories but as these are interlinked there was plenty to get my teeth into.

    Chapter 25

God I hope nothing happens to Greg but given how many chapters are left I have a feeling he might fall by the wayside (I hope not)
  6. Fantastic story with well written characters. I enjoy longer stories and this didn't disappoint, the pacing is just right and although there are some ups and downs on the whole its a feel good story with a fantastic epilogue.
  7. I don't normally leave bad reviews and although I enjoyed the story this is not complete (even though it says it is). I don't expect the author to see this as they haven't been on the site for many years. I don't know if this was meant to be a series of books or if it has been finished and posted on another site.
  8. I'm writing this review knowing that it is unlikely to be read by the author but it is a really great story. There are a few ups and downs, but it definitely isn't going to have you reaching for the tissues. Its a good length, not too long to seem daunting but long enough to have you invested in the characters. The epilogue is particularly good and rounds of the story giving a glimpse into the future which I always find satisfying (I wish more authors would do it). All in all its a feel good tale that has me eager to read the authors other stories.
  9. Great story just wish it was a bit longer. I would have preferred a different ending but that was the authors choice. Hey what can I say i'm a hopeless romantic lol.
  10. Second time reading this story, even though it took a couple a chapters before I realized. It's generally an upbeat story which I enjoy (sometimes its nice not to have too much drama). Really loved the characters and the narrative, hey I'm a sucker for a happy ending. My only issue (its a small one) is that I would have liked a longer epilogue may be set further in the future. Unless of course you were planning a follow up lol. Given that so much time has passed since this was published I'm guessing that is unlikely.
  11. A great conclusion to "Second Shot", if you haven't read it you should before reading this.
  12. A fantastic story with engaging characters. I read this over a few days, and thoroughly enjoyed it so much I only took a break when my eyes couldn't focus on the screen anymore. I was lucky that I was able to read the follow up short story straight after finishing "Second Shot" and although I still want to read more about the principal characters I do think that it brings the story to a conclusion. I'm a bit of a fan of the longer stories on here and this definitely was one of those.

    Fallen

Loved this story, but I'm a sucker for the supernatural. This was the second time reading this but it was still enjoyable with a cast of characters that draws you in. It would have got 5 stars but it feels as if there should be a follow on story or an epilogue. Surprised it hasn't been reviewed/recommended more.
  14. Great story but its not complete on here, I've read this before and the author does mention that it was posted on Nifty. I found it on there again and there are 3 more chapters posted on that platform.
  15. This is well written and the characters have depth. My only real issue with the story is that it is marked as complete. I don't know if the author planned on a sequel or adding an epilogue but the it just finishes at a very odd place. I know that not all stories have a happy ending but this has no ending at all. It leaves the reader with so many unanswered questions. So if like to have some resolution then this is probably not for you.
  16. My second time reading this. Its a great story and paced really well throughout. Its a shame it hasn't had anymore reviews as its a heartwarming tale with some ups and downs. I especially liked the ending and the last chapter that takes us into the future. I get so attached to the characters and the last chapter satisfies my need to know what happened in the following years.
  17. Second time reading this, although it has been a couple of years. Good storyline and the pace keeps you interested. Does feel a bit like the beginning of a series of books but that said this does work as a standalone piece
  18. This is my second reading, really loved the story and just wished that we got the follow up book that was hinted at the end. Overall it does work as a stand alone tale but it definitely left questions unanswered.
  19. This is a good story if you want something fairly light and fast-paced. The book is written from the perspective of several different characters which can be confusing (a quick note to say which character was narrating would have been useful) Its not overly dramatic so a box of tissues isn't needed but the story moves on but there do seem to be some unanswered questions and I think it would have benefited from an epilogue of some sort.
  20. I know it is unlikely that the author will read this as this was posted back in 2011. I enjoyed the storyline but this is not a complete and stops just as the action ramps up. I have to presume that there was supposed to be at least another follow up book (think Harry Potter, Deathly Hallows part 1)
  21. A feel-good story that is paced well and ideal for when you need a bit of a pick me up. This is the second time reading this and I enjoyed it just as much as the first time.

A great story but it's a difficult read to be honest. If you're looking for an upbeat tale then this probably isn't for you but you do get a happy ending, although I would have loved an epilogue to catch up with them in a few years. It is a pretty scathing representation of the American fostering system and I hope that not all foster parents are like the ones portrayed in this story.
  23. Great story with engaging characters, I'm looking forward to book 2. I found the pacing perfect and it's a generally upbeat (I hope that continues)
  24. I really enjoyed the story, I have a feeling I've read it a few years before when I first joined Gay authors. The characters are engaging and I didn't expect the ending. In some ways I was a little sad that the more predictable conclusion didn't happen but I was still happy about the way it finished (I'm a sucker for a happy ending)
  25. Really enjoyed this story. The age gap thing resonated with me as my partner is just over 20 years my senior. Thank god the Mum came to the rescue to sort them out.
