    The Seven7h Magpie

The first two words that came to mind were “hauntingly delicious.” Second thought was: don’t piss off a magpie!

    Car Boot

Oh, stinky boot! Not having noticed the story was on hold when starting, I’m now left on the edge of a cliff, anxious to read further.

    Short Story

Well, that was unique! LOL The only cringeworthy part was Donald Trump for HUD. Who would have thought in 2011 that it could be so much worse?

    Short Story

Interesting and well done. Smart move on Brad’s part to leave a voicemail for his roomie. Bravo to him and Jeff for contacting all the scumbags’ former victims. He didn’t get everything he deserved, but it was a start.
  5. Buy One, Get Two and Three... is a well-researched, beautifully written story of three young men recovering from a traumatic past and coming into their own. Together, they provide each other strength, compassion, support, and a safe place to fall. Readers might want a box of tissues handy, as there are plenty of sad and happy tears to be had.

    Chapter 70

Such a great story, I had to come back for a second read. It would be fun to look forward to the future and how life develops for the triplets.

    Chapter 66

Ugh, insecurities and even worse in survivors. Poor Daniel couldn’t tell how much he was truly loved.

    Chapter 57

    Daauumn so freaking sweet!

    Chapter 4

Back for another read, and I’m loving this story as much as I did the first time. Reading the comments on the various characters is amusing knowing what’s to come.
  10. The Secret Santa Game is a delightful story of an imaginative teacher, Richard Donaldson, who inspires both change and growth in students. What is presented as a reimagining of a yearly game into an educational contest has far-reaching effects, affecting not only students but faculty alike. If only such a program could be introduced into real-life schools!

    KSM

KSM is a deeply personal, compelling sharing from the author’s life. As challenging as it was to read, the writing had to be even moreso. Life’s not fair, and death even less, no matter the cause or end. I applaud JayT for his courage and have no doubt readers will be touched as deeply as I was.

Like you, I too believe in the right to die. When one weighs the quality-of-life vs the struggle to hold on and endure the agonizing suffering that lies ahead, is it really any wonder why such a choice is made? So many look at an individual exercising that right as a selfish, uncaring act. However, is it really, or do they hope we love them enough to understand and ultimately support their decision? As for why someone is chosen to be the one, perhaps it is a final act of love, Brutal? Most certainly; however, who would love him more in those final moments to see that he was attended to with the same degree of care and compassion? Having personal experience with my soulmate’s eleven catastrophic illnesses and all that that entailed, I was thankful my beloved held on those eight long agonizing years, fighting the good fight. I don’t know how he found the strength, but he did, and I will forever honor the courage that took. Had he made a different choice, I loved him enough to respect his final decision. In the end, the loss is devastating no matter how it comes. Thirteen years on, the tears still come and dreams of what ifs remain, but I hold on to the treasured memories of love and times shared. May those same gifts left behind bring you peace, comfort, and healing in the days ahead. Finally, being pissed is not only okay, but it’s also allowed and understandable.
  13. Boxed In: A Christmas Story introduces the reader to Clint, a big, burly, seemingly broodish, aloof man who, by all appearances, does not play well with others, and Rory, a younger man who is confused not only by his co-worker but also by his own feelings as well. Stuck together in a snowstorm, will they finally find a way to communicate?

  14. The Light is an especially powerful story for those of us lucky enough to have experienced such love. This one certainly has earned a tissue warning.

    Chapter 1 The Light

What a powerful piece! Being one of the most fortunate to have experienced such depth in love, this got me right in the feels. My beloved fought valiantly, surviving countless near deaths. He kept telling me it was our love that kept him alive. Even at the end, in hospice, he refused to surrender, but the human body can only withstand so much... eleven catastrophic illnesses. It’s been 13 years, and though thru many tears, this lovely story helped shine the light on the memory of the love we shared even brighter. Thank you for that.
  16. Journey to Salvation is yet another magnificent offering by Headstall, not to be missed. As drsawzall stated, this author is truly the undisputed master of the western genre! =

    The Night Before

The Night Before relates a story all too common and familiar for far too many of us. Well written, thought-provoking, and hits right on the nerves.

    The Night Before

The next best thing was a black. Don’t take it the wrong way! It’s the way things are around here. WTF, dude seriously needs a wake-up call. Sadly, been there, too many of us have, and not just for skin color. Bigotry is alive and thriving. 😭
  20. When it All Seemed Okay, and the Storm Never Came provides the reader with a glimpse into the aftermath of two friends’ devastating experience. One asks, how will their friends move forward? First, though, who will be believed? As for the reader, what would you do?

    The Converstion

While I understand readers’ desire for a continuation, I also appreciate the author’s choice to end where they did. Personally, as someone who has been affected by a similar situation both personally and professionally, I am also interested in how others might react to such a revelation.
  22. A Blind Spirit tells the devastating tale of hatred faced by an innocent, lost soul.
  23. How The Boy Who Hunts Ghosts (...And Kisses Them) has managed to escape review is beyond surprising. LittleBuddhaTW provides readers with a sweet, tender tale of a young life violently stolen and the brave young man whose heart reaches across the great divide to discover the truth.
  24. Same, and while often unpleasant, it hasn't always ended well for the party overheard.
  25. Nope, no blame, but indeed a big thank you!
