Love lost, found and the journey in between. That which Greyson Myers takes is a bit circuitous though, in the end,... Well, no spoilers here, one must read and find out!
...if something happens during the afternoon, we get to scramble and go with a “breaking news” broadcast. With one of the worst presidents ever sitting in Washington, that’s always a possibility. I so needed that laugh, thank you!
“There’s an alligator between my legs.” Ok, that's all it would take, there'd be no more swamps for me! What a nightmare trip and then to return to find a flat tire. Sorry, I couldn't help but laugh at the last line.
Hmmm, ok so the ending was sweet and it's great Mark came to his senses. However, I must confess to feeling a bit perplexed by Mark's behavior at prom. He's been so in love with Dean yet it was as if he made it a point to make a big display of being lip locked with the head cheerleader? I get he didn't want to experience rejection but that was seriously cruel! Personally, I think he got off way to easy.
Last Call, though fiction, deals with a reality that happens far too often. KC has done a magnificent job painting a picture of the turmoil of emotions felt by both main characters.
Feeling a bit speechless here with my heart in my throat. All these years later and reading about a character in a fictional piece working in Tower One in September of 2001... Well, I was right back in that moment. Thank you for writing with compassion and respect.
Absolutely stunning. One could feel the heart wrenching emotional pain as the Keith and Aidan wordlessly shared their individual traumas. Sometimes simply being there is not only enough but what is needed the most. With a genuine connection made they could begin, introducing themselves to the other.
Must be in a bit of mood this evening as in reading through the description and note, I suddenly chuckled seeing "...be prepared for at least a bit of straight sex" thought, hmmm that's a different trigger warning.
At any rate, working through stories offered here and am struck by Jack Poignet's ability to stunningly paint images with words.
What an interesting take on body building and vampires. Caught in a cage chasing the perfect form not so dissimilar to those who become hooked. Well done.
A unique take on were-creature, vampire and witch universe. From the start, characters and pacing draw the reader in and ensures audience remains engaged.
Such an exquisitely satisfying ending. So many possibilities lay ahead for Renato perhaps we might have an opportunity to hear of his future adventures?
Henry beamed, now fully committed. “It’s all about preparation, son. You can’t just park a barge like that in a boathouse without dredging the channel first, if you catch my drift.”
“Stretching!” Odetta
Henry and Odetta are adorably hilarious! The lines they come up with remind me of conversations shared with a dear friend of mine.
Personally, I'd love to see Timmy get a shot in. He's sure earned it! Yeah, I know the story has been written but one can dream. What, me evil? Bwahahaha
Oh my, what a lovely example of a loving, devoted mother - not! Great line though:
“And you haven’t changed all that much, have you? I still remember you sucking your cute little thumbs. Now look at you. All grown up… sucking dick.”
Well, they do belong to an interesting pack:
"Breeding committee"
“If you need volunteers—we’ll take shifts.”
Now here's a line I could have happily used earlier this evening:
“I am going to strangle you with your own spine.”
Pardon, the "perfect ending..."? Ugh, what a relief to see there are more chapters ahead! Am so wrapped up in this story I shudder to think of the comment that would be left now if this was the last page. LOL
