  1. Well, it's the thought that counts, Ash.
  2. Happy birthday! Guess what... you share a b-day with me.
  3. Thanks everyone! It can't believe it's already here. Actually, It won't be for another hour and a half according to my clock.
  4. It's been a while hasn't it? As some might have noticed, I haven't updated my blog in quite some time. I guess you could say that I haven't really had my focus here. As some might have also noticed, I'm not posting much. Thus, don't call me a post whore, because I'm totally not! I've been a good boy. I haven't even checked to the top 20 overall posters in quite some time. Am I still even number 4? Okay, I just checked, and I am actually still #4. My post per day average has slipped considerably though. For those who thought I'd reach 5,000 posts by the end of the year, it's not looking promising. So what have I been doing? Well, there's school of course. That's going well. I'm taking an intro to web design class. It's going just fine. I love working with HTML. It's fun. Then there's database management. It focuses exclusively on Microsoft Office Access 2007. It's fairly easy really. However, I wish the class focused on MySQL. What else is there? I've been playing Starkingdoms with a couple of members from GA! It's a whole lot of fun, and I'm doing a lot better this round. I would love to see more members playing next round. It's so much fun. Anyway, I have a job interview tomorrow. I really hope I get it. Oh, and by the way, it looks like my mom will be getting married in the spring. I hope to move far away after that, especially since I won't have to worry about taking care of her anymore. Where am I going? That's an interesting question. It may be a matter of convenience and a number of factors that I cannot determine at this time.
  5. I happen to look forward to this one. I love Harry Potter.
  6. Happy birthday, Sharon!
  7. I'm not even sure how it's done other than through a Google search. Let's see, I hate it when people don't know anything but think they know everything. It makes me want to kick someone in the balls.
  8. Yes, it's a good title for a story, and it's what I am doing. It's time to put plans into action. I can have a better life for myself, one with reduced stress and more pleasure. I have come across a business opportunity, and I am going to take it. Tomorrow night could very well change my life forever. Lately I have not felt any inspiration to write. I don't know what it is, but it's just not what belongs on my plate right now. Hopefully that will change soon, because I do want to finish a story by next spring. Regardless, I'll end up posting chapters anyway. That may give me incentive to write more just to please everyone.
  9. Joe, I continue to struggle with depression myself. It doesn't make you a pussy. It's a combination of life's events and the chemicals in your brain. The important thing is getting better. I'm not going to say if it was the right decision or not, because I don't really know for sure. I will say that you do need to fix the problem before you start a relationship with anyone else though. It's important to be at a better place so that you can give of yourself completely. Keep your head up. You'll get better. Try meditation. It does seem to help. If you want, I can send you a link to a good one.
  10. Overall, I consider myself to be more of a deist. I am not one to say that there isn't something out there. As for the economy, I hope a solution is found. If our next president plays his cards right, he could get a lot of credit for economic improvements.
  11. Well, I've thought about getting my tongue pierced. I'm not sure if I will go through with it or not. Anyway, it's okay that you're busy, Jamie. You have to do well in your classes and have fun whenever possible.
  12. My new one is a fantasy one in which a warrior has mounted a tiger (and not in a naughty way).
  13. Thanks Bob! I will be okay. I just need some time. Right now it's just difficult.
  14. Happy birthday!
  15. We often dare to dream. Someone, or something, comes along that you want more than anything. The problem comes when you realize what is probably lost to you forever. It's the ultimate in not being inspired. It's problematic to say the least, but who knows what will happen? It just makes me wish I could crawl under a rock, but I can't do that. I'm much better than I was a few months ago, but now that I am more "normal", it actually makes things more difficult to deal with. It may be a while, but I'll eventually no longer care. The problem is that I must wrap myself up in something else completely.
  16. I too seem to be uninspired. Part of it has to do with not being able to have what I want. I'm sure that doesn't help much, but that's part of life. I hope you find inspiration again very soon.

    Oh yeah...

I'm sorry to hear that. I thought it was going well.
  18. Yeah, and I have never been a postaholic.

    Back to SK

Well, I just started playing the new round of Star Kingdoms. last night. This is awesome. So far, I know of 4 other GA members who are playing. 2 of them, Demetz and W.L., are in my sector, which is really cool. I also know that Lissa and Mattie are playing as well. This is going to be f**king awesome! I think I'm getting a much better start this time, and I think I can do quite well. It's a fun game, and if you're interested, start quickly, because the round is already in full swing. Being any more than a day behind won't do you much good. I also suggest a strategy guide.
  20. Well, it's just more prove how awesome this story really is.
  21. Now that you've mentioned it, it has been that way all but once. One time, it really did end up in disaster as Eric broke his leg. It could have been much worse, but I don't think that brought forth any positive change, at least none that I can remember. It's been almost a year already since the infamous Chapter 19 of LTMP and the infamous first post of Tiger.
  22. I sometimes have a hard time going to sleep. Thus, I am listening to Bolero, one of my favorite musical pieces. It has a variety of beautiful instruments playing the chorus, and it blends so well It even gives me goosebumps. There is nothing wrong with a love of classical music. It reminds us of the days of yore when life was simpler. By simpler, I mean that the world was not modernized. If you wanted to hear a song like this, you had to go to where it was being performed live. While that is still a favorite past-time, it is by far not the only way. I often think about what life was like in those times. Sure people worked, but minds were rarely, if ever, idle. Working the fields or at early factories was difficult labor. They both had their dangers, but people were more proud of what they did. Now a lot of those jobs have been replaced by machines. I remember talking to elderly people in Southeast Missouri several years ago. Cotton is an important crop for the region, and Southeast Missouri is the only part in which it can be grown. The area was once a swamp. It has since been drained, leave one of the most fertile areas in the US. It's amazing. People grow crops all the way to their houses. Around here, there are a lot more cattle. Just imagine what is was like even 150 years ago when cotton was picked by hand. Phonographs had not even been invented yet, so there was not a way to listen to songs. Church was the main place where people could listen to music at all, aside from occasions when a band would play, but most of the people in that particular region would not have been close enough had never been to an opera or a symphony. While such things were probably available in St. Louis and Memphis, it is unlikely that any of them traveled often. What takes two hours now, took many hours, and most would probably not heave heard of Ravel. In fact, he would not even have been born until 17 years. Still, little changed, and the phonograph was very new at the time of his birth. Essentially, they would have been a luxury for the rich. It makes you stop and think. We have reached a stage where our understanding of science is improving daily. Computers are slowly taking over, and we are the root cause. Yet, it seems that we are just as stressed as our ancestors if not more so. This has shown that we are anxious creatures by nature. Even with all the modernization, we're still explorers as we have always been. It took many millenia to travel from the Old World to the new world. Many faced disease and starvation to make such journeys, yet we bitch about things when we have it so much easier. The only reason why the world was simpler was because people worked to survive. Fields had to be plowed with simple devices, and seeds were planted by hand. Now machines, under our guidance, perform these tasks for us. Yet we take it all for granted and forgot about our roots. As our intelligence grows, we become closer to two separate paths. One leads to further progression while the other leads to death. Science can save us, but it can also destroy us. These are our main worries unlike people who lived 150 years ago. I'm sure they sometimes complained, but they were more likely to have a good reason.

    The Drop

I think you've had enough thwaps. However, people often want to believe that bad times are impending. I have had this problem on more than one occasion. This doesn't means that it was good thing for me to feel that way. In fact, it's definitely a bad thing. I figured out that such thinking was the cause of my depression, anxiety, and even occasional agitation. I have learned that it's best just to let it go. I'm in a stage of life where I know I have to make changes that will lead to my happiness. It's not easy to allow oneself to leave the worry behind, but it is a necessary step.
  24. Thanks you two. It definitely puts my mind at ease. As for Palin... truth hurt?
