  1. Or offer him the several kilos of dope that Aaron Carter got caught with Almost every major star and singer has been caught with some kind of scandal, I wonder what Justin's will be?
  2. Awesome, it's Mario going gangsta ! Love it for the fun twist on a classic, which kind of makes me want to turn on the emulator and play the games again. (My Nintendo died after a duck hunt session blew it out ) Probably a little dated to my generation and everyone under 30.
  3. Thanks guys, I can't wait to try the food. Are there any faux pas, I should watch out for when drinking, eating, or just grabbing a bite? I heard I am not suppose to over tip as it might be a bad sign on my part, but I don't know if there's any etiquette for certain things. I don't want to stand out too much (A chubby 5'10 Chinese guy in a German town is already bad enough ).
  4. I am going to be in Europe next month, specifically Germany and will be traveling a bit. The plan right now looks like I will be around central Europe visiting Austria, Switzerland, Belgium, and potentially northern Italy or Poland. Beer is definitely going to be part of the meal, but I do not know what is the best kind in that area or what is traditional for meals. For me, I am a big lager or Ale guy, when it comes to beer, there is something nice about the taste of wood (Gay jokes aside ) in a nice cold beer. I am not a Wine tasting person, but I do enjoy Zinfandel and Chardonnay if the taste fits the meal. Same goes with traditional red wines, I like something that works with my meal, not kill me by overpowering spice or dulls my tongue. Can anyone give me some hints about the cuisine? Any cultural faux pas I should avoid? Also, are there specific foods that I should avoid at all costs or indulge in like there is no tomorrow? This is my first time in Europe, so I want to have a good bite of it.
  5. This Anime is very funny and short at 5 minutes an episode (You have to watch up to episode 20, then you will get hooked on the humor); it makes fun of nations and cultural idiosyncrasies. The plot basically turn nations and countries into characters. The first series deals with World War II Allies and Axis, and the second series deals with more modern issues. 1st steries http://www.hulu.com/hetalia-axis-powers 2nd series http://www.hulu.com/hetalia-world-series It's like a more politically incorrect version of the old American Cartoon "hysteria" with a little more satire and overt gay references. This episode about Switzerland and Lichtenstein made me think of old bob, didn't know Switzerland was so nice to a little Lichtenstein : Seriously, there's some fun cultural notes in these episodes that are both funny and interesting. I know the material is offensive at times to cultural sensitivity, but it's so cute. Also, Italy is such a bottom in this series
  6. Poor kids, there is no forgiveness for betrayal on such level. FYI James, the DA story has gone national as well as this was linked from CNN: http://www.hlntv.com/article/2011/11/10/sadusky-case-and-missing-da-investigation?hpt=hp_t1 If this was an organized child prostitution ring, there's probably mob enforcers involved, so get ready for RICO hearings, if this story pans out as more than a rumor.
  7. I wouldn't be surprised if there was a mob connection. College sports betting is huge and money speaks louder than a conscience in America. While the mob might seem somewhat noble like the Godfather movies or "Sopranos" on TV with high "morals", honestly, how many illegal porn rings do these guys own (Gay, Straight, Bi, Beast, Pedo, or whatever your vice is), how many underage prostitutes are working for them both girls and boys for ALL customers, and other associated businesses. The American image of the mob is not the reality. If there was a connection, it's a cold case now, unless some one rats some one else out about the "missing" DA. I doubt the cops or the FBI will find a lead beyond just the child abuse issues.
  8. Shoot, I am a day late for the Birthday of Nephy, the dark one Happy extremely late Birthday
  9. Happy Bday KC!
  10. James, I get that it's complicated and the hierarchy sucks, but people have to take initiative. You can't let a monster lose in the world even if it is not politically convenient to do something about it. If Joe wanted to do the right thing, he could've laid the case in front and center, removed the guy, and asked for discretion from the authorities privately and with discretion. A five minute news blip is better than a several weeks of talking heads, your other team's leadership being decimated, an entire career washed away, and the untold victims that this man had molested over the years. "All it takes for evil to succeed is for good men to do nothing" As for the possibility of a cover up, if there was a criminal conspiracy to hide child abuse at Penn state, it would be really interesting. The Catholic Church is still reeling from its own code of silence, who knows how far the rabbit actually goes.
  11. It's kind of funny and sad at the same time. When a gay character is effeminate, I wonder what zany thing will happen next. When a gay character is normal and average, the character will have to sell himself to me (Yes, Hollywood man whores aside ). It is for that reason that I prefer Science fiction and Fantasy character offerings of gay and bisexual characters. This is not true though for Lesbian characters, who by in large seem to have captured a great median between sense and sensibility. While the "manly" lesbian appears from time to time, Lesbian characters have broken out in their roles. They can be mothers, cops, gun toting vigilantes, drug dealers, prostitutes, and everything under the sun. What gay males need is a break out character, some one who can be be tough like a leather guy, sensitive to their feelings like an emo, fearful like most closet cases, and simply put human. The reason why effeminate gay male characters are still the norm rather than the exception is that there is still no breakout character for us. Lesbians have had a feast of strong female characters. Heck, whenever I hear a girl at a Halloween party do the shrill "yell" in make believe armor, I still think of Xena and I was only like 10 when I caught the shows re-runs on as a kid (It was campy, but I loved it). Recently, new shows have female leads, who are openly lesbians without the issue of their sexuality bogging them down. Can some one name a gay breakout character with the same effect?
  12. It'll be fun to travel around with just what's on your back, but I love trains as well, so it wouldn't be a complete backpacking trip.
  13. Yeah, I know. Some had to stop due to health issues, and others had problems in their personal life that they needed to resolve first, but still write. I had my own existential issue due to a few bad relationships as well, so I haven't written for a while on Roland's site either (Roland is the author of the CSU series The U.N.I.T ). http://castleroland.net/index.php?page=stories My Stories Exodus and World's of Difference on there haven't seen a new chapter in a long time, sadly. I actually have both stories outlined and a general plot ready, but I just don't feel like writing it for some reason. My heart is cold and empty for writing my stories at the moment.
  14. Hehe, been a while since I've worked with ACfan, Roland, D&B, Ilu, and the others, but that sounds interesting. Only problem is trying to get the continuity together. I mean even for "Dark Vacation", Commie and the gang had to do a large deal of work to get those stories in line. You won't believe how hard it is to work out CSU material with so many threads and storytelling genres. I think one of these days, they will need to pull another DC comic, "Crisis of Infinite Earths" again. ("AHBL" in CSU was the equivalent).
  15. I love ghost movies on Halloween; even though, I am scared of ghosts. Anyone ever saw a real ghost?
  16. Wohoo! You go girls!
  17. There is actually a fun hypothesis about inter-planetary pollination of life. As the solar system was forming, asteroids and comets would carry matter from one planet to another, which would hold the trace material for life. As exobiology has shown, bacteria can survive inside asteroids and other stellar fragments for a good period of time, i.e. the bacteria from rocks. (Not just the infamous martian meteorite) Maybe, they aren't aliens at all just our distant redkneck cousins from mercury with a hot foot One thing, I would love to look into more is Venus. The planet is so often forgotten for Mars, (No, I don't think people are being chauvinistic about those planets ). We know that on earth carbon based life forms can survive in high pressure, high temperature, and toxic environments to most humans, so why not Venus. It would be cool to find Venusians, although based on the old stories, they probably would be fems
  18. Let me get the probe-ulator out (don't worry if it's shape like phallic object, it'll be just a repressed memory afterward.) On a serious note, I do think we are not alone and aliens have more to do than sexual experiments. Sometimes, I do wonder if our ancestors ever met aliens and maybe we are some kind of developmental curve that will one day take us to stars. In the last few hundred years, humanity has developed faster than in the last ten thousand years combined; we have been hitting a stride in development. Maybe, it's like inter-Galactic "pay it forward" program. An older civilization helps a younger civilization develop until they either kill themselves or they become smart enough to join the group as a peer, then they're assigned a civilization. (Don't steal that idea, I am going to use it, it's trade marked W.L ) Or, we could all live in the Battlestar Galactica universe and there are no intelligent life forms except humans, human cyborgs, and robots with a bad 1980's sounding voice, plus some unknown entity that acts as he wants and laughs at the mortals for their foolish infidelities and soap opera like lives .
  19. I really need to get back on the treadmill
  20. Seems logical to me I loved him as Sylar in Heroes, hands down one of his best performances. Also a big Wohoo! Another Star Trek actor, wonder if George Takei knew? Kirk and Spock shippers can commence on new stories now in the parallel universe. (I want Anton though, who can say no to Chekov, plus he's my age )
  21. Try it out again James the last season was really fun to watch (Arcs are where science fiction and fantasy shows improve), besides, there are a few crossovers with Eureka that makes the shows kind of part one universe Even after Eureka goes into the sunset, we still have Warehouse 13 and the Alphas (a blatant Heroes rip-off, but still quite fun to watch). SGU is another story, liked it, but thought it was a little too far outside the stargate universe. At least Atlantis still had stargate stories with alien cultures we can understand (They speak English in the pegasus galaxy, too ).By the end, the show had gone down in ratings dramatically, because many of the old Stargate fans had jumped ship. Caprica for me was the show that shouldn't have been canceled, I really loved how the story was evolving between the AI robots, Cylons, and humans of the twelve colonies. It was interesting. Again, BSG fans jumped off, because there was just not enough tension (BSG had the gall to nearly kill off the main male lead in season 1 finale and install a military dictatorship, name a show that could do that and still look great on TV)
  22. Okay, Am I the only gay man who loves this show? I just read the review from After Elton and wondered what others thought about the show: http://www.afterelton.com/tv/recaps/warehouse-13-311 Probably not the only fan, but I haven't notice many fans of the series. I mean you have a fun gay friendly science fiction/fantasy show, campy objects with magical properties, and lots of Indiana Jones-esque action. While the fact that they had or still have (If the watch does what fans are hoping for by turning back time) a gay main character with so much untapped potential and character development is awesome and great to see on TV. I also love the subtext lesbianism between Myka and HG (yes, it was there even in season 2). I love strong women in science fiction along with strong gay men; this show at its best has a combination of both in the season finale.
  23. Grr. I want me a redneck I'm already a geek, so I just need a guy with a gun.
  24. Just wanted to share a classic poem for my thoughts on the day, it might sound religious, but at its heart there is a deep humanism: THE SECOND COMING By William Butler Yeats Turning and turning in the widening gyre The falcon cannot hear the falconer; Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold; Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world, The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere The ceremony of innocence is drowned; The best lack all conviction, while the worst Are full of passionate intensity. Surely some revelation is at hand; Surely the Second Coming is at hand. The Second Coming! Hardly are those words out When a vast image out of Spiritus Mundi Troubles my sight: a waste of desert sand; A shape with lion body and the head of a man, A gaze blank and pitiless as the sun, Is moving its slow thighs, while all about it Wind shadows of the indignant desert birds. The darkness drops again but now I know That twenty centuries of stony sleep Were vexed to nightmare by a rocking cradle, And what rough beast, its hour come round at last, Slouches towards Bethlehem to be born?
  25. Sounds very interesting and listen to your heart. If it makes you feel like writing, then write it. Although, listening to my heart sometimes leaves my stories unfinished, too. I know the dilemma.
