I prefer sweet. I’m not into the Sriracha thing either! ;-)

I have a difficult enough time trying to remember the name and details about one person. I’d never be able to keep separate the details of more than one person’s life! Since I’m not a very aggressive person, I’d probably end up the third wheel in what seems likely to me to be an unstable situation. ;-)
  3. I have shared many things that I should probably have only shared with my therapist about having formerly been homeless for two years. That’s more than enough exposure here. I was brought up in a family where we never shared feelings, this is scary enough for me. ;-)
  4. I don’t even like having my picture taken! Definitely no selfies! ;-)
  5. Well it was hot all the time, most of the people had black (-colored) hair, and we all ran around in Zoris (plastic sandals) instead of shoes! Plus just like colonial Kenya, most of the people in charge were white! (Hawaii had graduated from US Territory to Statehood only 8 years previous, about two years before ‘Barry’ was born.)
  6. Nobody wants or needs to see my face carved in stone! ;-) I mean it’s nice enough and only racists have called me ugly, but…
  7. I don’t think they’re planning to add any more faces to Mount Rushmore… ;-)
  8. Don't confuse confidence with arrogance. Arrogance is being full of yourself, feeling you're always right, and believing your accomplishments or abilities make you better than other people. People often believe arrogance is excessive confidence, but it's really a lack of confidence. Arrogant people are insecure, and often repel others. Truly confident people feel good about themselves and attract others to them. ~ Christie Hartman

    Enough

I understand the power of verbal abuse. If I allow those voices to continue to chip away at my mind, they will eat up what life i have left, and follow me to my grave. I know how hard is to tune out those toxic echoes from our past. Chin up moggy!
  12. Oh my goodness does this song take me back! I can remember this one being in the stack of 45's my sister and I owned. This song reminds me of picnics, and playgrounds. Innocent days of Good Humor ice cream trucks, taking Pepsi bottles back to the mom and pop store for penny candies, and listening to my teenage baby sitter talk about boys with her girlfriends while they smoked their Kools. lol Why in the hell was I in such a hurry to grow up?
  13. My mother said I must always be intolerant of ignorance but understanding of illiteracy. That some people, unable to go to school, were more educated and more intelligent than college professors. ~ Maya Angelou

    Chapter 1

This reminds me of my mother after they removed her brain tumor. She’d seemed like she had Alzheimer’s for a while, not being able to remember things. After the surgery, we waited to see if there’s be improvement in her memory and if she’s return to herself. I guess I was hoping for a miracle, but she remained pretty much the same as she had been before the surgery, she just didn’t get much worse. She looked like my mom and she could move around on her own, but she wasn’t herself. That Don is able to speak so coherently means that things are much, much better than with my mother! ;-)
  16. Some men speak in a monotone drone. Devon clearly puts emotion into his voice (women do it, stage actors do it in a more emphatic manner, and some very flamboyant Gay men do in a very exaggerated way). Otherwise Gizmo wouldn’t have been able to read the emotions in his words…
  17. Such a serious young man! ;-)

    Chapter 1

Wow! What a start! I knew it would be great. Yet, your story takes one a way from the first sentence! You lead in the story so easily and deep- amazing.
  19. As you are already aware, Dodger has mentioned that the story will end in a few more chapters…
  20. I don’t think Alex is ever going to admit to anyone that he likes boys! Part of the reason he molested Robbie the way he did was because he can’t even admit it to himself. If he could do that (and quit doing the drugs), he might even become a decent person.
  21. I just tell them their bulges are all in the wrong places… ;-)
  22. I don’t think Daniel was defending Don so much as reassuring Robbie that things had calmed down and that, in Daniel’s opinion, it was safe to return home. But Nicola clearly doesn’t agree since she offered Jimmy’s place as an alternative. If it weren’t for Robbie not knowing Jimmy’s parents, I’d say that might be a good place to go next – unless Robbie decides to check himself into the hospital.

I’ve seen your Comments and posts for a long time. I know we read many of the same stories, but I don’t think I’ve ever read any other stories you’ve written before! A very enjoyable beginning! I look forward to Tony & Jeff’s adventures! ;-) I see several of the usual suspects have already Liked this. ;-)
  24. Well we were right. He went to Alex’s to hide out! Very odd situation though. It seems Jenny is aware of Alex’s bisexuality even if Alex doesn’t admit it. ;-)
