I got an autograph from Brad Rowe when he and much of the cast was at the Frameline Premiere! I didn’t realize at the time that Tina Holmes, who plays the sister, was the same actor who was Maggie in Edge of Seventeen (1998) as well as a different Maggie in a recurring role on Six Feet Under!

I was just thinking. Since this story is set in Kentucky, why are the boys driving a Mustang and Camaro? Shouldn’t someone be driving a Kentucky-built Corvette (Bowling Green) – or even a Kentucky-built Camry (Georgetown)? Where is their state loyalty? ;-) Teslas are everywhere in the Bay Area! ;-)

I’ll have to look into it. There are actually quite a few really good LGBTQ films out of the countries south of Trump’s proposed wall that are worth seeing. You could have a very complete film festival with that as a theme! (Some might be hard to find.) ;-) I’ve seen at least three that I can recall off hand from Cuba, but nothing else from the Caribbean Islands. The question mark is not part of the title of Breakfast With Scot.

Not just because it’s Canadian? ;-) I’ve seen Akron and C.R.A.Z.Y. and enjoyed both. I’ve heard of Between Love and Goodbye and Esteros, but haven’t seen them – mostly because they weren’t shown at Frameline. Can I recommend another Canadian film, Breakfast With Scot? Tom Cavanagh as a very closeted, butch, straight-acting former Toronto Maple Leaf (professional hockey) player and in a long-term relationship with a sports lawyer (Ben Shenkman). Enter Scot (with one ’t’), a flamboyant adolescent, who they are given temporary custody over.

Robbie could exasperate Don’s problems if he called in an anonymous tip to the news media and news cameras started showing up at their door with microphones extended! Of course, Robbie is much too flustered to be that devious. His priority is hiding from Don, not necessarily causing problems – despite what Don thinks!

So Now we get our mystery man/men! An ambush! And a cliffie! ;-)

It’s important for Don’s ‘reputation’ that he search for his nephew. It wouldn’t look good for him to ignore Robbie’s running away from home. No matter what he really wants to do, he is compelled to play the part of the worried parent who wants his child back. ;-)

Maybe there’s a little bit of hope for Ava and Bryan…

I’m wondering what combination of OS and Browser you’re viewing this in. It seems like most of the rest of us aren't having the problem you are. I’m using MacOS 10 with Safari. Firefox, Chrome, Opera, and even iCab all worked just fine for me too. iOS and Safari looked good as well.

I just do not understand the appeal of alcohol. When I was homeless, I met way too many alcoholics who had no idea what they were doing because they were so drunk. Alcohol being the reason they couldn’t work or otherwise function in polite society. I do not see a bright future for these three if that’s how they spend their leisure time. I realize that there are people just like them in real life. Something needs to happen to shock them into sobriety! Maybe the story should continue with Rob finding new friends who aren’t so self-destructive…

I thought I remembered who it was who was beaten! But you confused me (which is very easy to do!) by telling this part of the story out of sequence! Poor Troy! I can think of a few neighborhoods near me where it wouldn’t be too much of a stretch to imagine this sort of thing happening! It’s frightening how some people’s world consists of just a few blocks around where they live. It’s a microcosm of the troubles in places like the Middle East, parts of Eastern Europe, or parts of Africa! I’d love to have a film festival for kids in those neighborhoods with movies like the Oscar & Golden Globe winning No Man’s Land or the Star Trek: Next Generation episode ‘Darmok.’ Movies where enemies are forced to cooperate to survive. Or where cooperation made things better for everyone. ;-)

I know you, Eric, you give us a nice heart-warming chapter (Christmas in July!) and then you’re going to wallop us with something big and scary! Just as we get comfy, you’re going to throw us off balance! We got to catch our breath and relax for a bit… ;-)

And like lyrics to another song, "What ever will be, will be. The future's not ours to see," Sometimes we have to take that emotional ride.
