  1. That one of Lugh's is one of my favorite anthology stories. In fact, it's listed on the October 2010 short story recommendations for Best of Nifty (and the Net) along with several others from GA.

    New Addiction....

<snort> Wait until you get a tray full of tiles that looks like the chorus to Old McDonald Had A Farm. You'll get over your addiction fast enough.
  3. I'm 35 or so miles south of Washington DC. This is my favorite spot in the city, the National Mall with the Smithsonian buildings down both sides. This is my small town in Southern Maryland. That gorgeous Victorian is the Mudd Building, a well-known family name where I live.
  4. This was great!!! I was laughing out loud!! I, also, am technically challenged, so I feel your pain. If it's not called a thingamajig or a doohickie, I'm lost.
  5. I can understand exactly where you're coming from, only my character fatigue has nothing to do with Cody. Parking lot...bus. Simple solution.
  6. My relatives in Georgia don't think I sound southern at all. Signed, sealed, and delivered my support to my reps a few weeks ago.
  7. Happy Birthday!!! Best wishes for a great day.
  8. Jack!! My little frozen cupcake!! Happy Birthday!! And best wishes for a great day.
  9. Having to work with the DC government on a regular basis (permits and inspections) I feel your pain.
  10. I love these polls!
  11. Happy Birthday Tiff!!! Best wishes for a great day.
  12. I like both, but you just can't beat a great short story.
  13. It sounds like hospice care in Mississippi is way different than hospice care in Maryland. When my mother died after battling ovarian cancer, it was hospice that allowed her to die with dignity and without pain. My family and I wouldn't have survived without them. My condolences, James.
  14. The retroactive raise I just got. Actually I liked the idea of reading magazines in color.
  15. Really? You mean...a break? I get a break? But...but...what will I do with all my free time?
  16. I just bought the Nookcolor. It's still charging for the first time and I've already downloaded four books.
  17. So You Want To Be an Author Good for you! But take it from a veteran editor and reader, it takes more than the desire to put pen to paper. Or keys to screen. Trust me…it took me two days to write this article. And it’s not very long. If I could give just one piece of advice to a new author, it would be to brush up on the basic rules of grammar. We’re not talking about anything fancy here, just good old spelling and dialog punctuation. If these are not your strong suit, find a good book or
  18. It's not sauce, it's gravy.
  19. Congratulations!!!! They're little...they don't need a lot of furniture just yet. You can have a clean house or happy children. I went with the happy children. Mine love me. Sleep when the baby(ies) sleep. Crying won't kill them. They all have one fussy spot every day. They'll get over it eventually. Do not, I repeat, do not intentionally keep the house quiet while they nap/sleep. Normal noise is okay.
  20. Protecting David Here you go.
  21. Personally, I don't care which character Aaron Eckhart portrays as long as I get to look at him.
  22. As I understand things with the new system, the author should (or will) be able to customize their stories. I think once our intrepid leader figures out how to format his chapters when he posts them they will look better. And Canuk - Click on the GA Stories link at the top of the page. On the left side in 'Browse' click on 'Authors'. Then you can sort on just Hosted authors (Groups) and then scroll down to Mark's name. Click on his name and all his stories are listed.
