Have you ever had one of those days? You know, when you are trying to get out of the house and you are running down a mental checklist to make sure you've got everything? I was doing that this morning.
Coffee pot off?
Check.
Computer off?
Check.
Ridiculously large tote bag in hand?
Check.
Wallet in ridiculously large tote bag?
Check.
Cell phone in ridiculously large tote bag?
Check.
Books that need to go back to the high school's library because your kid forgot to turn them in before the last day of class?
Check.
Coffee in hand and front door locked?
Check and check.
I get about a half mile from home, still feeling like there is something I'm missing. And then, light bulb moment!!
I don't have on any shoes.
I freely admit I don't get poetry. I think my mind works too logically and all that imagery woohoo you're supposed to get from a poem just zips right over my head. That being said, I get your stuff. I'm not sure what that says about the two of us, but it will be a shame if your woohoo stops.
Long separated by cruel fate, the star-crossed lovers raced across the grassy field toward each other like two freight trains, one having left Cleveland at 6:36 p.m. traveling at 55 mph, the other from Topeka at 4:19 p.m. at a speed of 35 mph.
And there is a specific place where that feedback is welcome. We, those of us lucky enough to have a working relationship with an author, walk a fine line. It behooves us, when we are posting in these forums, to remember that just a little bit.
Wow - I'm just stumped by the idea that someone finds Stefan kind of...flat. I find him deeply complex, enchanting, and the glue, even more so than JP sometimes, that holds the whole series together. He's the male version of Tonto who, in my opinion, is perfect.
But, then again, that's the beauty of fiction. Everyone reads differently.
Currently I have 80 bookmarks...and I deleted at least a dozen just a few days ago.
I've also got the Texts From Last Night. My all-time favorite:
(508):
awoke with 47 plastic lawn flamingos in my bed and on surrounding floor. explanation?
(1-508):
you said they were your minions of evil that protected you from ferrets.
I've also got Glossary of Nautical Terms and Web Sudoku.
