It seems real because the terminology is real. I don't even want to think about the research Mark puts into these stories, I just know that I have several sites bookmarked to double-check nautical terms. Although I'll admit to not remembering which mast is which without checking a diagram.

So I just got back from one of my semi-annual long weekends at the beach (which is why those of you who sent chapters for me to edit won't get them back until some time tomorrow). As usual my dad insisted on giving my sister and me a little extra cash even though we don't need it. But, you know, it makes him happy. When I picked my sister up Friday morning for the trip, she handed me the envelope from Dad. On the front he'd written: Jeanette's mad money, Sharon's bail money. Needless to say, I did not get arrested the entire weekend. I did get fairly drunk Friday night, but that was the point of all the Cosmos. I also spent way too much money shopping on Saturday, but I had extra since I knew I wasn't going to get arrested. And, my girls were the first kids to call their mother this morning to say happy mother's day. Overall, my weekend rocked.

Being of an age, I understand. We're supposed to have things set by now so we can provide words of wisdom and sage advice. Funny how it doesn't really work that way, you know? We just...do the best we can, hope that 'blue mood' moves along, sooner rather than later. A good cry in the shower and a large glass of wine usually helps. I wish you peace, Nephy.

Good Lord!! I got tired just reading that list! My day already starts at about 4AM and, after a very action packed day of kids, husband, house, and job, I just manage to drag my fatigued self to bed about 11PM. I keep trying to figure out where I'd fit all that in. You just amaze me...

For anyone receiving nasty-o-grams just because they've got a differing opinion, might I suggest you just forward them on to me. I'll be perfectly happy to...'ah'...explain a few things to them. :2hands: One of the beauties of fiction, is its ability to evoke such differing emotions. I think any author that can bring about such differences in opinion from the same story must be doing something right. I, for one, love to read all the different views here in Mark's forum (except for Jeremy's - they usually just piss me off). Everyone please keep up the good work!
