  1. Happy Birthday, Cia!! Best wishes for a great day.
  2. So a few years ago, an old e-buddy pops up in my inbox after not hearing anything from him for over a year. Says he's written a story, remembers I edit, wants to know if I'll read his stuff and give him my opinion. I, of course, immediately email Vic and say 'Guess who popped up in my email. Arbour. Could have knocked me over with a feather'. Needless to say, I agreed to read his stuff. Over three million words later and I still haven't decided if answering that email was a good thing.
  3. Unsolicited advice: Use the crib sheets for the cradle pad. Just wrap the pad like a present and hold the sheet in place with pins. You're going to be changing it often and the baby won't care. Really...she won't. Make a point to let the moms know that, while you appreciate their help, you and Mike need to bond with the baby, so maybe they could help with keeping up the household stuff not baby stuff. For the first week or so, sleep when the baby sleeps. Trust me on this one. Sleep deprivation is not pretty. Make normal household noise when the baby is sleeping. That's how they learn to sleep through anything. Seriously, when my two were babies, I could vacuum under the crib and they wouldn't wake up. It is perfectly normal to sit up all night watching her breathe.
  4. The Shining with Jack Nicholson. In the middle of the night, my husband would start with that 'Redrum, redrum' in this really creepy voice just to freak me out. Worked every time.
  5. I know! I know! *waves hand in the air* Pick me! Pick me! Maybe because JP lives in Palo Alto?
  6. We'll be here, Carl. You always know how to find us.
  7. Good Lord! That made me spew my coffee. The 'impeccable taste in handbags' was the kicker. *edited because, you know, I can't spell
  8. Or he can just get run over by that bus.
  9. I love these polls!
  10. I de-neged you, Matthew. I really do not understand the need for some people to neg rep someone's post in a story thread. Hello?? It's a story thread, for a fictional story. Everyone is welcome to post their opinion/outlook/assessment/dinner recipe, just as long as its not accompanied by a nude picture. Get over yourself.
  11. Oh I think Will's parents instilled a sense of right and wrong. It's just their version is somewhat amplified from Joe Schmoe's version. Most of you are overlooking the fact that Will has been raised in a very gay, very out, very rich family. He's on vacation in Rome, hits up a club, and gets lost in the heat of the moment. It's not like he plans on go-go dancing at Babylon on a regular basis.
  12. Okay - that made me laugh. Personally, I'm finding this discussion extremely entertaining. And it is just fiction.
  13. Well said.
  14. Ieshwar's Little Raindrop. It's a beautifully written story that showcased the anthology's theme. Every time I read it, I imagine these wonderfully done watercolor illustrations.
  15. Happy Birthday Viv!!! Best wishes for a great day.
  16. Sunshine, lollipops and rainbows everything that's wonderful is what I feel when we're together. Brighter than a lucky penny. When you're here the raindrops disappears dear and I feel so fine. Just to know that you are mine.* Best wishes for a great day Vic! And...cheesecake. * Sunshine, Lollipops, & Rainbows - Leslie Gore
  17. Happy Birthday Bob!!!! Best wishes for a great day.
  18. Belated birthday wishes, Libby! Hope you had a great day.
  19. Ah the good old days, when you could sit in a bar and smoke. <sigh> I don't do that anymore. Smoke, that is... Jack, your hometown is lovely.

    Exercise Insanity

I made five trips up and down the stairs yesterday with a full basket of laundry each time. That's about all the pace I intend to maintain. After a month like that, you deserve cake! Chocolate...big piece...extra frosting.
  21. Happy Birthday Eric!!! Best wishes for a great day.
  22. Hello?? Haven't you read these stories? This is by far the most oblivious scenario you've come up with to date, Jeremy. Both Bill and Marie were well into their 20s or maybe even early 30s when JP was conceived. Marie already had Jim and Bill would have already fathered Donna. Sometimes you really need to rein in your imagination. With gerbils.
