Scott is taking a chance; this could all easily blow up in his face. I don't see it happening, but it could. I am not sure that Scott isn't Justin's last chance, I am afraid if he isn't able to get himself on track, it may never happen or happen too late to matter. Peter just doesn't seem to get Justin or even himself to some extent. I really do feel that Jenny is almost a cipher, does she ever stand up to Peter, or let him run all over her and Justin both. Can't decide about Sally yet, she sort of annoys me and sort of endears herself to me, so can't really get a feeling yet. Excellent chapter, can't wait to see what happens next.

Jem and Nico are learning from two people with a great deal of experience. They are getting a great education because of that experience. Making this choice will not be easy, but will the choice even matter? It is obvious that the fact that no orx has been spotted where you would expect them and the issues that have been raised before that something is going on; will the choice be made before they are ready or be made at all? Really like that Til is willing to listen to Jem, fairly obvious that he doesn't agree with everything that he says but promising that he listens to him and doesn't just write off what he says. The tension is building, I don't know why the lack of sighting of the orx is bothering me so much, but it is, I sense something disturbing is about to occur.

What a joyous delight this has been the perfect antidote for this week. Granger handled all of this so skillfully and yet, seemed so at ease through it all. I would think that no matter the situation, hosting a single member of the Royal family would be daunting, but to host the King and Queen along with so many of the Royal Princess would have been exceptionally tricky. And the fact that you are going to have one member of the Royal family stay behind and be recuperating at your place of residence would have been ever so worrisome; what if something happened and she worsened while there, explain to the King that she passed while under your care? Now that the trip to Cowes was so easily done; the Queen has decided to have Granger transport them to London. And just what in the holy hell do you do even you come into a squall; or God forbid, a foreign ship of war? This could go wrong in so many ways; but I have faith that Granger will get them through. Carmella's performance delighted the Royals, and perhaps more importantly the fleet and the men. While this will help her; it also helps Granger in so many ways. The thought and planning that went into something like this was extraordinary; and the fact that she did this in such short notice says a lot about her. So impressed with Kingsdale, to think where he was just a few short years ago when he first encountered Granger; and now the King knows him well enough to call out his name in make a joke with him. Can you believe how lucky that meeting was and what changes have been made in his life since encountering Granger and his family? Talk about a lucky break. Hmmm, William does not seem to be impressed with Carmella? I wonder how much of a problem that will turn out to be? This is his first exposure to her, could he have heard something; or seen something that makes him question her motives? This will have to be dealt with quickly, Granger will never stay with anyone that his children would not be happy with. Granger's children would be a little too young to ever be really introduced to the Royals in this manner; how lucky for them that their father is whom he is. Let's hope they are up to the task; and I bet they are...

From Groupie To Roadie/Lover?
centexhairysub commented on Lee Wilson's story chapter in From Groupie To Roadie/Lover?
Well, this group environment seems worse than high school drams club. Petty jealousies and backstabbing galore, plus a lot of questions about trying to spill the tea. Interesting how the chapter ended, can't wait to see which way this goes next.- 30 comments

What a lovely chapter, Jaycen and Troy simply belong together, there are those couples that you just can't imagine one without the other. They do have so much love to give, I am sure another kid or two would benefit from that love. Love how delighted they were with nature's bounty and how it made them feel right at home within it.

An evening party: Dan’s tale
centexhairysub commented on Robert Hugill's story chapter in An evening party: Dan’s tale
Well, Dante handled all of that with quite a bit of aplomb. I admire someone, anyone really that can just in at the last moment and deal with a crisis and keep everything functioning just the way it needed to. Of course, you have to be discreet but firm when you have to with some of the guest; but in the politest way possible. Love how Heyward just slid in the part about his distillery. As if everyone just happens to have one laying around somewhere waiting to be brought back to life. LOL Can't wait to see how Vaughn reacts to this one. -
OMG, I am so in love with how this story is progressing. The writing is so visual and yes, even aromatic. I am so glad that Adam decided to write Kai that first letter. I do like how Kai seems to still feel some ownership and pride in his old house, I know it has probably been many years since he actually lived in it, but are we not all a little tied to our childhood dwellings in some way? Adam and Arya seem to be such a great fit. I am more of a cat person but do appreciate the dynamic between a great dog and a person. Can't wait to see what happens next.

So, it is not just the Orx but the some of the land creatures that have begun to behave unusually? That sounds like something more than a coincidence to me, but we will see. Jem has been trained in hunting by his father and the life that he has led; but how much of that will translate to the sea will still have to be seen. Hunting can be very different depending on the environment that it is done. I am glad both Jem and Nico seem to be willing to work either position, I know they both want what they view as the more exciting one, but either sounds like a good job to have, and the engineering one would translate to other positions more readily. Equally impressed with the captain and the chief engineer taking Jem's suggestion so seriously. Being prepared can never be a bad thing.

The Mantis Synchronicity - Book Five
centexhairysub reviewed Adam Andrews Johnson's story in Fiction
Another crazy ride in the Mantis series, the characters are what consistently keep pulling you into this series, they are so unique and well developed that even the ones that end up being evil, you are invested in finding out what happens to them. Well written and the chapters in general flow well, I do wish they were longer, but this seems to be the style the author has adapted for this series and in general it works really well. My issue with this particular book is that even some of the ones that we think are the good guys, turn out to have their own hidden agendas and you discover, none of the groups involved are easy to fully support. If you like strange, weird, or just out of the ordinary, pull up a seat and start this one from the first book.-

I just love Caroline. I like Nate, but Caroline is just brilliant. I am glad they had a chance to talk about the leaflets that Thomas found; and that Nate was able to at least acknowledge that he was aware of it but thought their father had dropped the idea. Glad the couples are getting along so well, and glad that Thomas has someone he can really talk to about this past if and when he needs to do so. Keith also really seems to enjoy the time they spend with Nate and Caroline. And that can only bode well for all their futures. You need to accept the past as the past; realize what it is and how it can affect you but leave it there. Don't let it disrupt the present. Of course, easier said than done.

Chapter 37 - Epilogue - New Rulers of Duguza
centexhairysub commented on Adam Andrews Johnson's story chapter in Chapter 37 - Epilogue - New Rulers of Duguza
So disappointed in the actions of many in this book. Proves that each group has idiots that make it hard to fully support any group. -
As always, thanks for the update.

Truly worth a read, I personally did not find it depressing; accurate perhaps and blunt, but gives the reader plenty to think about.

I did not find this depressing. Accurate and perhaps a little harsh, but not depressing. Well written and thought out, thanks for your contribution to my day being interesting.

Oh wow, I did something similar to this one summer many years ago, I won't mention the artist as it would date me far worse than anything else. What are the odds truly? Not crazy about how he left things with the landlord; but I guess his age and recent history does explain most of that. Can't wait to see where this leads; the road less traveled or the one that is busy as a freeway. LOL

Sometimes life just doesn't make sense; but then is it actually supposed to? Let's hope that whatever change or decision he makes will be the best one for him. An impulsive action can be good or bad, we often don't know which until a great deal of time has passed.

What a truly delicious chapter. I love the idea of getting to know someone from their words and thoughts rather than just forming your feelings based on a face-to-face meeting. Writing what you thought, but taking time to decide how you truly feel and letting the thoughts and words percolate within before putting them down to paper. The reading what the other wrote, and allowing their words to marinate within you while you thought about the ideas behind their words and what they were really getting at, what a wonderful concept, one that used to common, but so rare as to seem strange in todays world. The writing in this chapter was so descriptive and flowed just beautifully. I can't wait for their first actual meeting, it may still be a way off, but really feel they will actually know each other when it occurs. Bravo, truly masterful.

Chapter 36 - The Spell
centexhairysub commented on Adam Andrews Johnson's story chapter in Chapter 36 - The Spell
The Witch indicated that a lot of the Demifae that were casting the spell had died or were going to die; I wonder how that impacted what they were trying to do in the aftermath. I am glad that at least three of our group was unharmed, but how long will this last? And what happens if the Demifae start to try and kill the others? -
I do wonder with the number of suicides among gay youth how often something like this occurs. A family member saying so many negative things and yet they don't even know that the person they are speaking to or in front of is gay. How many suffer in silence and let it build up until it is just so much more than they can handle. Sally may be a pain, but she was right in this. I wonder if Peter truly has no idea? What about his mother?

An evening party: preparations
centexhairysub commented on Robert Hugill's story chapter in An evening party: preparations
Well, seems Heyward has a streak of kitsch wider than we realized. Have to wonder what the party planner was thinking, or was he taking orders from someone else? Vaughn and Dante just seem to be getting closer each chapter; and their interactions are just so real. This is how to build a relationship that will last. -
Writing letters, truly writing them, is a lost art. The good paper and ink and taking the time to think about you are going to put down before it just spills out of you. My handwriting was always so bad that I hated to write often; as it takes me a really long time to do it properly, at least it does if I want someone to actually be able to read what I have written. LOL. These men are both men that know who they are and how they present to the world. I can't wait to see Kai's reaction to what Adam sends back. This story is just drawing me in so deeply and quickly, can't wait to see where you take it. Bravo...

Chapter 35 - The Demifae
centexhairysub commented on Adam Andrews Johnson's story chapter in Chapter 35 - The Demifae
These creatures are truly evil. I have to wonder how many innocents will be killed by the time this is over. -
