Thoroughly enjoyable story about what it means to be family. In some ways, the families you care about the most are the ones that you choose to make. Really interesting and enjoyable characters that draw you in. Well written and pacing was first rate; I did find the ending a little abrupt, but part of that is me, I never want the stories to end. They need to continue forever. LOL There are some rough areas, but the author does a really good job handling them and warning that they are coming so not to trigger anyone that would have an issue with them.

Everything Comes Together
centexhairysub commented on Lee Wilson's story chapter in Everything Comes Together
Really love how this was all finished up. Rocky got what he wanted and more importantly needed. Manny and Bass found what they needed in each other. I could have of course used a few more chapters; but then I never want the stories to really end but go on forever. Can't wait for your next one, enjoy your time away.- 58 comments

Chapter 21 - Abernathy's Apothecary
centexhairysub commented on Adam Andrews Johnson's story chapter in Chapter 21 - Abernathy's Apothecary
I have a feeling that Abernathy's so-called friends made a visit, and too bad he was not there, might have gotten a bunch of them killed. Strange, I do think that Abernathy really does care about Croosen, would not have thought he had it in him to care that much about anyone but himself. -

Party time at the Villa Torronia
centexhairysub commented on Robert Hugill's story chapter in Party time at the Villa Torronia
Loved everything about this chapter; it was just well, brilliant. The writing was so descriptive, and you could just feel and smell the atmosphere of the house and gardens. And Vaughn even when caught up in conversations that he found interesting did notice that something seemed off; but I do think Dante is right, it was almost like two separate gatherings happening at the same time. Ercole seems really interesting, and more than a little interested. And if you don't think there is money under the counter so to speak in anything construction wise like roads, you are foolish beyond measure. This was just a true delight on this Monday morning... -
Chapter 20 - Home
centexhairysub commented on Adam Andrews Johnson's story chapter in Chapter 20 - Home
These three could truly change everything. I do hope they continue on to Teshon City, but this would be a nice place to take a break and figure a few things out. -
Chapter Twenty-Four: Void
centexhairysub commented on drown's story chapter in Chapter Twenty-Four: Void
Well personally, I think that Grey, Dave, and Mark are acting like toddlers and need a time out. Chronos while he has been obtuse, has been more helpful than anything else sense they meet up. I think turning him away was truly a mistake. Glad that Mark is back and he and Sebastian seem to be forming a tight bond; but at the end, is it one or the other or the fact they are both together? Nice update. -

California, Here We Come.
centexhairysub commented on Mark Arbour's story chapter in California, Here We Come.
I am torn, I could actually see Claire and Luke being really good together; but at the same time, the thought of Claire with anyone other than Jack just seems a little off-putting to me. I know, it is probably just me, but the idea that one person from this family could stay with the same person and be truly happy was so delightful, but people change and the fact they have been together since they were in their middle teens might work against them. They really never got a chance to see how they worked with anyone else seriously. Luke has always been an interesting secondary character; and the fact that he is about a decade or so older doesn't really bother me. However, if they got together and then broke up, talk about drama. Luke was actually really good with the kids, but of course, he has been on the periphery of the family for such a long time, he would know everyone and how to relate to them all. JJ needs to figure out that his family is not the enemy. Yes, they have caused him issues over the years, but never truly on purpose. And honestly, I think that while JJ likes to be separated from them by a continent, he would never get over it, if they truly separated from each other. I think that Kris is good for JJ; but I hope that when Sunday gets here, that JJ proves just as good for Kris.- 31 comments

Family, nothing beats it but a 2 x 4. LOL. The love and support that this group has and gives is outstanding. They are there for each other and all those that they care about; and even those that each other care about. Love to see how those that care can pull together in a moment of crisis. For so many in small towns and the country that find family, food, faith, and love can damn near fix anything.

One Parent Full of Shit, and a Foster Parent Waits
centexhairysub commented on Lee Wilson's story chapter in One Parent Full of Shit, and a Foster Parent Waits
I hope that his father will carry through on what he said, and Bruce gets some counseling as well. Generally, and this is a generalization because it doesn't apply every time, but most people that do what Bruce has done don't stop voluntarily. That said, it does happen. I doubt that Rocky will ever fully get over what Bruce did, but he need counseling to learn how to deal with his feelings about it. Manny is moving forward, and I am glad. He seems to be adjusting to his situation and working to find a way forward for himself and those in his life. I am glad that he realizes how he feels about Rocky. Rocky enjoys himself in the kitchen, well great, you can express yourself a lot through food, and sounds like this might be something he always will enjoy. Excellent chapter, can't wait for the next update.- 34 comments

Chapter 19 - The Witch
centexhairysub commented on Adam Andrews Johnson's story chapter in Chapter 19 - The Witch
Oh Lord, wannabe Gods never end well for them or anyone around them. -

A great place to end this one and get ready for the next. So happy that Jake got his eyesight back, I was starting to really worry about that. Sounds like the old Baron did not really take care of everyone and everything like I would have expected someone in his position to do so; but I think Greg will fix that, with some help from Scott and Billy. Really Anderw needs to definitely watch Downton Abbey, and maybe Upstairs/Downstairs. The reminds me, if Maggie Smith isn't a vampire, we need to make sure to turn her before it is too late. She needs to live forever.

Return to School, and a Confrontation or Two
centexhairysub commented on Lee Wilson's story chapter in Return to School, and a Confrontation or Two
Manny and Bass both made a major mistake, Rocky should never have been put in a position to deal with Bruce without a lot more counseling. They should have immediately gone to the police; Rocky is a child, a precocious one at that, but still a child. They need to take more responsibility for their actions as they directly lead to this latest incident. I doubt that Rocky was the only one to ever be molested by Bruce, and I will bet as he is now in the hospital and not able to scare anyone, some of the others might come forward, we will see. Not sure how this will play out, but Rocky needs more therapy and counseling to learn to deal with his issues before going back to school. -
Chapter 18 - Olona
centexhairysub commented on Adam Andrews Johnson's story chapter in Chapter 18 - Olona
Well, I am glad that Olona realizes what a mistake it was; she needs to be more careful who she sells what to and why. I do think this group would be strong going against anyone; but they need to find out more about what he is up to; perhaps his other Demifae will get into a fight with him before then and weaken them all. And that ghoulish assistant needs to get it as well. -
Just love how this is progressing; and the comment about restoring the other works by Atkinson made it sound like that could be something of a challenge that might be worthwhile. I just love the interplay between the characters; and even the secondary ones and ones we meet only briefly seem to add so much to the story. Isobel seems interesting, and I know we will get to meet here at least one more time, but she seems to me to be someone to keep around. Love how these two find these small moments, like dealing with traffic and unexpected delays to learn more about each other, just a real delight.

Chapter 17 - Gilnik
centexhairysub commented on Adam Andrews Johnson's story chapter in Chapter 17 - Gilnik
Well, let's hope the Demifae got to war with each other and kill each other off, what most of them deserve. I wonder how this group will react to what Abernathy has done to himself; don't think they will like it one bit. -
Chapter 16 - Hazel Cove
centexhairysub commented on Adam Andrews Johnson's story chapter in Chapter 16 - Hazel Cove
This may not be where they end up; but what a delight to find Hazel Cove after their recent travels. -
Hope this is simply the start to a great year...

Chapter 15 - Murder
centexhairysub commented on Adam Andrews Johnson's story chapter in Chapter 15 - Murder
I hope when this all comes out; that Olona is forced to rethink her approach to how she does her business. This chapter made me so mad. These two are why perhaps all the Demifae need to be pushed out as well. -
Glad that Rocky is seeing a therapist, even if it was brought on by him remembering another traumatic event in his short life. I hope that therapy might be able to help hi deal with a few other issues as well, and this does explain his initial feelings about the gay kids in school. I really think the police should be informed immediately, doing so could help keep another kid from being subjected to what Bruce did to Rocky. Sexual assault or abuse is rarely about sex, but about power. Bruce likes being a bully for the same reason, power and the fear he generates in others. That said, would not be surprised at all if he had been subject to some type of abuse as well. Chapter made me sad, but glad that Rocky is getting some help. Think that Manny and Bass are right, Rocky is dealing with a lot, let him bring up his real mother, if and when he is comfortable doing so.

A very enjoyable chapter, the guest house and the grounds seem to be a delight. The interior didn't seem to be quite to Vaughn's taste but the paintings really struck a chord with him. I think i would agree with Dante, never really understood gardens without some flowers and pops of color; and the smell of the flowers just add so much. Well, they seem to be getting closer, and the mention of marriage seem to be getting prevalent. But I think slow and steady wins this race; they still need to get to really know each other.

Chapter 14 - Mushrooms

Once again, Dozi was lucky she had Tchama with her. Men can be disgusting; but through in some alcohol and watch out. I too miss Ilya.
