Chapter 6 Like a Thrown Lariat Over Horns
centexhairysub commented on Headstall's story chapter in Chapter 6 Like a Thrown Lariat Over Horns
Albert Cooley must be in love; that is the only explanation for how generous he is being to August, that or the fact that he wants to make sure that others know he gave his son a headstart with money and things. August is reading his escape. Rob is learning that life going forward may not be what he is hoping for; how old is Virginia? Young enough to have another son or two? Roland Crawley appears to be everything that Albert is not. Fletcher is ready to move now, let's hope their plans go off without a hitch; at least to the point of getting gone and getting to the new homestead. Can't wait to see what happens next... How far is Bearpaw from this new homestead? LOL- 44 comments

Germany – Mad Ludwig’s little place
centexhairysub commented on Robert Hugill's story chapter in Germany – Mad Ludwig’s little place
Lovely chapter, so glad that Alex and Neil got to spend some time just themselves. Rupert took them to the castle but thankfully went on a different tour. But glad that he was so hospitable. And knew a different lake to take a walk on and a nice place to have a bite and a pint. Neil is coming into his own more and more; and like @Summerabbacat Neil's sense of humor is growing on me and proving to be more robust than would have thought at the start. Neil needs to move forward at this pace, but nice that Alex is so patient and unconcerned. I can see Charlie having his gap year all sorted out soon, whether he wants it or not. LOL -
July's CSR: Look Back at 2025's Secret Author!
centexhairysub commented on Cia's blog entry in Gay Authors News
I can't wait, even though I am truly horrible at guessing; even the authors that I read all the time seem to surprise me. -
Lovely chapter, Levi is saying goodbye to his old life and looking forward to what is coming. Is he ready for what is coming, perhaps, but he still has some grieving to do and some growing to go through. Matt and his parents have done everything they can to make Levi is comfortable with the changes as they could possible do so; Luke as well, but now comes the hard part, the final move. He will be back for visits with the grandparents, but for the most part, his life as he has known it up until this point, is in the rear-view mirror. Let's hope the house sells quickly and for enough to help with his future life at some point. Can't wait for the next installment in this trilogy.

Weekly Wrap Up (Jun. 28 - Jul. 4)
centexhairysub commented on wildone's blog entry in Gay Authors News
Rather depressed about the situation in America this year, so really skipped all the celebrations for a quiet dinner with good friends. Hot and humid here in Central Texas, how can we have this much humidity and be in such a drought? While country is not one of my favorite genres, I can name at least a hundred great songs... Anything by Patsy Cline, Dolly Parton, Tammy Wynette, Lorreta Lynn, Reba McEntire, Emmylou Harris, Anne Murray, Wanda Jackson, Linda Martell, Sara and "Mother" Maybell Carter, June Carter Cash, Rosanna Cash, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Kitty Wells, Brenda Lee, Crystal Gayle, Lucinda Williams, Dottie West, Allison Krauss, Linda Ronstadt, Lee Ann Womack, The Chicks, Trisha Yearwood, Connie Smith, Bobbie Gentry; then throw in Johnny Cash, George Jones, Conway Twitty, Willie Nelson, Garth Brooks, well dammit, I may like country more than I thought. LOL -
Oh Lord, I thought my laptop was going to melt with all the unexplored heat coming from this chapter... Austin wants Xavier, and Xavier is starting to crave Austin. The explosion when this actually happens is going to be with one hell of a bang...

That last exchange witnessed by Granger worries me a little. However, everything else about this chapter was Granger doing what he does best, taking care of a ship and it's crew. I do wonder what will happen on Granger's little trip, will he take down another city state, or rescue a foreign potentate. Always a joy to get a look at what is going on with our very favorite British aristocrat, honestly makes one a little nostalgic for what might have been if some actions and decisions had been different so many years ago...

German trip – concert
centexhairysub commented on Robert Hugill's story chapter in German trip – concert
OMG, did anyone actually like Disco Duck? I love disco and truly believe it should be celebrated for the joy, love, and hope; along with a good beat, that it brought into the world. I do like Wagner, but if I honestly had to pick one or the other to listen to for five hours, it would be Disco... -

We can truthfully hope Neil gets to this point. HIs talent should not be hidden or dismissed but encouraged and celebrated. -
Loved this, Travis and Will had a great time with Austin; but much like Travis, I see this blowing up, and at least one and maybe two of them will be truly hurt. Marie is the best thing that could happen to Travis and Will right now, she takes so much of the pressure off.

Lovely chapter, but I do worry that they are both moving too fast; Johnny to get past Bruce, and Sam because the feelings for Johnny have always been there. Bruce made his choice way too easy; he could not have been as committed to the relationship as Johnny was, or it would have been harder for him to do what he did and how he did it. Of course, we don't see his side; maybe he is heartbroken but something about the job was worth the heartache.

Love that Neil was able to show up and has enjoyed his experience. And love their choices for some exploration. Always thought Ludwig was offed, and never thought he was truly mad... So excited that we have at least that much left. Seems like the show was well received, so glad. Neil ended up fitting in better than I think he thought he would, so happy about that. -

Both would be five hours of sublime enjoyment... -
Loved this so much. I am glad that Remy decided to help with the project, can't wait to see how it is handled. And I am glad that Remy was honest with Mistress Ellen. But most of all I am glad of that last scene with Remy and Marc.

Sometimes the sweetest thing you can do for someone is the simplest. Terry cooks for everyone and everyone getting together to cook him a meal means more than you can imagine. Taggert continues to open up to Ash little by little. I am glad that James let Ash know something about the history. Only 200,000 acres, why in Texas that barely qualifies as a spread...

Levi is learning that he still has a lot to learn, and that is a good thing. Anyone that says they have all the answers is either arrogant beyond reality or a first class fool. Levi is coming to realize that although Matt doesn't have all the answers, he doesn't try and force his beliefs on Levi or force him to change his beliefs. Matt an only continue to be there for Levi, he has to continue to let Levi move at his own pace and just make sure he knows that he will be there for him when he needs him.

"No Time But Eternity" (Part 2)
centexhairysub commented on CasualWanderer82's story chapter in "No Time But Eternity" (Part 2)
"And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love." 1st Corinthians 13:13 Perhaps no true thing has ever been written in the history of the world. And as I finished the story, this was all I could think of. -
As cliched as it is; often when one door closes another will open wide. Johnny just has to be ready for the next open door. Johnny truly gave all for this film; he forced himself to face every truth, to look in the mirror and be honest about what was looking back. Violet knows honesty and talent, and she has seen both in Johnny, she will bring them back together. Perhaps he will become her muse, while rare, often a director and actor find such perfection with each other that they can and will recreate it over and over again. Really disappointed in Bruce, but at least he waited until Johnny finished the film to walk away. If Bruce always knew he would choose work over Johnny, why did he let them get some deep into each other. Selfish.

Some truly outstanding stories, this is a genre that many people try to write in, but only a few truly excel at.

Have to wonder when and how it will happen. Will Austin be in Xavier and cause him to lose control, or will something happen and Austin has to be bitten to save him? So many possibilities, and any of them can happen in an instant. I wonder how long it will take Austin to power up so to speak after the change. You know that Calder won't give him any time, if he is aware of it. Would Evelyn simply retire, or what?

Chapter 5 A Day of All Days
centexhairysub commented on Headstall's story chapter in Chapter 5 A Day of All Days
August and Fletcher have declared; but August is smart enough to know that he will have to find a winding way around his father. Rob saw something, but not sure what or how much; he tried to turn the Cooley patriarch against August again, but with a wife coming; he may have bigger fish to fry sooner rather than later. August spun a tale fast as he could, did his father fully believe him, no, I doubt it, but that is just that Albert Cooley believes no one but himself. We found out why the Cooley/Crawley feud started. Can't wait to see what happens next. -
German trip – arriving
centexhairysub commented on Robert Hugill's story chapter in German trip – arriving
We all have to come into our own at our own pace. Neil is lucky that he was able to be there during the rehearsal and see how this was all taking shape. Can't wait for the opening and to see how it is received. And being on hand and being able to give a talk would be something I would think would benefit all. Amazing how small the world can be sometimes and how it can overlap in surprising ways. We will just have to wait and see what is going on with Alex, could be Charlie, his mother, a combination of both, or nothing at all. Love that Lila is there, in a different venue, but nearby to help give Neil a pat on the back and a everything will be okay. Friday needs to get here quickly. LOL -
Each day, each new encounter with friends of Matt and Luke will give Levi a better picture of who they are and how he can possibly merge his life with theirs. Even with some of the signs of affection, that have concerned him, each introduction will give him a new insight or a new realization of what his life will be like with them in it. Will they all go smoothly, no, but good or bad they will give him a better picture of the reality of moving to Thompsonville with his father. Levi's dream may help him, his mother brought Matt back into their lives while she was still alive, even if just barely; so that Levi could see that she trusted Matt to guide Levi into his future. I think Levi will come to realize that regardless of the fact that she kept Matt away from Levi so long, in the end, she reached out to reconnect them before her passing. Regardless of past words or actions, she trusted her son to his father. Levi needs to find his footing, he seems to have lived a rather sheltered life in some aspects and needs to find a way to mesh his old life and old expectations with the reality of what he now faces.
