Casey and his ilk are often taken by surprise when anyone stands up to them. Matt said what needed to be said, and they took it seriously. I am glad that Levi has Father Costas, his quiet words have an effect on him and get him thinking. I was never much for roughing it, but there are benefits, you do find time to just contemplate life and find a moment to be one with the universe. Quite a group going camping, can't wait to see what all happens there.

Chapter 14 The Eyes Have It
centexhairysub commented on Headstall's story chapter in Chapter 14 The Eyes Have It
Well, first and foremost, I certainly hope you get to feeling better. A summer cold is nothing to sneeze at, if this is the issue. But regardless, feel better soon. Much like several other posters, I do believe Harriet and Dorothea are more than just friends. Harriet truly loves her grandchildren. And her joy in seeing August was real and genuine. And I have no doubt that will soon translate to her feeling for Fletcher and their other friends. Also, as others have suggested, I am sure that Barnswallow is much more than meets the eye. I suspect it is larger and may well still be a functioning concern, but we will see. I truly am starting to worry about Willy James; Runyon will never forgive himself if something has happened to him. Wonderful chapter as always, can't wait to see what comes next.- 57 comments

Interesting information about this world. Does anyone know why the Great Mother went to sleep, or did it just happen slowly, and no one noticed until it was too late?

Weekly Wrap Up (Aug. 23 - Aug. 29)
centexhairysub commented on wildone's blog entry in Gay Authors News
Missing my heart, the last ten years or so in the US has taken that from me as it has turned to stone. But no body parts, even still have my tonsils. LOL. I grew up in the country, and knew several people that were missing something, farm accidents are real and use to be worse back in the day. I guess because I was around people when I was young that had lost something either from accidents or the Vietnam war, I never thought it was strange or sad, just a fact of life. Most could do damn near anything else that others could, they just went about their life and did what they could. As always, thanks for the look back at this past week. I so did enjoy the secret author contest, even if I did not get even one guess right. Can't wait for the next analogy. -
Austin is awake, and coming into his power. Transitioning to his wolf, at least the first time, will probably require a full moon, after that, who knows. Austin wants and needs Xavier. If Xavier was in mortal danger, would that force Austin into an early transition? So many new facets to Austin's life and his relationship with Xavier now. Can't wait to see where this goes.

Well, they made good time to Virginia. Seems like because of the looks that not much doubt that Kurtis and the Major are father and son, of course, a blood test will confirm. The fact that he takes such good care of his people says a lot about the Major. Cynthia is a good egg, wish we could have seen her in action again. Can't wait to see what happens next.

Rodeo is dangerous. Even something like poles or barrel racing; if you are dealing with an animal that large, accidents can happen and there is nothing you can do to prevent them. Just when everything seemed to be going so well, Meg was sure to win. With these kinds of injuries, she will be out indefinitely. Neither surgery will be easy, and the recovery will be slow and painful. That said, Meg does have plenty of family and friends to stand by her and help her with this. Troy and Miles are doing well, but this will give them something to worry about...

Julian and Sam opened up and were honest with each other. Each told the other their past, and what has shaped them into whom they are at this moment in time. They have both dealt with fathers that loved themselves and their idea of what the lives of their children should be more than the children themselves. Sam has lived more, and learned to hide himself more; but that has allowed him to realize what is real and to want that realness in the form of a man that he can love and can love him back. The intimacy they shared was beautiful, and we can hope only the start. They will have to control how they behave towards each other. How far from Hawaii are they now? They will have to start to make plans. Julian will have to make some decisions based on what the situation his father has sent him into. But they will also have to figure out how to keep their secret and stay together during this.

Chapter 15 The Bond Between
centexhairysub commented on Grayson Rose's story chapter in Chapter 15 The Bond Between
Dale is evil. Dale must die. -
Will does not forgive easily, neither Austin, Travis, nor Kendo. Austin and he are friends, so they might survive. Will loves Travis, so depending on what he finds out or decides, they might accidently survive. Plus, Travis is connected to the family in ways that few others are, through blood and real affection, and that will matter. Kendo is dead. I am surprised that Will left the house with him still alive. Jeff is right, he and others should have been checking on Travis a hell of a lot more than any of them did. Jeff and Will are in for a hell of a night, or so I have been told. GHB can make things more than a little interesting. What will Travis think when he sees the ring? How will Kendo play this? How long will Kendo be alive? So many damn unanswered questions...

Thokk has finally realized what his job truly is, taking care of the court and all those dependent on it. Korgar and Larran are children, running after each new little plaything or distraction. Lady Sabina is a consort and wrapped in a cocoon. Henry is hurt, he might be learning things, but the whispers of why he was truly brought here has reached him. With Korgar and Larran gone, will Thokk be able to make some changes? Will he be able to prove to Henry that the whispers were not fully true? Will Thokk be able to master the court?

Lunch with Uncle Edwin
centexhairysub commented on Robert Hugill's story chapter in Lunch with Uncle Edwin
Wonderful chapter, and so many little funny moments. I agree, so hard to tie a tie on another person when they are wearing it, I always have to put it on me, tie it, and then give it to them to slip on. Uncle Edwin is better than I thought he was. I think he does want to help, but just really doesn't seem to have any idea how to. Thinks he has to take charge, since the others in his life have not been successful in the way he views success. Can't wait to see what Edwin comes up with... -
So excited to see Shane and Jimmy, and Shane a police officer, and what about Jimmy? Levi is slowly rebuilding connections, Jimmy and Dan are coming around, perhaps they understand the pull better that Levi felt for Casey. Brooke is still keeping her distance, but the ice is melting. Matt and Luke both care and are trying to help, Matt being a little harder, but it was his car that he truly cared about; and Luke who understands there are consequences, but thinks Matt may be coming on a little strong. I think that Shane has a suspicion as to what happened, at least part of it, but nothing else to go on as of yet. Nice that we had a mention of so many from the past, maybe we will get to see some of them more as the story progresses.

Loved it, he needed Xavier on some level that even he could not comprehend, but when he finally got him; he dosed off. LO.... If this is any indication of how powerful he will be, everyone better watch out. He will have the strength of an Alpha, but the training of true military precision and power. A deadly combination of skill and strength. Well, if the pack did not know how Austin felt about Xavier, they do now...

Young love, sweet and fun; but rarely runs true. Way too many things can happen when you are that age: actions, words, emotions take off and run rampant before common sense can kick in. Nice that they have a place like that to retreat to, and someone that trust them to go alone. I don't think college is necessary for all people, it just isn't a good fit for some. That said, it does allow you to experience new things and people in a totally new way. I think everyone should travel more; amazes me that some people never seem to go anywhere or see or experience anything new at all.

Julian feels a certainty about Sam that I do not believe he has ever felt about anyone else. Julian needs Sam in a way that he has never needed another person. Sam cares for Julian, but Sam is of the sea; and I do not know that he will be willing to give that up for Julian or any man. Those that choose the sea are as much chosen by it as they choose. It is not something that some men can just walk away from and be happy. They have both made a decision, let's hope they can both live with the outcome.

Humans beneath the Mountain: A Warning
centexhairysub commented on Celian's story chapter in Humans beneath the Mountain: A Warning
Great information, and this being the case, Henry should have a good life, even if he spends decades here and then returns to his village. -
Chapter 13 Fox and Other Tales
centexhairysub commented on Headstall's story chapter in Chapter 13 Fox and Other Tales
So glad that Runyon went with his guts and turned around. Regis and Darnell will be safe, we can hope, and if they can get to where they are going, maybe they can both learn to work on timepieces or clocks, would have been a well-respected and needed craftsman back then. Darnell did what he had to do, and hopefully they will both be safe. Glad that Runyon was able to catch up to August and Fletcher before they got to town. Now if only Willy James will get a move on, we can hope he is safe as well. Appears that August's grandmother is still well liked and his grandfather and mother were all well liked and well-remembered. That well stand him and the others in good stead. Back then, family connections mattered, and those that were well thought of, often smoothed the way for others of their own family. Can't wait to see what happens next, and Willy James needs to hurry up.- 44 comments

So, the mothers are off to help a friend in distress at Christmas and enjoy large amounts of gin. Charlie will be in Paris with Marcin. And Alex and Neil will have a stress-free Christmas? We will see, I personally have never managed that, even on my own. LOL. Children? Well, Neil strikes me as the type that will eventually want them, but Alex, maybe a little less so. I have managed to make do with nieces and nephews, and they can be sent home hopped up on sugar.

Levi has started to be honest about what happened, but I do think that Matt's advice is good as well. Rumors are hard to stop, and sometimes the only way to get past them is to say nothing because anything you say will just had flames to the fire. Casey, at least to me, once again proved how really terrible he is, he could help silence the rumors but honestly seems to be encouraging them. And like all Thompsons, is not going to like the police to be coming around questioning him. Jimmy, Dan, and Brooke haven't forgiven, but they are at least hearing him out.

Hot damn, Xavier is in for it. Evelyn being there may be an issue until he can develop some control, but with his past, I would think it would come fast, but we will see. His father better hope he never runs into Austin in a dark alley anywhere.

Wonderful chapter, like how something innocent turned a little educational and intimate. Glad that Henry can at least defend himself somewhat, maybe not up to orc standards but still.

Chapter 14 For The Love Of Him
centexhairysub commented on Grayson Rose's story chapter in Chapter 14 For The Love Of Him
Daisy saved Jamie, and Dale will kill her for it if he ever figures it out. Connor finally realized that he does love Jamie. Dale is evil and already plotting something else.
