  1. Richie sounds like a hoot. They found something that might help Eric, maybe someone in their area could get a program started. Sounds like they truly enjoyed their day, and their night is about to get excellent.

    On Display

Brian to the rescue again. So glad the boys appreciated the gift, Eric enjoyed doing it for them.

    Pride of Place

In my book, few things beat a quiet meal with good friends. Sounds like Eric is beginning to realize that as well. Can't wait to see Eric at Pride.

    Lacking Means

Andy has come a long way in learning how to respond and talk with Eric. Eric has his pride, and can be prickly, but he does appreciate everything that Andy and Adam by extension has done for him.

    Wiped Out

I think Eric would love to be at a Pride event. While we do tend to focus on youth in our culture, most Pride events that I have attended do have a good attendance from the senior community. Andy and Adam had a find time, but now comes a rather hard conversation.

    Adventure

I just love the wordplay and how Adam and Andy are with each other. Adam is going to be furious when Andy had that conversation with him. Eric finds that two strangers stopped to help in minor ways, there are still good people out there. LOL Eric spies an old acquaintance, and takes a quick look back and thinks what might have been.

    Homelife

As I stated in a previous chapter, I never got staying with someone that abused you. I personally never experienced it and the one time my stepfather raised his hand to my mother, she put her hand up and told him he better kill her, because he would have to sleep at some point, and she would kill him. He put his hand down and she got us together and walked out. Never understood the need to physically, emotionally, or verbally degrade or hurt anyone either; what makes someone do that? I know all the pat answers, but just don't understand why truly.
  8. The dinner went much better than I expected, glad to see it. I admit that I was worried, but Eric and Claire and the rest had a really nice visit. I am glad that Claire made the suggestion about Eric doing a video, hope he does.

    Out and About

Really, sometimes you just can't get away from the nosy neighbors, LOL I hope some of what Andy said sticks with Eric, just a short-day trip might do him a world of good.

    Together

Love Eric getting out with Andy and seeing gardens from a different perspective. Plus, just good for him to be out and about, getting some fresh air and moving around. I have never understood anyone that put up with abuse. I guess it is one of those things that unless you are in that situation and walking in their shoes, you just don't understand all of the issues.

    Mixed Emotions

The gay community has always been a convenient target for any societal backlash brewing or anything an opportunistic politician can try and whip up. At Eric's age, some of his routines are written in stone, and while I am sure he does appreciate everything that Andy and Adam have done for him, he likes his routines.

    Guests

Good for Sandra. And I am glad that Brian came to visit Eric. Brian may not realize it, but he is one of Eric's touchstones to the outside world.
  13. Bloody social services, they get their hooks into you and don't want to let go. And half the time, their wards are worse than staying at home and suffering there. Brian came through in a pinch and just how didn't he. I am glad that Andy and Adam were able to help, but this is truly going above and beyond.

    Happenings

Oh Lord, let's hope that Eric is okay, a fall at that age can do a lot of damage. I don't think Brian had an issue with Eric being gay; it was more the shock of him coming out and just saying it like that than anything else. Well, the wedding seems to be coming together, even if it isn't a summer one.

    Distractions

Glad that Andy and Adam are moving forward on their wedding, but equally glad that they are going to have Eric and Claire over for supper. And Claire is a godsend as well, especially if she can get a food bank up and running, such a worthy thing to do. I do worry about Eric living alone, those kids may not hang around since the cottage and garden are fixed up, but Eric would be an easy target for them.

    Just Desserts

Well, I would not be surprised if the nosy neighbor is not responsible for some of the rumors about Eric. We all have someone like that in our neighborhoods. Claire cares, and sounds like she tries, which can be half the battle in charities like that. Glad Andy decided to take this seriously.

    Connected

Eric has taken a step into the great unknown. Let's hope it leads to good things for him. So glad that Andy is around to help. Having the raised garden beds was a great idea. Hope he picks up the drawing again soon.

    Hot and Cold

Eric understandably wants some privacy for some things that he might want to search for. The graffiti on his cottage proves that some people think the worse of others with or without proof. Andy and Adam are still there trying to help Eric, such a blessing. Sandra is right, as we age, it is easy to find yourself lonely and isolated. Andy has been a godsend to Eric. Glad that the cottage has been worked on and fixed up, and the garden and walk fixed up as well.
  19. I just can't stop crying. Luka gave all for Devin, let's hope the other part of the bargain is kept and Devin leaves, maybe he does go on to Lisbon. Even if he doesn't remember Luka, I am not sure that Devin will ever be complete without him.
  20. One of the things that I really enjoy about the weekly look back in the blogs is finding mentions of stories that perhaps you did not find the first time around. This is one such story. The characters and writing were truly first rate. And the story is a more common one than many realize but told with humor and compassion. Highly recommend this story, and I hope others like me find it and give it a chance.
  21. This chapter just made me sad, even the lovemaking was sad to me. Luka finally had the courage to tell Devin what he meant to him; but then has Mezenga promise to erase Devin's memory so that he will never remember the person that loved him wholly, fully, and without conditions. While I think the tree was changed by absorbing the love that was flowing from Luka and Devin, I don't see how that will change the trajectory of the story. The future may change, but the tree wants to live as much as any creature does.
  22. Thanks for the update, hope those that enjoy this weekend remember what it is truly meant to be about.

    Chapter 10

Sade, Daniel, and Aaron need to find out who was behind this and quick. Once it is made public, even just in the pack that Xavier will not be the next Alpha, machinations will start, and others will start circling. Austin is so screwed.
  24. A wonderfully fleshed out story with some truly brilliant characters. The writing is first rate, the pacing excellent, and the story is addictive. While some may find aspects of this story hard to deal with, and some of them even bothered me; the scope of the story is so well-done that for me it overcame that and was well worth the read.

    Family Tree

I do hope perhaps a sequel or a parallel story perhaps...
