Chase is a manipulative turd and Coop is an immature idiot who forgets his responsibilities and true friends when tempted by Chase. Will he do it again? I wouldn't be surprised. Sometimes life is complicated because we make it that way. Unfortunately, that screws it up for all those impacted by our actions.

LIke some of our politicians, these kids don't know any boundaries of decency. It's their way or the highway. While I realize that the past was not perfect, it was in many ways a kinder and gentler time. Of course it is not politically correct to teach ethical and moral behavior in school anymore. One result is our whole society has lost its sense of right and wrong. Your story reflects this and is a moral indictment of my generation for failing to pass on values and a sense of decency.

I read through the four chapters posted and I really like your story so far. I only hope our rare psionic captive is not "spaced" too soon!

Gathan is not the most mature fellow, but in his defense, he does not suffer fools gladly and has already written off both Kristin's parents. That may be short-sighted as she might have differing ideas, but I just don't see them ever settling down in Ohio. Gathan is too outspoken to be a politician. I see him becoming Brad & Stef's protege in business down the road. But first I am anxiously awaiting how he interacts with the hockey crowd. Will was love sick over his cousin, kidnapped in Paris, and found lust/love in Rome and is now lovesick for 'Berto while back in California. I'm wondering how school will play out for him as well?

Devon is just being true to form. The interesting twist is that the story seems to imply she can control her children's contact with their dad. Even if she blocks their cell phones so they can only call certain numbers, kids will just borrow someone else's that isn't blocked. Coop really should have expected all this and more. She was going to conventions as often as possible and avoided sex with him. He knew a break-up was due, his problem was letting The Asshole that walked out on him, back into life and use him as his excuse to ask for a divorce. That was the straw that broke the camel's back and he should have seen it coming. He is so impetuous, he couldn't even keep his mouth shut during the hearing and did himself no favors with the judge. All in all, his total behavior lacks judgment and maturity. That will not put him in good standing with a family court judge. He really could lose it all and have only himself to blame.

Well now, how did he come by the life sized candle? If 'tis the "real thing", then anything is possible. The new character=the archer? Right?

Poor Pat. Robbie explained about Paris and they made the connection that Will was conceived during the time Robbie was in Jail--cool. Darius did a really nice thing giving up his appointment to Annapolis, but that doesn't explain why he is going to a second tier school in Ohio. Of course, it's to be closer to Ell. He still had his pick of much better schools, both in California or Chicago, or his fathers' alma maters as a legacy. The dynamic between the brothers who range in age from 18 to almost 14 was interesting in that they didn't argue the whole time.

Working through your feelings about the past can be difficult. It is a fine line between synthesizing so you can move on and stewing or worrying something until it consumes you. I have found that being thankful for the little joys, smiles, and kind words that I feel, see or hear on a daily basis can help put life into perspective so that I don't let the things I hate come to define me. Your poem is heartfelt and I encourage you to keep writing!

Reason is one thing. Lust is another. Seems these two are heavily into lust.

Hot casual, sexy blowjobs are always fun, but with a married man that wants more of a relationship and is 10 years older? Not too smart. As an older married guy, it is always flattering to be able to attract a younger unattached stud. But starting a relationship is time consuming, especially when you have responsibilities including a family. Divorces are messy and VERY expensive. As well as being emotionally draining and who wants to deal with that? Sounds like something anyone would do well to break off at once, especially on the part of the unencumbered party. At 26 finding someone with the right "chemistry" who is available is not all that difficult. Meanwhile our hot young stud can enjoy all the eye candy the beach affords.

Tori is a grade A bitch with a mean, nasty streak. Our hero knew that and still went and pissed her off; on purpose. The old saying about "hell hath no fury like a woman scorned" is equally applicable to a pissed off bitch. So I guess, our main character has brought down "Gehenna" on himself. Playing with fire really can get you burnt.

Sexually speaking, our three malcontents, seem fully engaged but temporarily satisfied, so they can do some thinking with their other head. Seems their enemies have been fully engaged in finding them as well, so it appears their tryst, as exciting as it was written over the past two chapters will abruptly come to an end. Hopefully, there is an escape hatch and not a cliff-hangar.

Well poop! Not the chapter, but my reaction to how our multi-specie being (Glory) continues to be treated. Mr. Fougue has been too smug in his beliefs and certainly needs to be taken down a notch. Valentine is headed for the dungeon and may be forced to endure Pixie's company. All in all, not a very nice way to treat a guest. Nephy, can you stretch this out for another 4-5 chapters? Please? And don't overdo the cat persona!

It seems the story will not be hurried. Gonzo and Henry are starting to sniff the drug connection. Joel and Lisa are headed back to the guest house and to talk to Trevor tomorrow which may be their final undoing. Jim and Dirk maybe get a pass for turning themselves in after the 17th(?) and the wicked witch and her dirty cop are still plotting. Sanchez is not snoozing either. Warning, Warning, danger ahead!

Gathan and Kristin, acting like they will be separated for a school year...somehow, I don't see that happening. Somehow she has become a vital foil for one of the main characters in the story. Will and Brad enjoyed surfing and then Brad calmly accepts Will's confession like a benevolent priest and assigns hail mary's (as in extra community service). Somehow, it lacked the emotinal punch I was expecting. I actually pictured Will becoming so fearful of Brad's reaction that he waited until he could tell Robbie and Brad together. I know the episode in the gay bar sparked a huge amount of discussion in the forum and chapter comments. While I didn't expect Brad to go ballistic, I expected Will to be a lot more fearful that it wouldn't go well and that he would want the cover of Robbie being present. Children often over/under estimate their parent's reactions. Robbie still has his own guilt about Brad and Will's abduction in Paris and the mix could have been cathartic. Just saying!

It is your story and I don't have to like how it is going. And I don't. I found many parts less than believable. Guys who are cold cocked with a nearly broken jaw, do put ice on it, but don't grab a bottle of warm white wine and slink off to someone's house. They may call someone and ask them to come over, or ask if they can come over, but to interrupt? These guys are supposed to be in their 40's. Coop is a terminal f**k-up. Hooking up again with Kyle was as stupid in this context as Coop's falling for Chase after 20 years---and how does the chapter end? With Chase at the door with flowers and Coop getting all gooey. Phooey! The reactions from Spence and Sebastion were only slightly more realistic. Spence new what happened and let Kyle talk him out of it----not gonna happen. They know each other too well. Again, it makes for drama, I just have a hard time finding it reality based. {Edited in 2018----This is an example of a chapter comment that looking back has me embarrassed. While I'm not saying my opinion was B.S. I do recognize that I probably was injecting my personal bias into another author's story in a way that was less than diplomatic or appreciated...despite what JWolf says below!}

Interesting by-play with the lawyers and of course JP dropping his bombshell news. The tidbit about the relative wealth or lack thereof concerning Kristin's parents was also interesting, as was Stef's clear threat on the realestate deal The only question I have, is that the meeting seems to have got off the track Kristin wanted to pursue. She did not want to have someone else appointed her guardian until age 18, she wanted emancipation from minor status. As such she would not require a guardian as I understand the law. Is it different in Ohio? She is 17 after all. Her threat against her father also seems to have been conveniently forgotten, except perhaps by Kristen....

Somehow, with all the set-up and plans enumerated, I suspect our devious author has something completely unexpected to develop in the next couple of chapters. Our intrepid hero Trevor and his current side-kick Shane may actually see some 'old west' style action soon and very soon.

Short, dramatic and not so sweet. Not exactly Pandora's box, but nasty never-the-less. This could be short story as we've been warned the next chapter is set in 2012. Hmmm, 210+2012=2222. Numerology? Energy overload?

Well the sudden flight gave them some time together, but it seems it is still the little heads getting all the action, not that i'm complaining. Still wondering where this is all going.

Well now, I am not a cat person. Neither am I much into vampires. I am a dog person and the only character outside of our multi-faceted hero whom I like is Rover.... I am looking forward to seeing what happens when the master Vamp returns. Nephy, your use of descriptive words is almost poetry at times; but I swear you come from a really dark place as it manifests at it's peak when describing existence at its lowest. The beginning of the first chapter was exquisitely described as he awakened, cold, hugging the ground under the tree. It built from there.

Now that is quite close to a cliff-hangar.

Chapter 1 sets the stage richly with some fascinating ancient far east history references, which should be perhaps called folklore. That is always a good place to start a tale. I look forward to the next installment.

Well now, our anti-hero's fall from grace is all but complete. I guess I just expected better. The proverbial shit hitting the fan often leaves detritus on more than just the intended.
