Glad and surprised to see chapter 11 up today. Thanks! Still not sure how powerful Jiovanni will be or whether Micah will make it through his ordeal. I agree with Nephy that only Cody seems to be in decent place. I wonder how Vincent would feel about how things have turned out?

Read through the 10 chapters and was repelled and drawn like a moth to the flame throughout. I have never understood the need for bondage, pain or submission on a physical level, much less an emotional one. Somehow, these 10 chapters expained it a little to me. Now I wonder how Jonnie will make it to 18; whether William will win him over through persistence and possibly caring; whether Micah will still want him at 18; whether Jonnie will prevail in court; whether the people who had his father killed can do further damage; if those people include Micah's dad?

I find it all very interesting that Mark's readers are so divided on this point. The chapter has many elements including Steff's being clearly unhappy at Will's happy ending display. If Steff who is Mark's most liberal character is unhappy, then I am glad that Robbie and Brad were not there and that their reaction will be after the fact and hopefully after some time when cooler emotions can prevail. I said in my comments on the chapter review that I though Will's dancing on display with a pole to a "happy" ending was shocking. I don't think it was unbelievable. Sexually active kids today are more comfortable with their bodies and with Will's "development" he has nothing to be embarrassed about. Brad was a risk taker sort as a teenager in his time too and so I don't think he will go off the deep-end. As a midwestern grandpa, I subscribe to Mark's fantasy description in his forum post 7-21-11 at 3:50 p.m., I also realize that in real life things don't usually work out that way. Most young males at a party act pretty much in "the moment" so I can see where the scene Mark gave could happen under the parameters described. Of course now with facebook and other social media being so big, such an act in 2011 would be all over the internet within hours. Smartphones are such a pain!

Well now, that was not terribly catastrophic. It was however, shocking behavior for a 14 year old. I think Brad and Robbie would have been a lot less understanding than Stefan. Hopefully, discretion will prevail. Will has certainly developed a wilder side while in Europe. Good thing they are soon heading back to LaLa land.

Reality strikes and Coop's fantasy world has collapsed. Chase is not only more entangled with Morgan, he looks like he is still married and has been for 14 years. I doubt this gets Coop off the hook with Kyle, Sebastion or Spence. Someone who waltz's back into your life after 20 years and misleads you about their past and tells you they did it because you wouldn't understand is a snake. Snake-oil salesmen don't change. Hopefully, Coop gets his act together and matures some more. A relationship built solely on sex is never going to work.

Punch and counter punch, will it ever be enough? While we've been given ample inspiration to hate Tori, her brother is only a notch higher. Taylor is player wannabe who has been played and now gives up his best weapon? Highschool drama about rich kids with huge insecurities, too much money, and not too much character. Maybe our hero will convince his dad to let him return to his old school and his old friends who seem more "real" by comparison.

Interesting bit about the dynamics between Gathan and Kristin. It seems he may have met his match. I still wonder if it can last based on their age and Gathan off to Stanford in the fall. Will's story is a bit more titillating which I sure enjoy! Unfortunately, he is head back to the U.S. shortly and somehow I don't think Berto will accompany him. However, I do think that bodyguard(s) will be along to the club and hopefully nothing catastrophically terrible will happen. Will has been through plenty on this summer excursion to Europe already!

Nice chapter. I like Scott more all the time, especially the way he thinks fast on his feet to ease a potentially awkward social situation. I can't wait to see how Thanksgiving goes.

I think both Will and Gathan would top someone who is HIV positive if they cared for the person and took precautions. Even in 2000, having a postive HIV status was no longer a death sentence. Also, being young, and invincible and fairly intelligent, but terminally horney, they would know the risks and ways to minimize the chance of acquiring an infection. In the current story, does Will really know for sure that Berto is not HIV positive? Even if someone has been recently tested, no one is absolutely sure unless they have been celibate and had what, 2-3 of months of testing which is negative. Ever since the AIDS era started, sex has been a crapshoot and most gay guys either calculate the odds, remain monogamous, or make the best decisions they can on the information available.

Interesting chapter, but it really didn't move the story along. So many loose ends, questions, mysteries, intrigues, just on under-boil while we wait. Wait for Trev to find out the momentous thing his father will reveal; wait for the evil witch and dirty cop to frame his friends; wait for the cop and P.I. to figure something out; wait for the errant journalist spying on his boat to come up with another piece of the puzzle; wait for the drug goon to find out something and sic his dogs on Trevor; etc. etc. etc.

I just wonder if for background, Mark read the Full text of "Horatio Nelson and the Naval Supremacy of England"? It gives dates, battles and insight into the thoughts of the man. From my scant research, I think Mark does a great job of incorporating historical references and follows the time line pretty well. Without a real sailing background, it is still unimaginable to me how all these sailors fit on these comparatively small ships. If you have ever been to Boston Harbor (Old Ironsides or the USS Constituion) or Baltimore Harbor (USS Constellation) and actually got on and toured one of the old sailing ships, you know what I mean.

Way to go Tonya! Rick Jr.'s mom protected her cub and informed his dad how things were gonna' be. Charlie's family is even better than they thought. Charlie's mom wants to know and Charlie told them he was taking it slow. Perfect! I loved this chapter. I think the comment about swimming missed the connection to Wade's hands. For a guy who has probably swum 5-6 hours a day, everyday, anything (like a cast) that keeps him out of the water will certainly affect his time and it's all about his time!

Well, I see Will did get the Italian tickler and now wonders if it will get better and better or remain just okay; which again, is a rather mature thought for a young gay teen. The Zach storyline has me wondering if he really will develop into a more troublesome pain in the butt? Finally, it looks like we will get to J.P.'s surgery and get some idea of the post-op treatment and prognosis.

I suspect you will finish it as 'lie on the morrow.' If you were using more period English, but since you are not, I would change it to 'lie on the horizon.' At any rate, that is small potatoes in another first rate chapter filled with action and more personal loss.

Ready thru the four chapters yho have up and am enjoying your story of inter-species relations among 3 hot gay guys. The threesome was awesome. As for plot, it seems likely that several pieces of the puzzle are missing. If there was a hush-hush cover story to get Shade to get the Vamp Mac, then Maggie wouldn't have heard what she heard in her little saloon. That was too convenient. Hopefully, the sudden run actually gives them sometime to put their big heads together and brainstorm over what is going down. Of course, I expect the littler heads to get together as well.

These guys have been friends for more than 20 years. Coop was filled in by Spence about things from Kyle's perspective. Coop dealt with Sebastion. It was just barely believable. Spence as Kyle's best and longest friend seems like he would have been harder on Coop. Sebastion, was harder, but with Devon actually having just been there, not as much as I expected. Coop still hasn't talked again to Kyle, his friend, former lover, and lawyer, not even to discuss divorce strategy??? The story is progessing smoothly, with just minor hiccups and tears from his daughter and some support from his son. All just a little too pat. When marriages crumble, people get hit with falling brickbats as emotions spill out of control. Things spiral and the nitty-gritty is usually not pretty. Most of us have seen friends go through divorces. Some even in this very situation. The angst is palpable in real life, dealing with kids who are confused and even perhaps ashamed in this era when children are very opinionated and not afraid to voice their emotions and anger can be quite harsh. I like the story, but somehow it lacks the drama and emotion I would expect from this plot-line. But keep it coming, I'm sure you will fill in the blanks.

NO skipping over stuff allowed, despite Private Tim's comments. I am enjoying this dual tracked story too much! Names in the last 25 years have gotten really individualized, especially among the younger folk. I have seen so many weird spellings and unusual names that I am astounded to meet a young person named Mike, Bill, Dave, Bob, Tom, Dick or Harry; not to mention, Betty, Sue or Mary! My only critique is that Will's portrayal seems more like a 16-17 year old than an early teen.

A very fast read, like most of Mark's chapters. Kristin is in an uncomfortable place and therefore so is Gathan. Zach is smarmy (I love that term!) Will is still having experiences more appropriate for a 17-18 year old and responding about that way too. Berto's endowment on the small side of average may be just the Italian 'tickler' to intiate Will into the joys of bottoming, or not!

Now replete from another banquet on sailing, George finds himself still missing Travers and worrying about Cavendish et al. Seems like he takes on a lot. Not mentioned is his ongoing concern about his own family and the outcome of their maneuvers. Seems like there are plenty of loose ends to tidy up before the major battle scene.

Revenge is a dish best served cold and I believe our dear hero just served it up to the big headed witch of a sister. Of course she probably will figure it out that he will not really carry through with his threat and there goes that, but the moment was sweet.

Sojourn is a bit over the top in his review but in general I find I am somewhat in agreement with him. For a grown-up with responsibilities, who was dumped 20 years ago, Coop is f**c{& nuts. Devon is not without blame but Coop is editing "The List" and he falls into his old ways like putting on an old jockstrap! Even if he thinks he can go back and things will be like they were, reality never works that way. In real life, not just his lawyer, but Spence, and Sebastion would desert him over this too.

My older brother was just a couple years older. My younger brothers who walked in unexpectedly were 5 and more years younger! So I agree with you on this too!
