Sad to see the closet become a cage built on deceit. However, that point is balanced by the judicious use of humor throughout, so I expect our boy Ian will manage to get through this despite his trepidation.
The Oprah line was funny and so was: "I’m sure that won’t come back to bite me in the ass."
I hope you post additional chapters regularly!
While I realize the f*bombs in the dialogue between 17 year old teens are going to happen, the f*bombs in the internal thoughts and self discussion seem a bit gratuitous.
"I have always loved math. I love the precision. The definitiveness of it. Writing an English paper is a winding road to hell. Everything is more or less gobbledygook. English and the arts are all about subjectivity. Math is precise. Definitive." I suspect that paragraph reveals more than you know about you.
Congrats on your story and on to the next chapter!
Not my favorite chapter. You've really convinced me that Aiden works for an asshole and really needs to get with Michael and see about that job offer.
Michael seems to have his own issues, but is good at getting Heath to provide details and to clarify his thinking for him.
Heath needs to figure out that Aiden needs out of that job and pronto.
Getting Aiden into bed, at least prospectively was the best part of the read.
MORE PLEASE!
Kieran learning that his opal is more than just a power source and learning different uses for it, is perhaps key to how they ever return home....in my humble opinion.
I found it to be a sad story with a ray of hope. The physical and mental injuries Elliot endures are horrific, made more so because he was the one that didn't underestimate the depravity of the abuser. That Elliot was willing to forgive and work things out with Grant and that the abuser chose that moment to inflict his abuse on Elliot was realistic but dark. The ray of hope is that they both continue to seek counseling and are moving forward with the wedding. Of course I would never invite Sarah to anything and certainly not their wedding...
Yeah, I laughed and smirked and thought it was funny. Interestingly, I also thought that the piece confirmed a stereotype that gay guys are drama queens!
It's nice to see Owen and CJ kick back and enjoy themselves. They are secure in their relationship and rather than being upset when hit upon, enjoyed the attention. I suspect CJ will always be a bit of a flirt as he has a playful side.
