Jacob realizes both his parents have severe parental deficiencies. He feels caught in the middle of an ongoing feud and is rebelling at being the wounded pawn. He is only 15 but is learning to call bullshit when he sees it. He apologizes again and again to his mother and feels sorry for his dad. I think his only option is to shun them both and concentrate on school and his music.

We're using cloth masks that loop over the ears. Not really medical, but better than nothing. We wash them with soap and water after each use and let them dry.

Made the weekly trip to the grocery store early this morning during "senior" hour and it wasn't too crowded. The store has put up additional plastic barriers between the checker and the customer and everyone was wearing masks except for a few idiots. The employees all had masks and gloves. I sure hope the "idiots" who can't follow directions don't spoil it for others. The governor announced yesterday that all schools would remain closed for the rest of the academic year. The remote learning via the internet and chromebooks for our local school district is continuing. At the beginning of the school closures, our district gave out chromebooks to all students in elementary school as our highschool and middleschool kids already had them. The most impacted students of course are the seniors who miss prom and all the parties and the last month of activities. There will be a commencement for them to receive their diplomas....they just don't know when.

Everyone thinks life sucks having to social distance and I do too, but that's nothing compared to the psychological baggage some of our veterans have to deal with on a daily basis...and for some, it's too much.

What a couple of typical sophomores. Of course they are confused and bitchy as they try to figure themselves out. I think it was a realistic portrayal. Good job!

Mark is at least more than a bit bent despite the good-bye sex with Rachel....Somehow I think that was a mistake.

Moving right along, it's still hot and rocks!

So much in one chapter. The main thing is that David is taking charge and has some clarity about what he wants and what needs to be done to accomplish that. Now if he can just get his dad and grandad on the same page....

So it's not all sweetness and light for David...or Mark. That's hardly surprising but it does raise some more speculation and questions. The cameras work. But will they reveal anything? It seems our good friend the author likes to keep his cards close to his vest.

Mullaney, that Mark's last name. Somehow I think that was an important piece of information.

There are still so many questions about Mark, and let's not forget our little thief....

David was so blinded by Mark that he didn't think to check out his room to see if anything had been moved. Granddad seems to think Mark is familiar. Makes me wonder if Sid would know who he is? St. Pat's Basilica, another thing I have to check out on line.

"I was wrong." I'm guessing he wasn't awakened by someone entering...and now I'm off to the next chapter to find out. Maybe.

Why do I think the title is revealing something about the missing bread...I just wonder who the little thief is and how soon he and David actually meet!

OK, Jake is definitely gay and Danny is at least adventurous. Jake zeroed in on Danny's dad and his flexing buttocks in a telling way. But these guys are 9th graders and hardons are a fact of life several times a day.

I don't understand why Jett doesn't just throw the old fossil out. No one has a right to treat their children like grunts in boot camp.

They say distance makes the heart grow fonder, and the distance in time between this and the last chapter bears that out. Thank-you! Thank-you! Thank-you!
