Brad's self-image acceptance to the point of appearing in an underwear add says a lot about his emotional and physical progress since the explosion. Good job. The idea of perhaps an even longer distance romance is less thrilling. Those things take a lot of commitment and work...which is why so many fail.

I agree that Mr. Reilly's behaviour was uncalled for and probably counter-productive. I hope he gets laid soon and mellows out and figures out that screaming and yelling can't be his only modus operandi...

I wasn't surprised that Jake sought solace with Danny or that it progressed to sex. Now I would be surprised if Ryan made it with the big guy...

Granger is cool and handled Comstock with all the deference he deserved. He also is not worried about restocking supplies as he seems to have found an available supply to commandeer if needed.

Reinforcements Have Arrived
Daddydavek commented on Laura S. Fox's story chapter in Reinforcements Have Arrived
April and Jett got it bad and it could only be better if Jett's dad packed up and got on with his own life. -
Danny got the school board to agree. Ryan's dad made a scene and actually learned from it. Jake's dad actually stood up for his son and was proud of him. Jake stood up for Ryan and made his dad proud. Ryan is learning to control his hair trigger and to stand up for himself! Nice job of writing!

Ryan's embarrassment is understandable and sweet.

Sad to see this book end as I enjoyed it very much during this time of social isolation. Thanks Quokka!

Survivor guilt is complex and even when someone thinks they have dealt with it and moved on, can ambush you at the least expected times....
-
Interesting. I will have to try these out.

Well Danny played the remember when card and it worked as Jake realized he really was being the asshole...Somehow I don't think Jake will settle for "friends with benefits" though... But Ryan may be a different story for Jake.
-
That went well.

Danny sounded awfully sure and Jake took it hard. However like most of us, I think they are still finding and sorting things out about themselves and things can and do change, sometimes in ways we can't anticipate, much less desire....

Chapter 4 - Time to make a decision
Daddydavek commented on unilive's story chapter in Chapter 4 - Time to make a decision
Now that was hot! -
Jake got good advice from Mr. Reilly. But his birthday was not the fun bash he deserved...

There is a reason that 2.5 billion oriental people are wearing them when they have to go out. As Droughtquake and Zombie have noted, they do have their limitations but they are better than nothing when you have to get out to get groceries or to the drug store. Additionally, if they are washed completely with soap and water after each time you go out and are completely dry before wearing out again, they do prevent some spread of the contagion. Every little bit helps and that is why some places are making them mandatory. The most alarming facts I've found about this virus is that scientist are unable to get a clue as to why some patients clearly infected are completely or nearly symptom free, while others have ongoing mild to moderate symptoms for some time, while others quickly deteriorate and need a ventilator in a matter of just days. They are still sorting out the extraneous variables and of course underlying conditions are a factor, but even some people with serious underlying factors don't do too bad and some fairly young people with no underlying conditions have devastatingly mortal effects. The health officials are less than transparent about the rate of death once a patient is put on a ventilator and how many recover and can get off. Finally the anecdotal details of those who survived and were weaned off the ventilator indicates all have some residual loss of lung capacity and most have some significant loss. I'm not alone in thinking we know less than we need to know and until we have widespread testing for active virus as well as widespread testing for antibodies the epidemiologists and infection control specialists are just guessing as to when we can begin ending sheltering in place. Any vaccine, no matter how much money is spent is at best a year away and probably 18 months until one is widely available. I worry by that time the toll may be in the tens of millions.... My other worry is that as governments become more desperate in trying to control the epidemic, people are losing their liberties in unprecedented ways and they may never be reclaimed...

Dean and Lance sure seemed eager to share a smaller cabin.... We remain clueless about Reid and what really interests him as a teenager. The good doctor as always is again making plans on the fly and who knows what his interests really are. After 30 chapters I thought I'd have a better sense of who these people really are or could be.

How Do You Like Your Potatoes Peeled?
Daddydavek commented on Laura S. Fox's story chapter in How Do You Like Your Potatoes Peeled?
It's fun to think that April is actually handling Jett's dad better than Jett or Carina, but somehow I think his insecurities may be revealed to Sid.... -
No one made you read this story and under the constitution of the country I served in the Army in Vietnam for, everyone has the right to free speech and their own opinion. So if you want to write a story that is full of right wing crap that is your right, but don't condemn someone or their writing just because they listen to more than one source of news....

I googled Broome and it's a big tourist destination with lots to see and do.

The catamaran will have a different movement or roll than the yacht and it's good that no one got sea sick.

Dr. James does seem a bit flighty throwing himself into one thing after another....
-
Dean and Lance seem to like their jobs in the new town and seem to be joined at the hip...so to speak.

From the chapter and the above discussion I take it that Tim is a bit needy with physical connections with his mate?
