NightOwl88 replied to David McLeod's topic in Promoted Author Discussion Forum
I agree with Nephylim on this one, charming, wonderful. I am curious indeed about your Druid, its a not a branch of Paganism I know too much about; though it is deffinatly one I'll be looking at. -
I third lol

Awhile back I saw a story for it on Nifty Arthur and Merlin was its title, I don't think it was complete though, it was in teh celebrity section. If I come across it I'll post the link. I really enjoyed the show and I hope to get to see the second season of it.

Happy Birthday Sir Galahad I hope its a great one.

Yea same here lol, I looked at this last night and thought it would be pretty cool.

There are really only two songs that make me cry, one of them goes all the way back to my childhood. "Walk a little Straighter" By Billy Currington. It talks about a boy growing up with a distant, alchoholic father. My dad wasn't/isn't an alchy but I can relate to the feeling of gorwing up wondering if my dad ever really loved me. "How can I help you to say goodbye" By Patty Loveless. The song deals with a women having to say goodbye to various important people in her life, her best friend as a child, her divorce from her husband and ultimatly the death of her mother. I can't listen to eaother of these songs without just completely breaking down. Maybe my cousin is right, i do need therapy lol.
-
Would your friend be willing to corrospond with me? I would be interesting in picking his brain. I've done some *very limited* research on the Otherkin phenomena though my friend Aradian thinks its a topic I should explore, with my recurring animalistic episodes.
-
REALLY!!! that makes me smile then lol. I've done a bit of research on the Myths, most of them agree that silver does work.. Thinking metaphysically would seem to negate that though, Werewolves transform at the Fullmoon, the Fullmoon is traditionally associated with the Goddess and silver is sacred to most Fullmoon Goddesses'.
-
Nephylim have I ever told you that I love how intense you are? I myself have never seen the movies, or read the books for that matter; but I have had conflicting reports as to the quality of the movies. I wouldn't mind meeting Edward Cullen either, though for vastly different reasons .
-
I just had the chance to read through your short comedies and I have to admit, they were great. Reading through them sort ofput me in mind of some old stage skits I watched a kid, funny, very enjoyable.
-
Hmm maybe its just me but I'm getting the feeling that you don't like Twilight all that much Nephylim lol. Happy Halloween, Blessed Samhain, and All Saints Eve everyone. Best Wishes, and bad Dreams lol. NightOwl88

I would choose to be a Werewolf, its cliche I know but I have always been facinated/intrigued by the Werewolf myths. Just something about the sheer, primal connection to the natural world is very alluring to me. Beside I have some very....animalistic/wolfish....qualities to me and I do get a little strange at the fullmoon, especially on the third night; I was born on the third night of the fullmoon lol. The only draw back would be I'd never be able to wear silver again, I like silver.

I throughly enjoyed this chapter, the mix of emotions you wrote into flowed together seemlessly. Excitment, trepidation, happiness, and saddness were done very well. I was a bit sad to see Josephus die but I understand why it had to happen. A great chapter and wondeful story. Best Wishes, NightOwl -
Hey CIA, good to see you again. I've become a real stickler for details, i like things to be accurate, even within the frame of creative license. I most likely won't change too much about the situation but I will make some adjustments to my details. Dealing with a blind charecter has posed some problems for me but I've done the best i can to describe things from his point of view as well as I can and try to not overly enphasize the issues he has with it, just sort of make people aware of them. I like you haven't had the missfortune to ahve to deal with such a disorder before either,a dn i feel for you and the situation you found yourself in, I am glad that you seem to have gotten better, at least I hope you have. I've also really tried to keep Zeek as independant as possible in order to sort of balance out Jake's desire to care for him, which is an extension of his true feelings for him. A storm scene will be here quite soon, i hope your not dissapointed lol. BEst Wishes. NightOwl88

Ok I am going to cop to it right now, I have not had a chance to read any of your work other then this story. That said not only do I love it from a readers POV but I find it intruiging as a writer and as Wiccan/Mystic. I agree with all of Nephylim's earliers observations on your use of and explination of magic in the story, its rather fascinating and very refreshing to see someone take the approach to it that you have. I've read all the current chapters of the story and I fully intend to continue reading, as well as check out your other work as soon as i get the chance. Keep writing, Best Wishes. NightOwl88 -
I can't really offer you advice as to why you still think about her dude, only sympathize cause I know what you mean. When I was younger (before the whole gay realization thing) I was friends with a girl named Whitney. We weren't even best firends just really good ones. We moved away from eachother before any sort of desire could be felt by either of us but to this day I still think about her, more so then a lot of my friends I had back then. I dunno why I just do, I miss her too. Like I said, its not help to you but its something similer.

I can't wear ball caps or *fashion* hats because my head is too big lol. The only hat I ever wear is my tobagan, which I look pretty tuff in lol. I wouldn't mind being able to wear a ball cap, especially when i'm outside or go walking or hiking, but I've priced ones that would fit me online and its stupid to spend that kind of money lol.
-
There are a few too many songs for me to list lol. But a few recent ones that make me smile are 'Bonfire' By Craig Morgan, and 'Runaway' By Love and Theft.
-
That is...kinda creepy lol. I eat fast food maybe once or twice a weeks, but its vary rarely mcdonalds, I prefer tacobell or burgerking lol.

I really need to start checking my email more. I hope you guys don't mind me replying en masse like this, it'll cut down on space. If you do then I hope youll forgive me lol. Hello Nephylim, I'm glad to see you back so soon. I am supremely glad that you are enjoying the story and I look forward to hearing from you. Not a lot of people have been miffed by my medical details, and those who have been; other then Altimexis (thank you so muchBTW) have given me anything concrete to go on. I wanted to make it clear early in the story the level of commitment between Zeeka dn Jake, even before putting them together. I guess the friends falling for eachother theme is common in my though process, fulfillment of a fantasy I suppose lol. I'm glad to have you here Conner, I hope it won't be the last time. I am very glad you are enjoying the story, and I hope you'll continue to. A conflict between Jake and Rick is coming, though I don't know if you will like how it is described, though if you don't I promise there will be a proper *showdown* later in the story, I hope you'll stick around for it. Good to meet you FishWings, I hope you'll become a regular face. Abuse agianst blind/visually impaired and deaf kids in school is actualy a lot larger of a problem then anyone wants to admit, I had a study saved on my pc at one time that I could try look up and post it here if you like. As to your question, a lot of blind/visually impaired people experiance discomfort and even pain when their eyes are exposed to brightlight or sunlight to many wear sunglasses in order to protect their eyes. Well I hope you all will forgive my method of repling if it is difficult to understand, I'll try to be more considerate in the future. Best Wishes to all, NightOwl88

My condolence's and prayers go to you and your family. Lossing a loved one so young...I can't imagine. I am truely sorry.
-
I can't say i know exactly what you are going through, my older brother and I never got along, kids or adults. The question you posed in the title Should I or Should I not is easy, you should. I speak from experiance, if you let this stuff seep and fester in your relationship you'll regret it. My advice isn't much different then anyone elses you've had so far. Appologize for the fight that occured, make sure he knows that you still love him and tell him you want things to be better between the two of you again. If he gets angry or hostile don't respond in kind, don't ignore the fact that he's angry but don't respond out of anger. If things don't go well the first time then tell him that you'll always be there for him if he needs to talk, let things settle for a bit then try again. Always be as positive as you can be, if he insults you accept it and move on, if he threatens you don't show fear, and if he attacks you walk away, but always make sure he knows you still care. Best Wishes, Nightowl88.

First I want to say thanks to Altimexis and Nephylim for being the first to post in the forum, and Rush of course. Since I'm a little short on time I'll answer both of you at once. Nephylim I'm glad that you approves of the way I wrote about Zeek's handicap, like you said I didn't want to be the all consuming focus of this story, while true it plays a vital role through out the story (of course) I've tried to right it as a sort of *evolving through* instead of a *dealing with* kind of situation, if that makes sense. I'm going to be shameless enough to admit this, I'm glad your hooked lol and I look forward to hearing from you in the future. I want to thank you Altimexis for bringing these issues to my attention I will admit that when I first started writing this story that my research was spotty, and lacking. I do have a link that might answer some of the questions you posed and as to those that this link does not answer I will likely be making some changes to the story here quite soon, as soon as I ge the chance anyway. I hope you both can over look my inaccuracies and will continue to read, enjoy, and let me know what you think. BEst Wishes, Nightowl88 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Keratoconus
