Inspired by an idea my girlfriend and I are growing, The Cheerleader and the Art Geek is a short collection of romantic stories based off of different aspects of our relationship. Each is titled with one of the songs we love, and when put all together, map a love story as beautiful as a rainbow on a sunny day. 2008 Spring Anthology

George Corwin wins a special election to become Sheriff of Essex County Massachusetts, and on Halloween he learns the job includes more than he was expecting. Maybe he should have studied the history of the county before he decided to run.

Carl Waite goes out for his morning walk in the park, and along the way he passes an old man sitting on a park bench. Since the man looks sad and appears down in the dumps, Carl wishes him Merry Christmas. The old man, who we later learn is Bob Swartz, responds, “What is there to be merry about?” Carl immediately stops so he can find out why the man reacted this way.
