Jacob Finding His Way - 46. Chapter 46

Jacob and the guys spent most the night down in the game room. By midnight, everyone started to go their separate ways. Before they knew it, Jacob and Dewayne were by themselves just as they started earlier in the evening.

Dewayne is sitting on the couch in the game room, with Jacob lying down with his head on Dewayne's lap. They find themselves alone for the first time for hours. Several times throughout the night, they thought they would never be alone.

But here they are alone with each other. Dewayne started caressing Jacob's cheeks and playing with his hair, neither of the boys is talking. He noticed that Jacob kept fooling around with the ring on his finger. Not knowing really what to do, Dewayne grabbed hold of Jacob’s hand.

“I'm so sorry for fooling around with a ring. I've been debating on whether or not to take it off. I know I should because the meaning behind it is gone. It went away the day that Joey left me.”

“I'm not going to tell you what to do about your feelings. It's going to take time for you to get over Joey and I will be here every step of the way. Only you can decide when it is time to remove the ring or anything that Joey gave you.”

Jacob looked up to Dewayne thinking on how lucky he is getting such a good guy. Right there and then, Jacob realized that Joey isn't coming back. He needs to move on. So, he looked back down to his hand and pulled off the ring.

“A ring is a symbol of an unbroken circle. When it's given out to the one that you love, you believe that your love will never be broken. At least I think that about ring. This is a matching ring that Joey and I wore while we were together. He has broken the circle and that means the ring means nothing anymore.”

Jacob placed the ring into his pocket. He looked back up to Dewayne and wrapped his hands around his head and pulled it closer to him to kiss him. Just as their lips met, David called down for Jacob.

Jacob jumped up from the couch and ran up the stairs to see what David needed. As he reached the door, he found David waiting for him.

“What's going on David that sounds so important?” Jacob asked with his hands on his knees out of breath.

“Toni just called and it sounds like he is in trouble. Before he could tell me much of anything, the phone went dead. I know one thing and that is that he is at his foster home right now. I think you should head on over there, because he was asking for your help.”

Jacob turned and called down to Dewayne. Just like Jacob. Dewayne came running up stairs to see what's going on. Jacob explained everything that he knows so far to Dewayne as he walked towards the door to get his coat.

“So if you need me to drive you home, this is the time. I don't know how long it is going to take me to deal with Toni, because I really don't know what's going on. It’s best for me to drop you off before I head on over to Toni’s foster home.”

Dewayne just looked at Jacob knowing that he should go with Jacob. At the same time, if he doesn't get home by curfew, he will be punished. That means that he wouldn't be able to spend time with Jacob.

“I better just hitch a ride with you right now. If you can, drop me off on your way.” Dewayne finally answered Jacob as they walked out the door putting on their jackets.

The entire way to Dewayne's house, they didn't say a word. Dewayne keeps kicking himself for not able to go with Jacob. If anything happens to Jacob, he wouldn't be able to forgive himself for not being there to protect him.

As soon as Jacob drove up to Dewayne’s house, they did a quick kiss goodbye before Dewayne stepped out of the car. He stood there on the sidewalk watching Jacob drive away. He keeps thinking that he is letting Jacob down for not being there for him. He stood there on the sidewalk long after Jacob's lights were out of sight.

Jacob arrived at Toni’s house faster than he thought he would get there. He got out of the car and walked up to the front door and started knocking. He waited a minute or so and started knocking again. Finally, a middle-age woman opened the door.

“Hello ma'am, my name is Jacob Hernandez and I am here to see Toni. I got a strange call about forty-five minutes ago from him. So if you don't mind, may I please see Toni and I will leave your home?”

“I don't really know what to tell you as to why you got that strange call, Jacob but all the kids are asleep. Come back tomorrow and we will see if you can see him.” The lady started to close the door, but Jacob stuck his foot in.

“Ma'am, I am normally not this rude or disrespectful to others, but if I do not see Toni, I will call the police and let them know about the strange call I got from him. Then you will have no choice but to let the police see him. I know a person in your situation can’t afford the police at her house investigating reports of strange phone calls.”

“Fine, I will go up and get Toni, but you stay out of here. I don't want any problems from you or the police.” The lady turned and shut the door in Jacob's face.

Jacob stood outside at the front door, in the cold, waiting for the lady to bring Toni to the door. A couple minutes passed when he heard the door unlocked and open. Jacob turned back around and couldn't believe what he is seeing.

He pulled Toni out of the house and looked at his face. It looked like someone used him as a punching bag. Toni didn't say a word, but he started to cry. Jacob pulled Toni into him, and let him cry into his chest.

“He and another boy in the house got into a fight. By the time I separated them, the damage had already been done. The other boy got punished as well as Toni here.” The lady stuttered as she tried to explain what had happened.

“Ma'am with all due respect, I can’t see why you would have to punish Toni. He wouldn't harm a fly, much less someone he is living with. I don't understand how you can punish Toni when by the looks of it he was the receiving party.”

“Jacob, he provoked the other young man. Several other kids that were watching confirmed the other boy’s story. I'm sorry you can’t accept this, but it is true. So if you don't mind, Toni needs to go back to bed.”

“I do mind and I'm not going to let him go back into that house. You are supposed to protect every child that is in your custody. If you have too many kids where one or two of those kids flip out and hurts the others, you need to give back some of the kids.

You have two choices here. Either you let me take Toni, and after the holidays we will deal with the courts, or I go down the street to the convenience store and called the police. One way or another, Toni will not be staying the night in this house.”

The lady couldn't believe what Jacob was saying. She has never been talked to this way by a sixteen-year-old kid in her life. If one of her kids would have ever spoken to her in this fashion, they would regret that decision.

“I don't want any problems with the police. So go ahead and take Toni with you. In a couple days we will talk when you settle down.”

She walked back into the house and closed the door on Toni and Jacob. Jacob held on tight to Toni and walked him to the car. After getting Toni situated in the passenger seat, Jacob got in and headed home.

As the two of them walked into the house, they found the lights off. Jacob guided Toni into the study to take pictures. Toni at first didn't want to take off his clothes, but after Jacob explained that he needs to have pictures of every bruise. He stripped down to his boxers and socks.

Jacob finished taking the pictures and let Toni get dressed. As Toni got dressed, Jacob walked out of the study and called the police. He knows what he promised the lady at the Foster home that he wouldn't call the police, but after seeing the bruises all over Toni's body he knew that a police report needed to be made out.

Jacob put Toni in the apartment downstairs so he could have his privacy.

By the time the police showed up, took Toni’s and Jacob's statement and left, they didn't get to go to bed until after three in the morning.

The next morning, no one bothered Jacob. They all knew that something went wrong with Toni last night at his foster home. They heard the police talking with Jacob and Toni earlier that morning.

When Dewayne arrived at the house, David let him go straight up to Jacob's room. Halfway up the stairs, David called out to Dewayne to come back to him.

“I wanted to let you know whatever you are doing with Jacob, keep it up. He is my best friend and I can’t stand seeing him hurting all the time. Whenever you are around, he is happy and that is what I like.”

Dewayne just nodded his head and started back upstairs. As he reached Jacob's room, he quietly opened the door and walked in. He found Jacob sound asleep in a king size bed. Dewayne walked up to the bed taking off his shoes. He crawled into bed and cuddled up with Jacob.

Jacob didn’t move an inch when Dewayne wrapped his arms around him, not even when Dewayne cuddled up closer to Jacob. With the soothing sounds of Jacob’s breathing and his heart beat, Dewayne fell asleep cuddled up with Jacob.

The boys didn’t wake up for another couple hours. Jacob slowly woke up and realized that someone was in the bed with him. He slowly turned around in order not wake up the person lying next to him. As he got his first glimpse of Dewayne, he couldn't help leaning in and kissing Dewayne on the lips.

Little by little Dewayne woke up with Jacob helping him along the way. When he finally opened his eyes, he smiled at Jacob. They both held each other tight for a while, not letting anything from the outside in. They want at least a few minutes before the real world comes crashing back into their lives.

Then it happened, that knock on the door that brought them back to reality. Jacob turned and answered the person at the door. David walked in and turned back around when he saw Jacob and Dewayne in bed together.

“There is no need for you to turn around David. We are not naked or having sex. What is it that brought you up here?” Jacob said crawling out of his bed as he answered David.

“I came up here because Grandpa Al wanted me to get you out of bed. He would like it if you would go into the office today. He wants you to know that he knows that this is your Christmas vacation, but he feels that you need to take advantage of this time. He went on to say something about learning the business,” David said conveying the message.

Jacob understood and thanked David for passing on the message. He took a quick shower and got dressed. He invited Dewayne to go with him, but Dewayne asked if Jacob could drop them off at his house and pick him up when he is heading home instead.

The rest the afternoon he sat in the office with his grandfather learning about the franchise and all the rules. His grandfather has been taking classes and learning about the franchise ever since they got the clearance to buy the franchises.

Either during the summer or in the evenings, Jacob is going to have to take these classes also. Every franchise owner is required to take training classes on how to run the franchise. Normally they would have been taking these classes before they could take ownership, but due to the need to quickly get a buyer for the franchises, they allowed the classes to be taken after the purchase, instead of before.

Once the class was over, Jacob's grandfather called him into his office. He walked in to find several other guys sitting in the office with his grandfather. He walked around the desk and stood behind his grandfather as he started to speak.

“Jacob, these are attorneys from the law firm that represents us. They are about to tell me what they found out about the issue we found out the Mesa store. By the looks of it, the news isn't good.”

“Mr. Serna, you're right and you're wrong at the same time. As far as you and Jacob go, you guys are safe from any lawsuits right now. If the employee in question decides to sue, he can only sue the former owners.

Now of course McDonald's Corp. doesn't want this lawsuit. So if you can do what you can to keep this employee from suing, the corporation will be grateful. It would save them from another ugly legal battle and negative publicity that they can’t afford.”

“I can tell you that the young man isn't going to sue. All he wants is to work in an environment that will not hold his personal life against him. I gave him my promise that we are going to create that environment for him.”

“Great, that is one good thing I can report back to the corporate attorneys. Now there are a couple other things that you are going to have to do in order to protect yourself from lawsuits in the future.

First, you must terminate the store manager. I know she suspended right now and it's the holidays, but you got to get her off your payroll quickly. That way if any other employee decides to sue you, you are protected by being proactive.

Second, all employee records need to be gathered from your stores. I suggest that you and Jacob here go to each store and pick them up. That way they don't get a chance to change anything on the records. Employee files should always be held at this office as good business practice anyway.

Once the records are here, you need to go through each and every single one of them. If you see anything that is breaking any kind of law, you need to call in the employee and store manager in question into the office. At the same time you need to have one of us present when you deal with it.

Once you go through all the records and everything is fine. You keep all records of all your employees at this office. The store managers have the right to discipline their employee, but all write-ups must be at your office within forty-eight hours of signing. If it's not here within that time, the write up is no good.

And finally, if there are any other managers breaking the rules of this company or the rights that the employee has under the law, you must terminate them immediately and have one of us again present when you do that.

The reason we need to be present is to cover you guys legally. Trust me, when you start terminating these managers, they will not go quietly. If this situation extends to your supervisors, you need to terminate them as well. Any questions you guys have for us right now before we leave?”

Jacob looked at his grandfather and back over to the attorneys. His grandfather told the attorneys that there are no questions and if they think of any, they will call them immediately to get them answered before acting on it.

Jacob helped his grandfather lock up the office before heading out to pick up Dewayne. As he drove up to Dewayne's house, he couldn't help but think if he is Dewayne didn't get to know each other, would he have sued. Jacob just threw the thought out of his mind because it will never be answered.

Before Jacob could even get out of the car, Dewayne was already locking up the front door to his house. So Jacob decided to wait for Dewayne in the car. Jacob kissed Dewayne once he got in the car. “No problem grandpa, I will get that done first thing this morning. I will make sure to grab a box at each store to put the records in. That way none of the records get brought in mixed up with another store’s files.”

“Sounds good to me Jacob and I will see you at the office midmorning.” Grandpa Al got up from the table, but stopped at the door. “Jacob, you do know that if anything is bothering you, you can come to me. I know you are going through a really rough time, but you will get through it. You are strong and this will only make you stronger.”

Grandpa Al turned around to face Jacob because he can hear Jacob beginning to cry. He walked over to his grandson and pulled him into a hug. The minute Jacob felt his grandfather's arms around him, he fell apart. He started crying heavily nonstop into his grandfather's shoulders.

“Jacob, you've got to let him go. I know you love him and you can’t believe this is happening to you, but you've got to let him go. This is no good and you're going to get yourself sick. You should not let anyone, and especially this guy, ever get you like this. You are better than him in many ways and you know that.”

Neither of them spoke again to each other. Grandpa Al just held his grandson as tight as he could. He wants Jacob to know there is always someone he can turn to whenever he needs a shoulder to cry on or someone to talk to.

Jacob got control of himself before letting go of his grandfather. He thanked him as he headed upstairs to clean up again. After Jacob felt that he had straightened himself up enough, he left to begin his day.

As he walked into his first store, he found the store manager that he suspended in the office opening the safe. The manager jumped from the safe when she saw Jacob walking into the office.

“Where is the manager on duty right now?” The store manager just shrugged her shoulders with the deposit bag in her hands. “You are on suspension and that means you are not allowed in this store or in the store safe!”

Jacob walked out between the office and the walkway and asked one of the employees to get the manager on duty. Less than a minute later the manager walked into the office looking at Jacob with a worried look in his eyes.

“Did you give permission to Mrs. Berg to in your office?”

“Yes sir, I asked her to help me with the store deposit. We all know that she will be coming back very soon. This way she's not losing track of what's going on inside of her store while she's gone.”

“You broke company policy by doing that. You give her the new combination to the safe?” The manager nodded his head up and down. “This is outrageous and completely against all policies of this company. I need you do go and get me the other manager on duty.”

The manager walked out and came back with another manager. Jacob closed the office door and called the main office. After the secretary passed Jacob over to his grandfather, he explained everything that he found going on inside the store to his grandfather before putting him on speaker.

“Mrs. Burg you are suspended and should never have walked into that store. You know the rules and policies better than anybody else, but yet you are willing to break those policies. Jacob what is that you want to do about the situation? I will agree and back you up on whatever your decision is.”

“Mrs. Burg, you know the policies of this company and should have never walked in opened the safe while on suspension. I'm going to give you an option and it is only good for the next five minutes. You could either resign your position as store manager or I will terminate you on the spot.”

Mrs. Burg just looked at Jacob and she started to talk with a stutter in her voice. “You do not have the right to ask this of me. The worst you can do is suspend me a little bit longer, but not ask me to resign my position.”

“Fine, I was just giving you an option and you refuse to resign. As of this moment Mrs. Burg you are no longer an employee of this company. Please collect your personal belongings and go to the main office to sign your termination papers. You will meet either me or Mr. Serna at the office and we will fully explain to you on why we have the right to terminate you.”

Mrs. Burg handed the deposit bag over to Jacob and walked out of the office. Jacob stopped her in the middle of the kitchen and asked her to follow him to the back door. That is the only way they can ensure a terminated employee will not make a scene on the floor. As they reached the back door, she threatened Jacob with a lawsuit and left.

Jacob walked back into the office with his grandfather still on speaker and the other two managers standing there. “Now since you admitted to calling her over and gave her the new combination to the safe. You are suspended for two weeks without pay. When you come back to work, the cost of changing the combination to the safe will be deducted from your paycheck.

Just as I told Mrs. Burg, you need to go to the main office before heading home. You need to sign your suspension paperwork either with me or Mr. Serna. I can’t be any clearer than I am right now. The policies can’t be bent or broken at any time.”

The manager grabbed his coat and walked out of the office. Jacob spoke with his grandfather for a few minutes before hanging up the phone. Jacob started gathering the records when the store supervisor walked in.

“What in the world do you think you're doing? You are nothing but a young kid that doesn't know how to run a business. Terminating managers and suspending others on the spot isn't the right way to do things. I suggest that you do not want to get sued by Mrs. Burg. You will we rehire her and put her back on the schedule.”

“I suggest to you to watch your tone when you speak with me! You may not like getting orders from a teenager, but this teenager is your boss. There are several issues regarding Mrs. Burg. We can’t have her as an employee with this company. She can try to sue us, but she will lose.

We have already hired her replacement. If you don’t get on the right side of the respect line, I will have no other choice but to hire replacement for you. As long as no other managers in this store break company policy, there should be no other changes.”

Jacob grabbed a box of employee records and headed off to his car. The supervisor followed him outside asking him why he is taking the employee records. Once Jacob finished with the records in his car, he turned and looked at the supervisor.

“After speaking with our attorneys and what we've seen in the records at this store, we decided to pull all employee files to the main office. All records will be kept and maintained at the main office from this point on. We sent off an interoffice memo to your e-mails accounts outlining the new policies.”

Jacob got into his car and waited for a response from the supervisor. When he didn't get one, Jacob thanked the supervisor and left. By noon, Jacob had already gone to every one of the stores and collected the records.

Once Jacob got back to the office, his grandfather helped him unload the boxes of records. They had already told the secretary that she will be in charge of the employee records and that she will need to go through them one by one. If she sees anything out of place in the records, she needs to bring the record to either Jacob or his grandfather.

Jacob stuck around after lunch and took the afternoon classes with his grandfather. He couldn't believe how many policies and rules there are to run a franchise. His grandfather is going to have to go to Dallas to the Hamburger University. Jacob always thought it was just a joke, but this University does exist. To top it all off, Jacob is going to have to go also at some point.

After the classes, Jacob took off to pick up Dewayne. All day long Jacob couldn't stop thinking about Dewayne. He misses him so much; that he can’t wait to see him is all that Jacob could think about as he drove to Dewayne’s house.

Jacob parked on the street in front of Dewayne’s house and got out of the car. He walked up to the door and knocked. Before he knocked the second time, Dewayne opened the door. When he answered the door, he looked sad, but the minute he saw Jacob, he smiled and pulled him into the house.

This is the first time Jacob has seen the inside of Dewayne’s house. Also, this is the first time Jacob has seen Dewayne in just shorts. He couldn’t help but spring a hard on the minute he got a look at Dewayne’s chest and legs.

Dewayne has an athletic built to him. He has a cut chest and arms with the right muscle mass. You can see the six pack when he breathes in. His legs are big, not ugly big, but big. You can see the veins in his legs as he walks. Just like his face, Dewayne has a tan to envy. That got Jacob thinking that Dewayne has to be naturally tanned.

“I was starting to wonder if I would see you today Jacob. I know that your grandfather has you going in the office, but I was hoping to spend a little bit more time with you than what we are already.”

“I promise that we will spend all day tomorrow together. I had to do a couple things that our attorneys asked us to do immediately. After what had happened with you we decided that all employee records need to be kept at the main office. That is the only way we can keep control of what is going on in the stores.”

“That sounds like a good idea and should have been done a long time ago. The managers at the stores have way too much leeway when it comes to dealing with employees. Look, I didn't even know that I had qualified for vacation time. You guys could have cheated me out of that time and had me work to the end of my two week notice.”

Jacob walked up to Dewayne and wrapped his arms around him. Jacob started to kiss up and down Dewayne’s neck. For some reason Jacob can’t figure why he can’t keep his hands off of Dewayne right now. He is so confused because of what just happened to him last night and now he is doing this.

“I hope that you are happy to see me and you don't have a flashlight in your pocket Jacob.” Dewayne reached around and rubbed his hand on Jacob's hard dick.

“I am so sorry, but you are one gorgeous guy. I bet you that you had all the girls tripping over themselves for you in high school. More so when you took off your shirt and ran around in shorts, you probably had to slap them away with a flyswatter.”

Dewayne turned around and started to kiss Jacob on the lips. He would break the kiss and say a word, kiss him again, and say a word, and kept doing this until he completely said the entire sentence.

“You-are-the-gorgeous-one-here!” Dewayne stopped kissing Jacob and pulled him to his room. “I am so lucky that I got the guy that I fell in love with. You are so beautiful not only in looks, but in your soul and heart.”

They sat down on Dewayne's bed and started to kiss each other again. Jacob started to feel every inch of flesh of Dewayne’s. At no point, Jacob moved his hands down to Dewayne’s package. He didn't want to disrespected Dewayne in any way.

After they finished kissing, Dewayne got up to take a quick shower, dress and comb his hair. As soon as Dewayne was ready, they left the house. Jacob and Dewayne held hands as they headed to Jacob's house. Every now and then, Dewayne would lean over and gave Jacob a peck on the cheek.

As they drove up to Jacob's house, Jacob held Dewayne in the car. “I want to be with you and I want this to work so badly. One thing I never did with Joey is the dating thing. We just jumped into a relationship and never looked back. I don't want you to ever regret the decision of dating me like Joey did. So instead of eating dinner here at the house, I would like to take you out for dinner and a movie.”

Dewayne held Jacob's hand tighter than he ever had before. “I have told you this and I will tell you again. The moment I saw you, I wanted to be with you. I will never regret a second we spend together. Joey was wrong for ever leaving you! I don't care what happens in the future as long as you are at my side.”

They let go of each other’s hand and hugged. Jacob fought back the tears that want to come out. This time the tears are not of hurt or sadness. They are tears of joy and happiness that Dewayne brings out of him.

Jacob and Dewayne headed upstairs the minute they walked in the house for Jacob to get ready. Just like Dewayne earlier, Jacob quickly took a shower, got ready and rejoined Dewayne in the bedroom.

“Why don't we go to the mall where I can spoil you a little?” Jacob spoke looking into the mirror back at Dewayne.

Dewayne shuffled a little bit on the bed before answering. “I just want to be with you Jacob and nothing else. I don't need you to buy me anything.”

“I know, but I want to do. The body that you have you should show it off a little. If I had that body, I would show it off. I want to make the girls go gaga over you and the guys want to kill you because they are afraid that you’re going to steal their girls away from them.”

Dewayne started to laugh as he got up. He walked over to Jacob the wrapped his arms around him. Placing his head on Jacob's shoulder, they both looked at each other through the mirror on the dresser.

“I love when you talk like you do about the way I look. I have never had anybody in my life that has given me compliments like that. You're making me fall so madly in love with you; I can’t stand being away from you Jacob.”

Dewayne leaned in and kissed Jacob on the neck. He reached down and cupped Jacob's package which caused him to get hard instantly. Dewayne looked up to the mirror and smiled at Jacob.

“I want to see this one day and I will be patient.” Dewayne squeezed Jacob's package a couple times as he spoke.

Just as Jacob turned around, Dewayne lifted him up and placed him on the dresser. Jacob reached down with his hands and grabbed a hold of Dewayne head. He leaned down and started to kiss Dewayne on the lips.

Dewayne wrapped his arms around Jacob, and pulled him off the dresser. As Dewayne carried him over to the bed, Jacob wrapped his legs around Dewayne's waist. Gently Dewayne put Jacob down on the bed with out breaking the kiss.

Once Dewayne did break the kiss, he started to tickle Jacob all over his body. Jacob started laughing and flopping around on his bed as Dewayne continued to tickle him. Jacob started to laugh so hard, he started to tear up.

Jacob tried to speak as Dewayne tickled him. “Please stop, you're going to make me pee in my pants if you don’t stop!”

Dewayne finally let Jacob up from the bed from his assault of tickling him. Jacob laid there on the bed catching his breath. He finally caught his breath as he pulled Dewayne down and started to tickle him, but Dewayne isn't ticklish.

Finally Jacob realized he isn't going to get Dewayne to laugh, he stopped trying. They both got off the bed and adjusted themselves before heading out. On top of having their clothes out of place, they both have noticeable hard ons.

As soon as they got downstairs, the others knew something went on between those two up in Jacob's room. Jacob grabbed his coat and walked out the door with Dewayne. They jumped in the car and headed off to the mall.

At first, they just walked from store to store. Finally when they walked into the Old Navy store, several pieces of clothing caught Dewayne’s eye. He tried to hide it, but Jacob caught it. Jacob quickly pulled several pieces of clothing off the shelves and told Dewayne to go and try them on.

“Jacob please, I just want to be with you. You don't have to buy me anything when we go out together. As I said before, being with you is enough for me.”

“I know, but please let me do this for you. You didn't ask me and I'm offering. I love this body and how it fills out the clothes you wear. Plus I get to see you in your underwear if you allow me to go back there with you.” Jacob squeezed Dewayne's butt as he started walking away.

Jacob waited up front while Dewayne went to try on the clothes. He didn't even notice when Dewayne walked up behind him. He wrapped his arms around Jacob and turned him around. Right there in front of the store, he kissed Jacob on the lips. Jacob for the first time didn't care who is watching as he kissed back.

“So, do the clothes fit you?” Jacob asked as Dewayne held him.

“Yes, but I was sad not to find you not back there with me. I thought you wanted to see me in my underwear. Trust me when I say that I am wearing a clean pair today.” Dewayne laughed as he kissed Jacob one more time on the lips before heading over to the cash register to pay for the clothes.

As soon as he finished paying, he met Dewayne outside of the store. They continued walking around in and out of different stores. In a couple of the stores, Jacob was able to buy some more stuff for Dewayne. Really nothing that expensive, because Dewayne wouldn’t allow Jacob to spend a lot of money on him!

They got a quick bite to eat at the food court before heading to the theater. They chose a comedy movie they both liked. As they walked to the register to pay for the drinks and popcorn, Dewayne didn't allow Jacob to pay. Instead, he pushed Jacob out of the way at the cash register and paid for the items.

All through the movie they held hands and kissed several times. Even when several of the other viewers looked over at them with disgust in their face, they kept kissing. At one point one of the couples got up and walked out muttering underneath their breath.

For the first time in Jacob's life he felt free from the constraints he put on himself. Jacob can’t put his finger on it, but something about Dewayne let's him show his true self. He isn't afraid of what people think or even say when they see him with Dewayne.

By the time the movie ended and the boys got to the car it is already a little after eleven o'clock at night. Jacob started the car and pulled out of the park lot onto the driveway that leads into the freeway.

“Since it is already after eleven and by the time we get back to our side of town it will be past twelve. So do you want me to take you straight home that way you don't get in trouble with your parents?”

“I am hoping to stay the night over at your house, if that is okay.” Dewayne talked in a lower voice than normal.

“I would love it if you would stay the night. I just don't want you to get into any trouble with your parents. That way I can spend Christmas and every day of this Christmas vacation with you.”

“My parents decided to go back home for the rest of the holidays. I figure they want even warmer weather than we are getting here. So that means I can spend the rest the holidays with you. That is if you will have me.”

“Of course I want to spend the holidays with you. Are you sure that your parents are not going to call to make sure you are at home.”

“Yes I am sure they will not call, because in the past when they leave for the holidays they don't call. This year should be no different then the past years.”

Jacob took hold of Dewayne's hand as they drove down the freeway. He knows there's something going on in Dewayne's house, but he won’t ask. Dewayne will open up to Jacob when he is ready. Until then, Jacob will be patient and wait on him.

By the time they arrived home, they found the lights off in the house. Dewayne followed Jacob up the stairs to his room. They closed the door and got ready for bed. Tonight Jacob put on a pair of sweatpants instead of sleeping in the nude like he normally does.

The boys talk to each other until they fell asleep. Jacob wrapped his arms around Dewayne. For the first time since Joey left he fell asleep cuddled up with someone that he truly loves.

Still the dreams didn't change with Dewayne at his side. He started to have the same dream that he had the night before. Just as Joey got into his truck, Jacob jumped up sweating and started to cry.

Immediately Dewayne got up and wrapped his arms around Jacob. At first Dewayne just held him tight into his body. He knows what is bothering Jacob and he also knows that he doesn't know what to tell him. He hasn't gone through the kind of heartbreak that Jacob just went through before he met him.

Dewayne started to rub Jacob's chest and slowly lowered him back to the bed. He wrapped his arms around Jacob and pulled him closer to him. Once there was no more space between them, Dewayne wrapped his legs around Jacob's.

Still with not a word spoken between the two, Jacob found comfort in Dewayne's arms. He stopped crying and just clutched onto Dewayne’s hands. Feeling the rhythm of Dewayne's heart against his back, Jacob finally fell asleep again.

This time Jacob slept the rest the night with no more dreams. Neither of the boys woke up until they heard noise in the hallway. Jacob turned to face Dewayne as he stretched. They just looked at each other and didn't say a word.

Jacob leaned in and kissed Dewayne on the lips. “Thank you for last night! After you held me, I got a good night’s sleep. I haven't had a good night sleep in a very long time. Thank you…………”

Dewayne placed his finger over Jacob’s lips. He took his finger away and replaced it with his lips. They kissed until they heard a knock on the door. Jacob broke the kiss and turned to the door to see who it is and what they want.

Instead of talking through the door, Chase walked in. “Oops, I am sorry! I didn't know that you have somebody in here with you Jacob. Sorry Dewayne and Jacob for just barging in here like this.”

“No problem, what can I do you for this morning Chase?” Jacob asked as he crawled out of bed.

Chase just looked at him and knew that nothing happened between Jacob and Dewayne. Jacob is in his sweatpants and it is common knowledge in the house that Jacob and Joey slept in the nude. So with Jacob and sweats, gives that completely away.

“Franseca sent me up here because she is getting worried about you. She is keeping breakfast warm for you and I will go down there to let her know to set another plate. That is if Dewayne is going to stay for breakfast.”

“Of course Dewayne is going to stay for breakfast, lunch and dinner.”

Chase just looked at Jacob as he walked to his bathroom. He turned and walked out of Jacob's room shutting the door behind him. Dewayne walked into the bathroom as Jacob stepped into the shower.

“I am wondering if I can take a shower with you. That way we can get ready quicker and head down together.”

Jacob smiled at Dewayne as he nodded his head. Dewayne quickly stripped and got in the shower with Jacob. The boys stood underneath the shower head just looking at each other. This is the first time they see each without any clothes on.

Dewayne traced up and down Jacob scars on his chest and stomach. He got closer to Jacob and picked up where they left off at. Underneath the shower head the two boys stood kissing each other. Pressing their naked bodies against one another with their hard dicks leaking cum as fast as the shower sprayed water on them!

Jacob turned Dewayne around and started to wash his back, butt and legs. He then turned Dewayne back around and washed his chest, stomach and legs. He skipped over Dewayne's dick and left it to the end.

Jacob kneeled in front of Dewayne and gently with a washcloth started to clean Dewayne's dick. He lifted Dewayne's dick and cleaned his balls. Jacob turned Dewayne back around and completely cleaned Dewayne’s butt.

Dewayne pulled Jacob up from the shower floor and returned the same treatment. He started with Jacob's chest, his stomach and then his legs. He turned Jacob around and cleaned his back and the back of the legs.

Taking another washcloth, rubbing some soap in it. Dewayne spread Jacob's butt cheeks and washed his butt. He then turned Jacob around and washed his dick and balls. At the same time Jacob poured shampoo into his hands and started washing Dewayne's hair.

After the boys washed each others hair they got out of the shower. They dried each other off before heading to the room butt naked.

Jacob pulled out clothes from the closet as Dewayne pulled out a pair of his new clothes that Jacob bought him yesterday. They got dressed and headed downstairs to eat breakfast. Neither Jacob nor Dewayne could take their eyes off of each other as they headed out of the room to the kitchen.

As they ate, they started making plans about what to do. One thing they need to do before anything else is to go to Dewayne's house so he can get some clean underwear and socks. He doesn't want to keep borrowing underwear and socks from Jacob.

Just as they finished breakfast, the doorbell rang. Jacob walked over to the front door to only find Toni's foster mother and a couple other people at his front door. Jacob invited them in and escorted them to the study.

As Jacob walked into the study with Toni's foster mother, Dewayne went down and got Toni for Jacob. No one said a word until Toni joined them. Jacob asked Dewayne to stay with him as a witness.

“I have been polite and courteous with you Jacob. It has been several days since you came down to my house at one in the morning and dragged Toni out. It is time for Toni to come home and you to stay out of my business.

I have talked to Toni’s guardian ad-litem and my attorney. They both say that I have the right to forcefully remove Toni from this house if you he chooses not to go on his own free will. I hope that neither of you would make me do this.”

“Let me tell you this ma’am, Toni isn't going home with you. The night I picked up Toni from your house, I took pictures of every bruise on his body. Furthermore, my grandfather took him to the hospital the following day and had a doctor look him over. They found several other bruises and broken bones that were not treated.”

“When you pulled him out of my house that morning, he was fine. There was not a bruise on him or a broken bone. If he has any bruises or broken bones on his body, they were caused by you or someone in this house.”

“Come on; don't tell me you are going to play this game. I'm not stupid and the minute I got him here I called the police. They came down and took statements and their own pictures of Toni. They are the ones that directed us to go to the hospital.

You can’t lie your way out of this. The old bruises and broken bones you can’t explain away. Then the top all that off, you can’t lie and say that the beating he got was done by me or someone in this house. That is why I called the police because you strike me as the kind of person that would lie to get themselves out of trouble.”

Janet Young didn't say another word. She just sat there looking away from Jacob. Catherine Perkins, Toni's guardian ad-litem, got up and walked over to look at Toni. This is the first time she has seen Toni since she placed him in the group home.

“Mr. Hernandez, do you have the police report number? Normally after you file police report, the officers that responded gives you a file number. If you got that number, I would like to have it please.”

“Yes I have the police report number. Let me write it down and I will write down the number that you can reach the detectives that got assigned this case. They plan to pay a visit to Mrs. Young the next couple days.”

“This is not good at all. I have to pull Toni out of that home and place him into the system during the holidays. There is no way I can find a foster home to take him until after the holidays.”

“After my grandfather took Toni to the hospital, he rushed over to our attorneys. They filed some kind of injunction with a judge that gave him temporary guardianship of Toni until a formal hearing is set in front of a judge.

So you do not have to worry of about finding a placement for Toni. After the holidays, my grandfather will go in front of a judge and ask for guardianship of Toni. That way Toni doesn't land up in another foster home like the one you placed him in.”

Mrs. Young, her attorney and Mrs. Perkins got up and walked towards the door. Jacob handed a copy of the injunction in the police report number to Mrs. Perkins as he walked them to the front door.

“I really hope Mrs. Perkins you look into that foster home. We are able the save Toni, but how about the rest the kids in there. I'm not about to tell you on how to do your job, but something needs to be done about that home.”

“Don't worry Mr. Hernandez; I plan to launch a full investigation into this matter. I plan to speak not only with the current kids that are placed with her, but the kids that have already left her home. We can’t have foster homes that are hurting the kids that are being placed in them. They have already gone through a lot in their lives.”

Mrs. Perkins thanked Jacob and left. As soon as Jacob closed the front door, he went looking for Dewayne. He found him with the others watching TV. When Dewayne noticed Jacob at the door, he patted the cushion next to him. Jacob walked in and joined Dewayne on the couch.

Jacob leaned into Dewayne and couldn't help but think how lucky he got on finding this guy. He now feels safe once again and that is because of Dewayne. He doesn't want to rush anything with Dewayne. Jacob wants to get to know him, before they rush into having sex with each other.

WRITER’S CORNER:

{What a very interesting chapter. A lot is going on in the life of Jacob and we have ringside seats. Jacob is barely holding on and I really hope that Dewayne and Jacob's grandfather are enough to get him through this.

Jacob is going through what many of us have gone through. Many of us have gone through our first breakup and know how hard it is to get over that. We all try to put on a nice strong front, but deep down inside, we are hurting and we don't want anyone to see us hurting. That is where Jacob is right now. He wants to move on, but at the same time he needs to find his way past the hurt he is feeling right now.

Dewayne, I really believe, is the right medicine for Jacob. Don't get me wrong. His grandfather is helping him along as well, but there are things we do not discuss with our parents and grandparents. That’s where Dewayne fits into this picture.

We saw again in this chapter Dewayne isn't together with Jacob for the money. He didn't want Jacob to buy him anything, but finally agreed to letting Jacob by him a couple items of clothing. We also saw Dewayne nudge Jacob aside so he could pay for the concessions. Dewayne is in this relationship for his love of Jacob and nothing else.

I gave you a hint in the last chapter on what I was going to do with Toni's plot. We saw at the beginning of the chapter what was happening to Toni and what his foster parent wanted to do at the end of the chapter. This plot is still far from being over. Things can go completely wrong for Toni or they could go completely right. Only in the future chapters we will get the answer to this plot.

Finally, in this chapter we see David and Tom together. I know we went five chapters without a sex scene. I felt it was not right to put in a sex scene while Jacob was putting the pieces of his life back together. Don't get me wrong, David and Tom did have sex during that time. I just didn't write about it.

I have said this many of times in all of my stories and I'm going to say it again. Do not get used to things running smoothly. Everything right now is going good for David and Tom, but there is always something around the corner. We don’t know what the future has in store for us.

Since the kids are out on Christmas vacation, I talked a little bit more about McDonald's. I got several e-mails from around the world telling me about buying out McDonald’s franchises. To those readers: I know the procedures, I just didn't write them into the story because I felt it might bore the readers.

So in this chapter I touched base on every thing that a new franchise owner has to go through when they take over a franchise. Trust me when I say that McDonald's makes you go through a lot of training when you buy out or become an owner of a franchise.

In this story there are so many open plots I didn't get to in this chapter. We still have Andy and what is going to happen in his life. We have Gloria and Andy Sr. sitting out there not knowing exactly and on what is going on. We still have the ROTC plots and characters going on and a lot, lot more. I haven't forgotten any of these plots; I just don't have enough space in each chapter to write about them.

As always I can go on and on about the open plots in the story! If I do that, I can actually write several more chapters. There are so many plots that can take a turn at anytime. You might think it is going to go one way, but is lands up going another. Do not miss out on anything, or you will be kicking yourself for it.

EDITOR’S CORNER:

First breakup….hmmmm….I sure remember mine. The one thing about me was that I couldn’t hide the hurt. It took me literally two weeks to get to where I could be out of the house around people without breaking down. My “Joey” left me after six years, without a word. I just came home and found his stuff gone. No note; nothing. All things happen for a reason, I guess. I found out much (years) later that he had been being unfaithful to our relationship and not just with a guy here and there. Ultimately, I heard he contracted HIV and I’ve not heard past that. We were together in the pre-AIDS days (now you get an idea of just how much an olde phardt I am!) so I was never at risk with him. So, enough about my sordid past!

Jake is strong, and with Dewayne and Grandpa Al there, he will come through it. It just takes time. Loving caring friends and family sure do help. Jacob is lucky to have found someone as solid and loving as Dewayne in such a short time after Joey’s leaving. He’s also fortunate to have a lot going on in his life to keep him busy; things that he can’t avoid doing even if he wants to lie around sulking. I’m wondering if Jacob needs a bit of professional help to get over the hump.

The personnel files coming to the home office is a must. It was totally bad form for those files to be in the individual stores in the first place; a further testament to the former owners’ incompetence. Once an employee is hired, all paperwork should be handled and employee files created by an HR expert. Grandpa Al and Jacob would be well advised to have an HR person on retainer as they do their lawyers. There’s too much risk for them to not take such a relatively inexpensive step. HR professionals aren’t nearly as expensive as a good lawyer or CPA……or a law suit!

Ok, let’s start a pool; Toni; when will he become a resident at Jacob’s house?

Still water runs deep….I wondering what all is going on behind what we see and know with Dewayne and his family. I just get some really strange feelings about things, yet I haven’t a clue. Yes, I got that his family is less than thrilled with his sexual reality, but I can’t quite figure out the dynamics. Ok, Jacob, I’ll be patient….
