Lux's Indulgences - 3. Floating
I've decided to air out a few things I wrote in high school and my early undergrad days. Some of it dark, some of it not so much. This first one is something a bit more lyrical, from undergrad. I am not sure exactly what inspired this piece. Maybe this was something to do with Boyfriend Attempt No. 2... Ugh, now that is six months I regret. Maybe someday I'll have a band and this will become a song. Who knows?
Lost in the waves
Waiting for you to
Realize, baby
No, I can't speak
No, I can't whisper
You wouldn't hear me
Our reality dissolves into detachment
My aching mind now so numb
To the thunderstorm outside
Please stop raining down on me, baby
Please stop flooding my desert island
Let the sun shine down for once
I don't think you ever really knew me
Well, maybe I never knew you
But I can't change the past
You've gone away, pretending
But you keep coming back
Confusing the hell out of me
So what is it, baby
Left, right or center
Can you love me?
Maybe tomorrow.
Maybe tomorrow, baby.
I'm home.
