Lux's Indulgences - 5. Winter

Something from my first year of undergraduate studies, a tumultuous time of highs and lows as my entire life changed.

vision swept across

the starry sky

after so long

tearing in the chilling

wind of winter

life burns with the

intensity of ages

yet only

a lacerated

pale form of truth

remains

come, freezing skin

pierced by heat of winter

snow underfoot

silent as she runs

now, faster, away

dark clouds, mortality

a chaotic grace

fleeing the deep of winter

unleash her dire anguish

flakes lashing flesh

a last blizzard of

desperation

stumbling, driven back

hope fleeting in that

soft explosion

an eruption of white

a depth that burns

cold

relentless

forward, press on

hidden in the snow lies

water yet dreaming

yearning for distant

sunrise

torn flesh

petals seeping out

infinite potential in

finite manifestation

warm blood welling

swelling, steeping

the rose which

sleeps through winter

awakens

a touch of eos

stretching unto

helios' smile

selene parts with endymion

in boreas'

temerous

wake

aeolus returns

persephone

to demeter's

caring hand

You paint quite a journey here... vivid last gasp of winter before spring erupts... dramatic... good work... cheers... Gary

Thanks Gary. It was something that took on various forms over a semester - and almost all quite dark. It finally settled into this one soon after I started dating my first boyfriend. I guess you could say a part of my own life was newly blossoming in many ways.
