Lux's Indulgences - 21. Désespoir

Overwhelming anxiety

I'm shaking, terrified and hurting

But unable to tear away my gaze.

When lies win the hearts of the masses

And megalomania rules the day

What is there left to do but

Cry out injustice?

But does my pain, my sympathy

Do any good at all?

Does it do any good for the fleeing

The homeless

The wounded

The dead?

There has to be something more I can do.
