I am hooked on Morgan, and McNally. Scribe's passing was a big loss. I pestered and prodded Morgan, and finally (!) he replied, and in essence told me the muse had left him. I wish he would reconsider and finish 52 Panhead. I love the way McNally writes. Like you I hope he continues when LOTR 5 Years On is done. I really enjoyed Summer, didn't particularly like the ending, but am hopeful you will redeem yourself with Autumn.

I always feared Morgan had died leaving the story unfinished. I'm glad that's not the case. If he can't do it, maybe he could allow another author to pick it up. McNally would be a possibility.

Sorry you disliked the ending to Summer. I could write a long boring dissertation, justifying it and myself, but what it comes down to is how you felt about it. I honestly appreciate you sharing your opinion and I'll respect it and accept it.

The first draft of Autumn was written before Summer even began posting. It's gone through some massive revisions and I think it's a better written tale. It will answer all those question within a few chapters. New characters and new situations will keep the story fresh.

Following the advice of one of GA's most popular authors, I've tried to ensure each chapter advances the plot and there are no 'filler' ones rehashing the same thing over and over.

I look forward to hearing what you you think starting next week.

Of the four authors you've paid homage to as being a great influence, I have only read Jack Scribes Las Vegas Trilogy.

It was one of the first stories I read upon finding GA. I loved Drew and Bob as a couple and as 'parents' to teenage throwaway Cray. They were young but stand up guys who knew right from wrong and instilled those values in Cray as they guided him and provided him with love and acceptance of who he is and was meant to be.

I do see a parallel between your characters in Summer to the ones in LVT albeit individuals wth their own personas and not remotely carbon copies.

Like the protagonists in LVT, your characters are people I would be happy to meet any time and become friends with.

Lastly, I'm going to have to chastise you a bit. When I got the notification that Autumn was released, I got very excited thinking you were giving your faithful fans a break and starting Book 2 a week early. While I am still disappointed we have to wait (and I have to get up early on a holiday), I really liked that you paid tribute to the authors who have inspired you.

Thank you, thank you, thank you. That comparison of my characters to Jack's is a huge compliment! The way those guys raised 'their' kid was in my mind when I created CJ, Brett, and Cesar.

'52 Panhead can be found here on GA also. Mead and McNally have their stories on CRVBoy. If you liked Scribe and enjoyed Summer, you'll like those other too.

I stand chastised. In my defense: I didn't want the dedication to get lost in the reaction to the story itself, most people would have reviewed Chapter 1 and ignored the Prologue. Plus I admit to a certain level of marketing being involved. After a 6 week hiatus there's some trepidation about standing out amid the clutter.

I shall strive to make up for it by writing the best story I can.

It will be interesting to see CJ's reaction to "last rites" for his uncle Tom. An interesting turn of events, Tom is going to be okay ( ), CJ is getting to his usual self and things come slowly to their place.

Yeah, Tom scared the crap out of a few people but he will survive. His parents, and their priest, however, may be in for a surprise or two during their visit. They have to deal with CJ next!
