Drew's Poetry Prompts - 7. Poetry Prompt 5 Rhymes and Couplets

Poetry Prompt 5
At Twenty One

I thought I felt old at eighteen,
Adult world, newly seen.
Three years on, a lifetime ahead,
Here at this watershed.

Alas, I was but a child then,
Joining this club of men.
And still, I feel I don’t belong,
But, I’ll continue on,

Because at age one and twenty,
I have time aplenty.

Thank you all for your birthday wishes, y'all made my day even more special!

This is a well written poem Drew.  At twenty one I felt like I was on top of the world.  In retrospect I realize that I was still a child at twenty one.  I hit my stride at thirty, so I'm wondering what you will say in your poem for your thirtieth birthday.  ❤️

Thanks Terry! And I wonder that too, we'll see in two years! :P
