Drew's Poetry Prompts - 3. Poetry Prompt 3 Lyrics

A New Christmas Wish

Finally, a man in my bed,
Just in his underwear.
Kissing from my mouth to my neck.
The fun’s just beginning.

Beep, Beep, Beep. It was just a dream?
Damn! No beau for Christmas!
I get out a pen and paper
And I write, Dear Santa.

I hope I followed the prompt by only implying my emotions. smile.png

I hope your Christmas wish comes true next Christmas, Drew

By Christmas next year, I'll be at a university nearby a city. :) So hopefully, my wish will come true, lol.

Thank you for reading Lit!

It's good, Drew! As far as the prompt goes, it asks for a regular rhythm alternating between 8 and 6 syllable lines, and you do that brilliantly. I'm very happy with your efforts.

Thanks for taking the poetry prompt challenge!!! :)

Just hold onto your dream! And keep doing the poetry prompts!

Thanks Puppilull! The next prompt I looked at was Meter, it's so intimidating, but it'll be fun to learn! :)

I plan on doing more prompts and I might even post a separate story for poems that don't follow any particular prompt :)

Thanks Mama! I'm sure Santa will listen to a charming lady such as yourself.

That was great, Drew! Made me laugh -- Dear Santa... that was a funny touch. :P

Seriously though, maybe for Valentine's Day cupid will bring you a man only in his undies...lying in your bed...

Huh, I never thought about the ending as innocent. Thank you for the insight Aviana! Looking at it like that, makes me realize it is a wonderful juxtaposition to the not so innocent dream.

What a fun poem that had me laughing.  When I was old enough to have those dreams, I had stopped writing Santa years before.  Did the letter work for you?

Thanks Terry! Nope, it didn't work. I was probably placed on The Naughty List that year, by mistake obviously. :P
