Congrats to all our Brit friends out there. Not only did you get the Olympics in 2012, you beat out the French to do it!

The only advantage had the Olympics been in France would be their cozy relation with Islamic countries ... thus reducing the threat of terrorist attacks. Of course, the socialists would complain that the Olympic torch has to work more than 35 hours/week.

Hmmm, I see a good money making oppourtunity here, I could charge people for my floor space hehehe. And I'm not too sure what my bf would think about that plan of yours Mark, lol. But yay for us, I think it is more the fact that we beat the French to it, lol, especially after they said we have bad food, well, even if we do, we've also go the Olympics, so there :P

There's a joke that goes something like this -

If you go to heaven, the cooks will be French, the police English, the lovers are Italian and it's all organized by the Germans.

However, if you go to hell, the cooks are English, the police French, the lovers are German and it's all organized by the Italians.

I've always wondered why the Irish got left out of that one.

Conner, to add to the joke..and without someone yelling at me for being um less then politically correct...it was probably and Irishman who told that joke over a good beer at the local neighborhood bar..so whether in heaven or hell, the Irish Lad or Lass will be repeating that ditty and making everyone laugh (even in the heat of Hell) and all wondering why the air conditioning system went on the fritz and why is it so hot in the bar....and have another beer....to cool down

as to your offer of us visiting you for the Olympic Gaymes, I mean Games...how cold does it get up there in the Winter? brrrrr...and will there be fireplaces, goose down comforters and other snuggly kind of um..well you know....in between all those sporting events and other activities.

Michael

Yes, we Irish are known for our love of the drink. We enjoy our guinness and a wee shot of whisky now and then. As another joke goes...alcohol is the only thing holding us back from taking over the world.

The Olympic Gaymes...I love that idea. :great: Vancouver weather in the winter is actually quite moderate - not unlike Seattle's weather. Certainly more rain than snow. The sking events will be held in Whistler - a 90 minute drive up the coast - a super ski resort area and home to world sking events. Incredibly beautiful as well.

The winter gaymes here in 2010 will get you all primed for Britain's 2012 summer games. :D
