Weekly Wrap Up (May 25 - May 31)

There goes another month in the books! Can you believe you all have less than 7 months to get my Christmas Present mailed to me ? Unfortunately there might be another Canada Post strike here, so the sooner you get it in the mail, the better chance it will arrive here. This year ! I also can't believe it is still bright out at 9:40 PM my time. Dusk is like at 10:30 PM   What all did you get up to this past month, the sort of, kind of, transition month, from spring to summer? I managed t

Choices

We’re confronted with choices throughout our entire life. Some are important and others are mundane, at least at first. Which line should you choose at the supermarket checkout? Blue or pink shirt? Tie or no tie? Which character to kill in your own story or in a video game? Apply for this job or that? Food, friends, the list is indefinite. I want to explore how people make choices. PT #283   Someone applies for their dream job. What to wear? Are clothes even important?

Decisions, Decisions

I have a really awesome blog post in the works for next week, but in keeping with our upcoming Secret Author contest, my lips are sealed   You'll have to tune in next week to see what it is.  In the meantime, here are the guidelines for the SA contest and the annual anthology.  Which one will you participate in?  Don't answer that... letting us know you are writing a story for the SA contest will get you disqualified so   You can tell us if you are writing for the Creature Feature anthology, tho

May CSR Discussion Day: The Answer by Wayne Gray

I hope you were able to take the chance to read the 5k short story, The Answer, that  Wayne wrote back in 2020. The best part of the CSR (Can't Stop Reading) blog features is that I get to pick newer and older stories on the site to bring to readers who either loved the story the first time and are happy to read it again or newer members who might have missed some of the older works. Things are always changing so fast, just like people, but we love to keep these stories alive! Please make sure t

This is the End... Revisited! The Story

Two weeks ago, I asked prompt blog readers to create a story starting at the end and working to the beginning.  @Bill W got us off to an interesting start - uh, end? Followed by @ReaderPaul and myself.  I took some liberties with the order and added in the beginning of the story.  I hope you enjoy the result!  Thank you to Bill and ReaderPaul for the interesting premise, and without further adieu, here is the final result!

Weekly Wrap Up (May 18 - May 24)

I was thinking how it is funny how things have changed over the years here at GA. A certain author I know found a movie called Riley and she may have a story called Ridley and she was wondering if maybe someone took her story and made a screenplay out of it, and made the movie for profit . So being the dedicated friend that I am, I rented the movie to see the similarities. Just an FYI, this is my opinion only, not to be taken as fact. Three similarities: Both the movie and her story
