Dom, I hope you feel better soon:)

TOU has 2 more chapters to go:) well, at least its 2 more chapters (I figured one) so I can do the Snoopy Happy Dance....since 2 more chapters means twice the excitement! I will miss the story when it ends. Its my favorite:)

Thanks for the amazing story and I do hope you feel better and the pumpkins look scarey and were a lot of fun to carve (and the sisters had fun and didn't drive you crazy...not that mine wouldn't...oh yeah, right...LOL...Italian Princesses for sisters...Lucky me....(even I am doing the eye roll thing) I bet yours are a also Italian Princesses..but I do love mine since they are my Italian Princesses (they have their own unique brand of Gay Drama in the form of straight Italian sisters and I am sure yours do too!)

Get well soon and I hope you did have fun with the sisters and the pumpkins:)

Dom, even though TOU is my favorite...it is time...our Quinn has come out to himself...and to his sister and friends....the hard part will be his Mom, if that happens (for some parents are the last to know..but it seems they knew anyway...at least my Dad did) so I agree, time to give TOU a good flourish, drum roll please and let the chips fall where they may.....Quinn has come miles and will have miles to go in the journey of life...just like the Ordinary Us, along with the rest of we Ordinary yet unique in our own ways US...

I hope the pink eye is gone and the pumpkins are looking scarey and Halloween scarey fun:)

:2hands: Think of it this way everyone:

If Dom doesn't finish TOU now, Mikey might just tap his way through the Earth and end up in somewhere strange and wonderful.

Like Belgium.

:lmao: That and I am absolutely dying of the tension - and my flatmates ask why I'm so uptight these days :) !

*gets out the pink poufy pom-pom thingies*

Now, now James,

Got something against us Belgians?

I know it is a strange country for outsiders, hell it even sometimes is for us Belgians but compared to some countries, it is a paradise.

So you wanna know how I burnd a hole in my counter? Well I had gotten this huge pumkin from school that I grew. (I go to school on a farm in a city with 3million people.) Anyways I had scraped all the shit outta the punkin and i thought it would look awesome to have this huge ass flame coming out of it. Well some of my friends were over and they decided to soak my pumkin in lighter fluid. Then I put lighter fluid in the bottom to get a kinda sorta large flame. Did u all know that lighter fluid is extremely flamable? Anyway I had a match and I threw it in there and the next thing I no it looks like this huge fire ball!! By the time I got the fire estinguisher and put it out there was a huge ass hole in the counter. Moral of the story: DONT MIX LIGHTER FLUID, BORED TEENS, MATCHES AND A PUMKIN!!!!!

When a person reads almost anything of any size, and gets a lot of pleasure out of it, there's this sort of dreead as the climax nears -- the story's going to be over.

When these stories end, it can feel like you've suddenly lost touch with good friends whom you were used to being with all the time. You can be glad that they are living happily ever after or whatever, but you still miss them. I certainly felt that with TLW, and with TOU I feel sort of that way even during long pauses between chapters.

At this point, I can't imagine feeling like that about the characters in DD. But who knows. It took me a few chapters of TOU before I started caring what happened to everybody. Quinn still annoys me, but now it's more like my good friends who annoy me.

Did you ever notice there are before people and after people? Before people get their tree a month before Christmas and carve their pumpkin a couple of weeks before, then clean up on the day after the holiday. After people wait until the day before or so and then let the decorations stay for a while. We're after people. It's more relaxed that way, though the stuff sticks around for about the same time.

With Christmas, the "after" variety is more traditional. The "before" variety is more the commercial aspect, and gets earlier and earlier. Christmas decorations have been in stores since September, maybe August in some places. How tedious.

The religious side of Christmas got lost in the shuffle long ago, and a lot of churches just go along with some variant of the commercial calendar and do mostly a "before" version.

Even the secular side of the celebration used to follow the Christian calendar, as in "The Twelve Days of Christmas."

It seems a bit weird to me to drag Halloween out over weeks in either direction. It's the "eve" of something, but then so is Mardi Gras.

Pumpkins are nice, though, and make good and appropriate decorations through the harvest season. You can be an "after" person with Halloween and a "before" person with Thanksgiving at the same time.

Dom, don't give in to any whinging: end the stories the way you know they have to be ended, and remind them that there's such a thin as other stories.

Pls do not be mistaken that i am whining. This word really do me alot of injustice and it's sort of offensive. I am a diehard fan of Dom. And if you would read carefully what i had written in the earlier post, i mentioned that i hope Dom can give a wonderful ending to TOU and i was only trying to share with him the strong feelings and affection i have developed for the story ever since it came out. I never did it with the basis of wanting Dom to change his ideas of HOW or WHEN he should end the story. I love his writings so much that i hope it will be just as perfect as TLW. The words you said somehow twisted my actual meaning and i feel there's a need for me to clarify.

your last last part of the sentence prompted me to go look for "OTHER STORIES" instead. THIS, i find it intolerable.

ON WHAT basis do YOU have the rights to ask me go read other stories? why are you chasing Dom's fans away? Don't tell me we can't even express our own true feelings for Dom? i feel that what you did here is so wrong.

and u knoe what?? i hate whinings myself..

Hey Tarantio, Welcome to Gay Authors and quit your whinging! :P

I wouldn't take such offense with Lucy's post. There is quite a bit of whinging going around here in Dom's blog, the Domaholics forum, and Dom's yahoo group. Her post was more likely pointed at all the collective whinging to Dom as opposed to just your post.

I am a diehard fan of Dom.

A true diehard fan would refer to themself as a Domaholic :P

I expect to see your butt posting in the forum soon. Your status says newbie but you talk like a veteran Domaholic...obsessed in your love of Dom's writing, a little bitchy, ready to go after someone who might be coming between you and Dom's stories, and you have a little bit of a temper...Perfect!!!! :2thumbs:

I'm very sorry I didn't express myself clearly -- in this case I meant that, when Dom finishes one story, he can write another. And he can't write new stories if he doesn't finish old ones.

-- I'm also sorry about the use of the word "whining" -- it's a word that some other people here have used for themselves, when they're impatient waiting or worried about ending.

No intention whatever in chasing anybody away or ordering them around: my sole intention was to support the writing of stories the way the stories want to be written.

My goodness Mutt, that sounds awfully dangerous. Please be careful! lol I know I'm a "young old man", but I think if you were my son, I'd first hug you so hard you start to sufficate, then give you the longest lecture on earth about safety, then freak out about the hole in the counter, then apologize for freaking out, then repeat the whole process 5 or 6 times with a gradual lessening of intensity. LOL but then I am cronically uptight, and virtually devoid of a "wild streak".

As far as the end of TOU goes, I'm not happy to have to say goodbye to Quinn, Jude and the rest either, but as long as they get their "happily ever after" I think I"ll be ok. Besides we can always revisit them anytime we want. Actually TOU was the first story I ever read on this forum, so it holds and even more special spot in my affections. But it will be good to read more DD (actually I think I need to reread the whole thing before we get anymore new chapters), and of course TLW sequal is pretty exciting too. Anyway best of luck and warmest wishes to all. (warmest, but not actually flamming pumpkin hot :P )

No probs James.

It is a strange country and for your information, we started debating about adoption for gay couples.

Our highest court (supreme court it is called in the US i believe) has voted in favor of this, but now it is up to the politicians.

Although they are now searching for means to raise the taxes without suspicion, after all they want to be re-elected in 2007.

They came up with the increddible idea of raising taxes on the interests we make on our savings.

appearantly Belgians have one off the biggest savings accounts, but as with everything, the 80-20 rule applies.

So the topic of adoptionrights for gay couples isn't high on their list.

Huggs,

Peter

P.S Can you do a split? This is a requirement for cheerleaders i believe :P

In large parets of the US, which is hardly the most progressive country in the world, gay couples, who have few rights otherwise, can certainly adopt children. (California, for one, which is all by itself a large part of the US!) So I wouldn't dismiss the chances of Belgian couples getting it sometime soon.

But I have certainly noticed one thing -- it's always a surprise. A place will have a bunch of progressive and a bunch of backwards features all mixed together with no seeming logic at all. Individual people are like that too.

I'm next door to Belgium in The Netherlands, and gay couples can adopt here. Actually I was surprised to hear that they can't in Belgium.

In NL, gay people can do pretty much the same as straight people. It's that sort of country :-)

Please stop making me hate my government, my friends will have you believe that I do enough of that already (I custom made a window sticker for my car read Write-In 04, like a Bush/Cheney 04 sticker, in silent protest of the horrible candidacy of the 2004 elections)
