They're anticipating that hurricane Ike will make a direct hit on Houston and I likely will lose power for awhile. The last time I was in a major hurricane (Katrina, back when I lived in Baton Rouge), I didn't have electricity for a week. So I'll be fine, but I probably won't be around. In the meantime feel free to leave comments! They'll make me happy when I get back, lol Take care and be safe all! -Kevin

I read somewhere else that the there are places in the Dallas-Fort Worth area also without power and will be for at least a couple of days.

Heard today that power would start getting turned back on to major areas of Houston in the next day or two. Hopefully Kevin is doing okay
Tiger Posted September 20, 2008 Posted September 20, 2008 I hope he's okay too. I have heard from my friend, Teddy. She says it's awful down there. There is no electricity, and I suspect that cell phone service is spotty at best, nonexistent at worst. I don't know about everyone else, but I'm starting to miss Kevin. GA isn't the same without him.

His business just got back up and running and the phones are still spotty. He said he, along with half the people he works with, still have no power at home. He said 700,000 residents in the Houston area are still without power.
Tiger Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 Sharon, my friend from Houston just called me. They are still with power. Luckily, they have a generator, but there are still so many without it, and Houston is hot and humid this time of year. They must be miserable. I hope Kevin is okay.
