After all, they're not even proper guests, they're... parasitic lodgers.

Tell me about it, my ex in laws wanted to bring their dog to our house when they stayed over & wanted me to lock my cats up or sling them out. No chance. It's their home, + you know how cats are marking territory. They would have been peeing everywhere, not a nice prospect.
