enjoying the story as it unfolds. Missing the previous format.

Just a thought about the the "breaking condom" in ch71 - wouldn't Brad and/or Robbie have thought to suggest the "morning after" pill, or slightly more dramatically, a D&C? I know they both come with all sorts of side effects etc, but seems at one or both should have done a little more instead of "she needs your support ". I understand that the story is not the place for a debate on the subject, but Brad and Robbie's response just seems so lame.....

That's a good issue to raise. I think there's a disconnect here as well, since Ella is essentially under Wally and Clara's care, but you're right, they could have said something. Then again, they're gay guys, so how up on birth control would they be? :D

I hate to say this but even after 75 chapters I will be very sad  that it is coming to an end. This has been the best book ever. Some of the best action in the whole saga. Who can forget Brad attacking Robbie's car, the Diamond cuff links, Alex and Brad, Elizabeth set free, and so many more things. I can't thank Mark enough for this story. Like in the Box we got to know Steven (Stef's father) we got to know Brad's father both of which are honorable men. We got a stronger better and more united Brad and Robbie. The Hayes family returned to center stage with Gathan, Zack, and Ella. Blow ups between Brad and JP and Stef and JP and also a heart to hearts. We got Father Tim. The ending of this is really sad. All good things must come to the end. Why? I was just in Santa Cruz earlier today I was wondering where Billy had his car accident. Every time I go out there I wonder if I could meet these guys That is how real they seem. That's how good it is. Maybe not perfect but close. That's why you have so many groupies ( people who check every day for the new chapter. ) Thanks Again and I want you to know how much I love this saga and these characters.Nothing is better. Nothing.

What nice things to say! Made me so happy I posted Chapter 72!Posted Image

I guess I am confused on several levels.

Certainly Triton's executives would have signed a non-compete agreement, so Elliott wouldn't be able to work with them and any work he did do with them before this or any collusion would certainly have been illegal. Even in cases where companies work together on some projects and compete on others they construct 'Chinese walls' to prevent flows of information between the groups. It is also a shareholder lawsuit waiting to happen if Elliott did anything that harmed shareholder value.

The other thing I am confused on is Robbie and the Academy Awards night. He should have been ecstatic. His production company had a great award season. They had five Academy nominations and a major win and Soderbergh did win for Director, albeit for Traffic, it would still reflect well on Robbie's company. Besides the Academy they had wins and nominations from SAG, DGA, PGA, BAFTA and Golden Globes. Most production companies would kill for a year like that and a $250m+ movie, they only do three, maybe four tops and they are happy if they don't lose money, but good production companies seldom do because they wisely use Other People's Money to finance projects. The only danger in flops is that too many and projects dry up, but when you have a Julia Roberts and Steven Soderbergh the projects and money find you.

As a Board Member, Elliott would certainly have obligations involving confidential information, but it's unlikely that he'd have a non-compete. In any event, they're not playing fair.

I think you're confused about which Academy Awards show they were at. Erin Brockovich would feature in the Award show in 2001 (for 2000 movies). This was the one in 2000.

Well, chapter 72 was another bridge for me on the way to taking down Omega. I can't wait to see what Elizabeth comes up with to get at Alexandra and Omega by default. I doubt we will truly see the end of Omega but they maybe so crippled that they truly can't ever compete with the big boys again. Even with Elliot's $300,000,000.00 in their coffers I am not sure that is nearly enough to overcome the close to a billion dollars worth of loses in the tech market that is heading their way. The Go Chang deal was $250,000,000.00 and I know at least a couple of the other deals mentioned were nine figure deals then they had tons of eight figure deals. When you are looking at those kinds of losses coming on top of the loss of some key defense contracts, I am not sure that Elliot's money is nearly enough to overcome those losses.

RU-486 while avaliable overseas was not avaliable in the US for abortions until September of 2000, so it wasn't something that really could have been suggested when the condom broke. I agree that with Ella still nomially under Wally and Clara's roof neither Brad/Robbie or Darius should be suggesting anything like that without input from them. Just because the condom broke doesn't mean that she will get pregnate anyway. Why buy trouble before there is anything to worry about?

I still think the story line with Will, John, and Zach will prove very interesting... You know that John must be a heartbreaker because any child of Claire and Jack's would have to be. I wonder if maybe Will and John didn't have a little something something going on and Zach is coming between them in some way???

While the idea of Brad and Robbie losing one of their kids might be a good storyline, it would be hard to take. I still think losing Billy the way he did still haunts Brad to this day. Well, I guess with the 2001 situation coming up Darius or JJ could be on a plane heading west that is hijacked and is one that crashes. I think losing a child is something that a parent really never gets over, not even time can really heal that wound. You learn to deal with it and go on but you never get over it.

I am sure that this is just me, but the sex in this story is so secondary to me. This story is so damn good that it doesn't need the sex to hold anyones interest. I am not saying that sex scenes aren't nice every so often but with a story this good, you just don't really need them...

Tim, this is the Academy Awards where American Beauty won Best Picture and Kevin Spacey won best Actor. Since Robbie turned down funding American Beauty in favor of movies that flopped, it's not a fun deal for him.

The kids have gotten to that age where they start hiding stuff from their parents. I like how Brad and Claire are perplexed by their teenaged children, as parents should be. It's just kinda cool- they were the kids at one point, and now they're the parents of the teenagers. It's like seeing Winona Ryder playing Spock's mother.

In all honestly, the kinky sex made a great gimmick, but it's the characters and the relationships as they deal with the unfolding of American history that keeps me coming back.

I agree with the guys on this one. The sex scenes are hot. (I've never seen a scene with the e-stem before) But its the story itself with all its twists and turns, family relationships, and history that I truly love. Evidently we love our porn WITH plot. I think I said it before many many many comments back, but if you ever decided to go the published route, you would definately have an audience. But then we'd have to pay for it and that would suck!!

.........Just wondering what will happen when Mark's rep hits 1000.....do bells and sirens go off??do we get to pop open champagne??:2thumbs::worship::2thumbs:

I started this story over at Nifty long ago and far away. Each book gets better and it is the characters which bring us back again and again. Brad would be forty-nine this year along with Robbie and JP 75. Who here would not want to meet them. I was on Ca 17 from San Jose to Santa Cruz and it has very sharp turns easy for a car accident. I think because we have got to know the characters for such a long time we feel their pain and also their joy. Brad was born at the beginning of the CAP saga. We have seen him grow up. And now his children are growing up. This is a family story, about people who never thought they would have a family. At the beginning JP didn't. And his family, a collection of rejects turned out better than the average normal family. Sorry for using that word normal because maybe that is what this story is about. What is normal for one person maybe not be normal for the others. Look at Brad yes he is not perfect but knowing what he has gone through he is doing pretty good. He is a son to be proud of. His kids arn't perfect either but pretty good. Mark the sex is good but what really makes this saga great are the character and the storyline. Thanks again for brightening up our lives with Stef, JP Brad, Robbie, Clair, Ace, Matt and Wade and all the rest.

Well things did heat up in Chapter 73. I can't wait for the last two chapters in this story. I think this story has moved up to either number three or four in the CAP series for me. I keep waffling between three and four but will decide for sure after the last two chapters. For me, nothing will ever touch " Chronicles of an Academic Predator " it was the first and for me the best.

I loved when Brad confronted Carson about talking to Will and then Will showed that he was so much like his dad it was scary. Will is such and interesting character for me to watch develop. I still want to know what is going on between Will and John but I sort of bet we don't know until the next story in the series and I will be okay with that...

I can't wait for the final battle, I just know it is gonna be so good...

Mark congragulations about this being the best hosted story on Gay Authors, it is well deserved.

Thanks guys! You're right: Will and John's issue won't be resolved until the next story. Or disclosed until then, anyway.

It looks like Carson has moved ahead of Brian in line to be "dealt with".

Mark, your stories are addicting. Can't wait to see how this saga closes and the next generation takes over.

ch 74:

well now that Mark has explored just about every possible sexual fetish, I wonder how he's going to (ahem) top it...

disturbing to say the least.

thanks Mark. :D

WOW! I hate to say it I am not sad about Brian. Of course that was Alex. As for Carson I hope Brad can live with it. JP does but I am not sure about Brad, The thing I am more sad about only one chapter left. We still don't know what Elizabeth as up to. One more shoe to drop knowing Mark maybe more than one.

You know, if a guy threatened my kid, I could pop him and sleep at night. Just sayin'.

I should say most major fetish lines. Except I am still waiting for that older trans furrier scene :D

I mean, should you had put a dog mask on Alex face before doing her son or have Lark in a dog suit, THAT would of made my universe. :D

Brad is different from JP. In where JP can compartmentalize better than Brad can. He had to do Carson so that his kids could be safe. Long ago he promised to take care of Darius and JJ he would die to do that not mention Will.

So just in case we were wondering if Brian was redeemable, Mark adds in that line about Brian wanting to have sex with a 12-year old. So on top of everything, Brian's also a pedophile. Nice. No wonder he needed to go.
