sandrewn Posted April 4, 2015 Posted April 4, 2015 Whether it is an apple or an orange, it is good to have you back with us ( I personally, am hoping it is an orange).
mmike1969 Posted April 4, 2015 Posted April 4, 2015 Some thoughts: 1. I've been doing a little writing. Expect a new chapter within the week. 2. The forums and boards encourage me, they don't deflate me. 3. I've missed you guys. 1) awesome news! I cant speak for this group but I am going to be giddy when the next chapter posts. 2) does that mean Pvt Tim's inspiration of Tony dying in a tsunami drowning meteor strike plane crash fireball of death is going to happen 3) we miss you more 2
Ozymandias Posted April 5, 2015 Posted April 5, 2015 Great to see that you are able to write again. I have sorely missed the saga of what must be the world's richest dysfunctional family! -Oz
GLH Posted April 6, 2015 Posted April 6, 2015 So happy to see you are back in the saddle again, Mark. It's been a long 57 days, 20 hours and 19 minutes. 2
Daddydavek Posted April 6, 2015 Posted April 6, 2015 So happy to see you are back in the saddle again, Mark. It's been a long 57 days, 20 hours and 19 minutes. Is that another record for Mark? 1
Kitt Posted April 6, 2015 Posted April 6, 2015 If it is, it is one I would prefer he doesn't break! 3
GLH Posted April 7, 2015 Posted April 7, 2015 (edited) Is that another record for Mark? I'm guessing that is a record by some forty-odd days. Offhand I don't recall going more than two weeks between posts, at least since I've been keeping track. Edit: Actually I just checked and Mark more than quintupled the old record. It was 11 days, 33 minutes during 9/11 (Chapters 52-53). This 'hiatus' was 56 days, one hour and 41 minutes. Oh, and I've only been 'counting' since the beginning of 9/11 so any break before then can't be guaged due to the switchover to the current format... Edited April 7, 2015 by GLH 1
GLH Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 I'm guessing that is a record by some forty-odd days. Oh, and I've only been 'counting' since the beginning of 9/11 so any break before then can't be guaged due to the switchover to the current format... And upon further research, I found that since changing to the current format during "Millennium" the 32 day, six minute break between chapters 40 and 41 of "Poor Man's Son" was the previous record. 3
Mark M Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 I started with be-rad in which posts were very random, but often. Last year I'd say he fell into a 4ish day routine with a chapter ready to go. Having that was really nice, at one point it even went back and forth for CAP and The bridgemont series, and now that was fun. but I do hope there's no trophies/awards for long hiatus. Man he should've put a terrible cliffhanger at the end of the last chapter and then said see ya in 56 days! That would've been great to read on the message boards imagin that award for worst cliffhanger. Now don't actually do that or I'll magically create Will and send him to your house to do exactly what he did to brad when he was trying to control him initially. 1
methodwriter85 Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 (edited) If you guys wanna have at it, Mark's Yahoo Group keeps track of when he started uploading the stories to his Yahoo group from CAP through to Paternity, which is usually about when he uploaded them to Gay Authors, give or take a few hours. You won't have the time but you would have the date from 2008 through to 2011. He stopped uploading the files to his Yahoo group in 2012 and just started giving us the links to his GA site instead. Some of the dates are going to be a bit hinky, though, because some chapters were revised. He redid the first five chapters of CAP in 2010, although the chapters were originally posted in August 2008. Here's an interesting factoid- the first 9 stories of CAP were published in a two-year period. Mark covered the years 1962 through to November 1999 in two years. sandrewn Posted April 13, 2015 Posted April 13, 2015 Your 56 day wait has been rewarded with not one but now two chapters (so far). While we, who are imperturbable are at 81 days and counting. Patience is said to be one of the seven heavenly virtues and I feel like we are being tested. Keep the faith my friends. To get back in the mood, I give you the following from 1978 .I think I maybe dating myself again (time & age wise). 1
Mark Arbour Posted April 13, 2015 Author Posted April 13, 2015 I actually have a chapter of Valiant ready to go...or I did. I need to make a few changes. So hang in there. 5
