Ok, I read this weeks chapter finally. I have to say Colt needs to reevaluate his opinion of his own attractiveness. To get someone as hot as Trent (we all know Colt has impeccable taste) to basically seduce him must mean he's not ugly. Ok, so Trent took the coward's way out and blamed Colt, but just because he's not Helen of Troy beautiful and make people ruin their whole existence does not mean he's ugly.

 

Then again, maybe Trent was being influenced somehow? But it would be a bit hard to know him being found with Trent would lead to Colt's 'father' go all weird and Colt having to run away.

Funny I've had it bouncing in my head a lot as I read it about was Trent influenced or was it totally him? Was he being paid like Adam? Was he Shadowed like Prime?

 

I'll have to reread it to really form an idea of which.

 

But when it comes to the 'cowards way out' as you put it we really don't know. We saw a wham bam thank you mam aftermath of events. We know his father accused him and called Colt's 'dad' immediately. It could be that Trent took the 'cowards way' staying in the closet after seeing the insane reaction of his father, he could have just gone with the story his father concocted to rationalize what he saw. Or he could have told it that way... We just know that in the course of a very short time period that he didn't have a chance to talk with Colt again. He could have initially gone with his father's story and then corrected it after he 'calmed down', he could have tried mitigating things and planned to go talk to Colt the next day. Remember Colt didn't keep a cell with him much due to his mother stealing it constantly. Maybe he doesn't have Colt's number? Colt never returned to Texas again until Origins so it would be REALLY hard for him to track him down... He only knows Colt got into a school in Cali after all...

 

If Trent wasn't influenced I highly feel that he wasn't just using Colt and likes him. I also have a feeling that we haven't seen the last of Trent and that he'll pop up NOT in a flashback.

I keep forgetting this story is not set in Sweden. If you want you find someone, it usually quite easy. So yes, Trent could have made a different choice later on. I didn't feel like Trent was using Colt, but so many things have happened in this story that anything could be possible. I'm still upset about the whole Sam Sr thing.

I was hoping that story line could be a bit of warm and fuzzy for Sam, but no. He had to be a traitor! So anything goes in this story. Not even young orphaned wolves are protected from utter heartbreak. So why wouldn't Trent just be using Colt?

Is he even really still Sam Sr.... I mean he is the uncle not the father.. Sure its the way to distinguish him and changing the reference to Uncle Sam is a bit of a slap at the USA.  Is his name even really Sam or did he 'assume' that name after the battle?

He is Sam. Sam Jr. was named after his uncle. We will learn more about the Golden Chestnut vs. Winter Fir fight in book 7 ... I hope there are some surprises.

And there we have it... The decree from ON HIGH... Sam is Sam... And Sam is named for Sam! Now that should be a real slap in the face of the elder... I feel sorry for the younger stuck with that name... I wonder if he would change it.... muahahahahahah

 

It will be interesting when we finally learn more about the Golden Chestnut Tree  vs Winter Fir.... A rivalry spaning centuries if what others have said is to be accepted.

I don't think Trent was necessarily a coward, but he was a scared young man who got caught giving head to a guy by his dad.  That would give pause to a lot of young men.  To me, it's just disappointing to see another person let Colt down, especially since the guy went after him in the first place.  

And where is Carter? ;-)

 

Carter is probably somewhere near Colt because his Vampire puppet master told him to be.

Sheesh how could I forget Carter.... the name mentioned Once in the final chapter of Meta... Out of all the other names that come flying at us left and right resurfacing like Alex and Xander, Betty, Betsy, Bianca, Risa, MaryAnn, 'ssandra, Ale'ssandra, etc etc etc... Yet I forget the possible name of the Golden Chestnut Tree Pack's Alpha that MaryAnn let slip.
