W_L Posted September 10, 2015 Posted September 10, 2015 Hmm.. I guess I must be the international kid 1. The way he looks (Based off a really good Brazilian short film "I don't want to walk back alone")- Of course as I am a legally blind and gay, I am really bias 2. Happy together 1998- really interesting Asian LGBT movie about a co-dependent gay couple
C. When Posted November 14, 2015 Posted November 14, 2015 Henry Gamble's Birthday Party (2015) the most interesting part of this movie was every character felt human regardless of their beliefs. It should be available on various platforms in May 2016. (I saw it at a film festival) He Hated Pidgeons, I only saw the trailer but I want to see it and it seems passionate. 2
echophase Posted November 18, 2015 Posted November 18, 2015 Boys (2014) - I found it on Netflix the other day and had been pleasantly surprised that it wasn't complete garbage. 3
Aythya Posted November 28, 2015 Posted November 28, 2015 Shelter and Latter Days are two of my top faves and still are. I also love the soundtrack of both movies. 2
David Dalton Posted December 5, 2015 Posted December 5, 2015 The History Boys (2006) -- very sweet and very smart, based on the play by Alan Bennett 1

bignick Posted December 13, 2015 Posted December 13, 2015 Contracorriente (Undertow, 2009) **** eCupid (2011) *** Cuatro Lunas (Four Moons, 2014) ***** Paternity Leave (2015). Actually, I haven't seen this one, only the trailer and it seems pretty funny. 1
Krista Posted December 17, 2015 Posted December 17, 2015 I watched Free Fall the other night - I really liked it. I heard they're making a sequel to it, so I'm hoping. Foreign films in this genre is leaps ahead of Hollywood/American films.

Happy together 1998- really interesting Asian LGBT movie about a co-dependent gay couple I adore The way he looks. It's so really well done and just warms up the heart. North Sea Texas was good. Private Romeo was pretty good. You really have to have an understanding of Romeo and Juliet to get a real sense of the movie though.
bignick Posted January 1, 2016 Posted January 1, 2016 Love or Whatever (2012) ****. I don't know, but one day you could find the love of your life, knocking on your door, delivering pizza. I love Jennifer Elise Cox and Joel Rush looks really hot (but then again he always has)
W_L Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 Anyone seen this, I am thinking of buying it from TLA:
Carlos Hazday Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 Philadelphia (tear jerker but awesome acting) The Twilight of the Golds (would you have an abortion if you knew your fetus would be a gay kid?) Circuit (not for everyone. good honest look at the circuit party culture)
Former Member Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 The Crying Game and Philadelphia are two of my favorites. Although it's not a movie, I get a kick out of the Netflix original comedy Grace and Frankie. The show stars Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin, Martin Sheen, and Sam Waterston. The seasoned actors are superb.
C B Posted January 13, 2016 Posted January 13, 2016 I suggest to watch the series "Please Like Me". It's adorable. And for anyone that realized they were gay later in life...it's very relatable. ENJOY xD
LeonMichaels Posted January 13, 2016 Posted January 13, 2016 Here are a couple more that I don't think were mentioned yet: Angels in America (2003 - HBO miniseries) Freier Fall (2013) - German one, bit moody, but pretty good (some excplicitness if I recall correctly) Pride ( 2014) - Wonderful movie, I love this one.
Site Administrator wildone Posted January 16, 2016 Site Administrator Posted January 16, 2016 I suggest to watch the series "Please Like Me". It's adorable. And for anyone that realized they were gay later in life...it's very relatable. ENJOY xD I decided to check this out and I am finding it hilarious!!! The sarcastic humour, the situational humour, the scene humour is all nicely woven together. Thanks for the suggestion C.B. 1
W_L Posted January 17, 2016 Posted January 17, 2016 Just want to promote the LGBT answer to interstellar, I heard about this film's inception from Indiegogo and its really interesting: I think Brits might be onto something: with Credence
Robert Rex Posted January 19, 2016 Posted January 19, 2016 "In and Out" is a light comedy piece with Kevin Klein, who realizes he's gay in mid-life. And it's kind of fun to watch him and Tom Selleck kiss. Nice list of supporting actors, too, with Joan Cussack, Matt Dillon, Debbie Renolds, Willford Brimley, Bob Newhart, A fun piece. 1
Hunter Thomson Posted January 19, 2016 Posted January 19, 2016 I just watched Boys Don't Cry a couple weeks ago. That was really hard to watch, but it's based on a true story. 1
W_L Posted January 23, 2016 Posted January 23, 2016 (edited) Okay, just because it's different and it blurs a lot of lines between art, film, and porn. I am going to throw RoadStrip out there for people to think about. In terms of humor, sexual/emotional tension, and cinematography, which was top notch by the way, this movie deserves a mention for a gay man's must see list. Yes, it is basically a gay porn with a plot that works, but there are so many crappy art house movies out there that don't give you half the amount of acting or plot developments that this movie does. Also, in case GA Mods think I am promoting pornography, a shortened version was featured in Qfest in front of general LGBT audiences. This is the meta version of gay porn, which has some merit as a mainstream movie and made Jake Bass and Max Ryder Gay Icons in the US along with an earlier pornographic/faux reality show movie (that is just well done gay porn, so I won't mention it by name, but you guys know which one ) . MJ85 Posted February 7, 2016 Posted February 7, 2016 (edited) I will add these two that I don't see as yet listed: But I'm a Cheerleader (1999). An outrageous farce of a film - but as you will quickly discover upon watching it, that's the point. Also noteworthy for one of its characters being portrayed by RuPaul out of drag. The Broken Hearts Club (2000). Fairly ordinary, but it's actually a pretty nice film. It doesn't end overtly happily or sadly, but it doesn't really need to. Edited February 7, 2016 by MJ85 1
