I thought it would be fun to start a new game.  The idea is to link two words that go together, using the second word  that the previous poster used.  For example:  peanut butter, butter pecan, pecan pie, etc.

I'll get us started.

Box cutter

That was a tough one!  I had to look up a word to go with cutter.

Sorry, I think I misread your rules. :*)

perfect life

You're supposed to use the last word that was posted before you.  So you posted "perfect life" then Reader used "life" to make "life jacket".

Just to clarify the rules:  responses need to be two separate words, not a compound word.  Also, words cannot have implied conjoining words.  For example "walk water" has an 'on' implied in the middle.  The two words must make sense and stand alone.  I'm glad there's so much interest in this game.  Thanks to everyone for playing :D

So a bit like the word chain, but with much more flexible rules.

You post a word.... like Feather

the next person posts the most associated word in their head... like Bird (could also have light, fluffy, soft, downy, pillow, etc)

you can't just flick words back and forth like...
      onion
      layers
      onion

      but you can go
      onion
      layers
      ogre
      donkey...

      So let's start.

      Rules:

      1. We start with a word.
      2. The next player takes the last two letters of the word and uses it as the first two letters of the next word.
      3. Play continues until no words are found that will match.
      4. Keep the English language -- words that are found in the dictionary.
      5. Words cannot be repeated twice (or more) in a row.

      For example:

      word 1: gregarious
      word 2: usual
      word3: always

Play would stop there unless a word was found starting with ys. How long can we grow the chain of words?

      Game 1 begins with: onion
