Mikiesboy Posted July 18 Author Posted July 18 (edited) Happy Thursday. Now, having spent a pile of Michael's money on Prime Days, the motherload of stuff will arrive today! This means a lot of work in the kitchen. Shelves need to be cleaned, and organized stuff needs to be moved around while we wait for the new baker's rack to arrive. In the meantime, here is some good advice. There's likely not to be a 'next time' when it comes to life, so live yours: NOW!!! Have a good day all ❣️ Edited July 18 by Mikiesboy 4
Popular Post Kitt Posted July 18 Popular Post Posted July 18 (edited) New Idiocy Update: The smoke alarms were still ringing when the lady who called me @ 5 am yesterday arrived this morning. Instead of calling the barn owner, or going ballistic on the barn hand, she called me again at 4:45 ! My alarm does not ring till 5. What part of "I don't work there any more, I have no authority, and I AM AN HOUR DRIVE AWAY" does she not understand??? Ok, then while I am at the barn 6 am today, another boarder decided to turn her horse out into a currently unused private field. I have no idea why, nor do I care. What I do care about is that her horse is not a happy camper by himself in this new to him field. He is pacing the fence, hollering for his field buddies and generally working himself into a lather. I have known this horse for 20 years. ( he is a senior citizen at 26) I am very well aware that he will only stay alone for so long before he breaks a fence and goes back towards his regular field looking for his buddies. So I go point out to the woman who bought him last year what he is up to, and get told to butt out and MYOB. My response? "Hope your horse doesn't hurt himself when he breaks the fence. Enjoy your game of catch the pissed off horse!" Edited July 18 by Kitt 2 4

Why would you separate him like that? I watch a few horse rescue things on youtube and i'm just horrified at the cruelty these poor animals endure. They are alive, breathing and intelligent creatures. 4

I have no clue why she separated him. I thought she would want to know how he was reacting and passed on the info. This guy has a history of breaking out when angry or bored. Lol I used to be on a first name basis with the night dispatcher in town when he would lead a breakout and walkabout at 3 am. Edited July 19 by Kitt 5

Popular Post Mikiesboy Posted July 20 Author Popular Post Posted July 20 Happy Saturday and International Moon Day. I've written several poems about the moon.. here's one: Summer’s cool evening breeze found us Sharing wine, bread and cheeses; hard Our laughter could be heard o’er the glen and echoed softly in the old churchyard When the harvest moon, its light did share We’d meet and then, after a glass or two O’er this tidy, rolling path, we’d wander Marveling at the orb’s glorious orange hue Most winter nights were never clear And the moon’s soft, reflected glow Would lighten the grey, woolen skies As arm-in-arm, we walked below Now full circle, has our life come This path, again, I walk on my own Above, the moon is full and bright But March winds chill me to the bone The moon aloft is my only company While I add fresh flowers before your stone I’m lonely, my heart hitches, and I know Soon, you’ll no longer reside here alone You and I will have eternity together Fulfilling the promises we each had made We’ll stroll this path forever and always Under the moon’s brilliant cascade. Have a great Saturday!!! Happy Moon Day!! 10

I loved it the first time I read it. ❤️ Now, I have to go and chase down @kbois she's slippery though and not in a good way. 4 1

I hope everyone has a good week! I didn't, but I know stuff needs doing. I have the luxury of time, so I can spread it out over a few days. Though things like an eye appointment on Tuesday appear as giant mountains, I have to climb rather than what they are. It's very weird. Anyway, still have a Happy Sunday. As chris has rightly pointed out, it is Monday and we should be happy about that. I agree! In addition, it is World Brain Day as someone who needs some help from their meds to right their brain; looking after your brain is a good idea. I found this today about the theme of Brain Day 2024: This day serves as a reminder of the critical importance of brain health and the need to take proactive steps to prevent and manage neurological conditions. The theme for World Brain Day 2024 is 'Brain Health and Prevention.' Also, some motivation...i need some.. Edited July 22 by Mikiesboy 4
Mikiesboy Posted July 23 Author Posted July 23 It's Tuesday. For me, it's Eye doctor's day and something else, I'm sure. Whatever you've got on, have a good one! 3
Mikiesboy Posted July 24 Author Posted July 24 Happy Wednesday. It is also International Self-Care Day. Self-care is underrated and often forgotten, but it is extremely important. Self-care means taking time to do things that help with your physical and mental well-being. Do something for yourself every day, even a small thing. 3
Mikiesboy Posted July 25 Author Posted July 25 Happy Thursday, you lot. I hope everyone is okay. Have a super day! 3

So, yay for sunshine and blue skies! 3
