Mikiesboy Posted November 16, 2018 Author Posted November 16, 2018 Happy Friday ... it is white here.. and more falling still. But the trees are pretty and the wind isn't howling... so it looks nice. I was out on the balcony earlier, no coat. It's not so cold out there. I'm glad i dont have to travel in it until Sunday. So here is today's motivational thing ... 5
Mikiesboy Posted November 16, 2018 Author Posted November 16, 2018 Today's word i've not heard before ... kinda cool exculpate verb | EK-skull-payt Definition : to clear from alleged fault or guilt You need not take the blame if you're unfamiliar with the origins of exculpate, and we would be glad to enlighten you, if that's the case. The word, which was adopted in the 17th century from Medieval Latin exculpatus, traces back to the Latin noun culpa, meaning "blame." Some other descendants of culpa in English include culpable ("meriting condemnation or blame") and inculpate ("incriminate"), as well as the considerably rarer culpatory ("accusing") and disculpate (a synonym of exculpate). You may also be familiar with the borrowed Latin phrase mea culpa, which translates directly as "through my fault" and is used in English to mean "a formal acknowledgment of personal fault or error." 4

Kitt Posted November 16, 2018 Posted November 16, 2018 Miscellaneous mixed mush here this morning. Peeps are still driving like idiots in spite of roads being clear and just wet atm. Last night took an hour and 45 min to make the 35 min ride home. Not bad compared to some of the reports! 3

Site Moderator Reader1810 Posted November 17, 2018 Site Moderator Posted November 17, 2018 (edited) Good evening DICers! It’s so nice to be home and out of the snow and the wind. Recently, I mentioned buying Nescafé Gold instant coffee not realizing it was the espresso version. While I do like it, what I really wanted was just plain old instant coffee, so I tried again. Found this and am drinking a mug of it now. Sure hits the spot on a winters night. @BHopper2 If you have more jokes, please share, ‘cause the ones you posted were funny. 😁 Edited November 17, 2018 by Reader1810 3
