Popular Post Headstall Posted August 30, 2019 Popular Post Posted August 30, 2019 Sorry for not chatting much today. It has been very stressful for me. Cookie was spayed today, and I was a wreck... silly, I know, but she was so sad when I took her in at eight this morning. I picked her up at five and she was pretty groggy, but very happy to see me. She is in her crate, and all is good. It will be a tough week trying to keep her quiet, but between the leash and the crate, I should be able to keep her from injuring herself. My son isn't allowed to take her downstairs for the next week. She's in perfect health, but I got hassled for her carrying too much weight... there was fat around her liver and kidneys. My son and I reevaluated her feeding... we think she's been getting too many treats and dental bones, so we are going to be vigilant. She gets two ounces of chicken breast mixed with her food each of her two daily meals, and we are reducing that to one ounce, with less kibble. If that doesn't work we might try one feeding per day, but I have never done that with any of my dogs before. 5 1 1

It's always kind of sad having to neuter our pets, especially with females like should we let her have at least one pregnancy, will it play on their attitudes... But it's also a lot less worry and "problems". The weight thing isn't easy to appreciate and judge for us no professionals. We want to please them and there so many treats that appear healthy. Our older cat was a bit too far too so we had to change the kibbles and less wet food and treats. It was the same kibbles we had always given to our previous cat but as each animal is different (she is a girl, less active...) we had to adapt. Lot of love to you and her 3 2

Lot of love to you and her She's outside my doorway in her crate, so she can see me, and she's been whimpering, but I can't let her jump up on my bed. I can't sleep because I keep checking on her... so far she's leaving her incision alone, other than a few licks. Thanks, clo. 6 1

Now sleep old man, whether you're watching her or not if she feels like having a lick she'll do it anyway. Edited August 30, 2019 by clochette 7

Is she the sort to gobble her food when you put it in her dish? If not try free feeding. Doesn't work with all dogs but I've had success with both my previous dog, Missy and with Thistle. There is always food in his dish. He eats what he wants when he's hungry. I usually limit how much I put in at any one time. Typically what is reccomended for his size. He's maintained a healthy weight as lons I've had him. 1 5

Popular Post clochette Posted August 30, 2019 Popular Post Posted August 30, 2019 Happy Friday! I started to clean the strawberries beds: cutting suckers, unrooting sneaky new plants, taking off damm snails getting cosy in a bed of dead leaves, taking off said dead leaves... The plants are already getting ready for Autumn. 6
